Pauza i cisza jako konstytutywny element kompozycyjny piosenki. Próba analizy
The basic form-forming unit of a song is a rhythmically ordered series of melonic sounds, i.e. sounds that are in a mechanized movement. This movement correlates with the rhythmic structure of the text, thus creating a harmonized conglomerate of interacting elements of the composition. The movement of melody and lyrics is subordinated to a structure that at first glance cannot be seen — a pause and functionalized silence, and thus “empty spaces” of the song. Paradoxically, they are the most constitutive for the genre. They interact on many levels and layers of composition, ranging from elementary quantitative classification, i.e. instrumental, vocal and performative levels, to individual poetological and expressive qualities — ordering the movement of sounds, regulating tensions or a kind of “shading” thanks to the skillful combination of contrasts. “Empty spaces” participate in the game of form elements on par with sounds and murmurs.
Although in recent years the interest in Korean culture has increased in Poland, Korean literature, which has been available on our publishing market since 1950, is not much talked about. It is true that the number of Korean publications has increased significantly in the last decade, but this literature can still be described as niche. A huge role in the dissemination of Korean literature in Poland is played by the publishing house Kwiaty Orientu [Oriental Flowers], founded in 2007. The aim of this article is to present this publishing house’s activities and what it has published as well as to show its influence on the popularisation of Korean literature in Poland. To describe the publishing house’s activities, interviews given by its founders and made available in the media, the publishing house’s website as well as the posts on its official social media were used. The analysis of its publishing outcome was conducted on the basis of information contained in the catalogue of the National Library of Poland, which allowed to create an original database. The founders of the publishing house, Marzena Stefańska-Adams and Edyta Matejko-Paszkowska, aim to popularise Korean literature not only through publishing activities but also through workshops organised by them as well as their attendance at literary and cultural events. The publishing house also cares about the diversity of its outcome. Thus, Polish readers have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a wide range of publications from South Korea — from children’s literature, young adults’ literature and novels to comic books for adults. Currently, more than half of Korean literature published in Poland has been published by Kwiaty Orientu. Therefore, it has an undeniable contribution to filling this market niche, especially considering that so far there is no competition in this field from other publishing houses.Początki literatury koreańskiej na polskim rynku wydawniczym. Śląsk w dobie kampanii napoleońskich 1806/1807 i 1813 roku
The article presents events in Silesia during the Napoleonic Wars. They were discussed both the 1806/1807 campaign, known as the War of the Fortress, in which the Prussians defended Silesia against Napoleonic troops, as well as the Polish uprising in New Silesia, which decided the further fate of this land incorporated into Prussia in 1795. The course of the 1813 campaign in Silesia were also presented. The analyse of the source material and academic literature showed that the description of these campaigns mythologised by Prussian historiography, so effectively blurred the actual course of events that the stories about Silesian patriotism became one of the foundations of the legend of German Silesia

Białe dni, czarne śniegi i strachy na wróble. O kinie jakuckim
The aim of this article is to familiarize the reader with the selected works, names, and trends (genre cinema, the “Sakhawood” phenomenon) that have dominated the Yakutian cinema in the context of the history, belief system, and national identity of the Sakha. A chronological overview of the respective stages of development (e.g. ongoing professionalization of film crews and the democratization of the medium itself) of the discussed cinema — understood as a component of world cinema — concerns the years 1986–2022, i.e. from the production of the first Yakutian-language film until the present day — the period of increasing recognition of many of the films and the acclivous aspirations of the filmmakers
