Aktuelle Gesellschaftskritik in modernen Aufführungen der Possen von Johann Nestroy an Wiener Bühnen
No full textDas Wiener Theater ist untrennbar mit der Person von Johann Nepomuk Nestroy verbunden. Mit Satire und Gesang machte der Dramatiker sein Publikum auf die Schattenseiten der Gesellschaft aufmerksam und spottete über die Laster der Reichen und Mächtigen, die seit jeher besonders dankbare Satireopfer darstellen. Obwohl seit seinem Tod mehr als 160 Jahre vergangen sind, verloren die Themen, die Nestroy seinerzeit parodierte, keinesfalls an Wichtigkeit. Anhand einiger zeitgenössischer Nestroyaufführungen an Wiener Bühnen analysiert der Beitrag die Aktualität der darin behandelten gesellschaftlichen Probleme. Der Schwerpunkt des Artikels liegt auf den für die Inszenierungen adaptierten Texten und somit auf dem Ausmaß der diversen Veränderungen im Vergleich zu den Originalwerken.The Viennese theatre is inseparably linked with the person of Johann Nepomuk Nestroy. With satire and song, the playwright drew his audience’s attention to the darker sides of society and mocked the vices of the rich and powerful, who have always been particularly grateful victims of comedy. Although more than 160 years have passed since his death, the themes that Nestroy had once parodied in his time have not lost their importance. On the basis of some contemporary Nestroy performances at Viennese theatres, the article analyses the topicality of the social problems. The focus of the paper is on the texts adapted for the productions, and thus the extent of the various changes compared to the original works.Das Wiener Theater ist untrennbar mit der Person von Johann Nepomuk Nestroy verbunden. Research on the history of libraries and librarianship in Poland: A survey, 1945–2015
Get PDFThe author of the article discusses selected academic and popular publications on the history of libraries and librarianship in Poland which were issued between 1945 and 2015. In that period, information about the most important historical resources of various Polish libraries and early book collections was made available. In addition, the period was marked by progress in the study of materials originating before the end of the 18th century. Scholars published a range of methodological works and works about sources, contributing to the development of scholarship. At the same time, there were too few editions of source materials.
After 1989, scholars intensified their efforts to find sources in foreign collections, especially in Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Germany. Polish collections kept abroad are yet to be fully researched and to have their inventories and catalogues published.
The vast body of literature is uneven when it comes to its focus on individual historical periods, regions, subregions and local centres. It comprises publications on the history of libraries, their function and role in culture with regard to the history of publications focused on the types of libraries or individual libraries — of different traditions, sizes and the book, and stature. Scholars also explored the history of private book collections, reading rooms and libraries, as well as biographies of librarians and collectors. The quality of the publications varies. There are gaps in, for example, the history of libraries in the former Polish eastern borderlands and ‘blank pages’ in the historiography of Polish librarianship after the Second World War. There is a visible shortage of quantification of phenomena from the past of libraries, despite the fact that there are some possibilities in this respect. What is also needed is development in comparative studies, including from an international perspective, although this would require Polish historians to become more interested than before in the history of librarianship in other countries.The author of the article discusses selected academic and popular publications on the history of libraries and librarianship in Poland which were issued between 1945 and 2015. The discussion of the processes of liberation from stereotypical models of body perception, in which women are still inscribed, is undertaken. Get PDFWithin feminist theory, the concept of ethics of care introduced by Carol Gilligan is considered to be an original and interesting model for describing patterns in which empathy expresses and manifests itself in the process of constituting young female subjectivity. Using it as an analytical tool, the author examines selected narrative models in works of popular culture addressed primarily to young audiences. Care and anger are treated as emotions that have a huge impact on the decisions made by the protagonists of the TV series The Wilds and the book and film series The Hunger Games, who are motivated by concerns for the safety of loved ones and the demand for a specific idea of justice. Narrative strategies built in this way allow the audience to perceive teenage protagonists in experiencing various forms of oppression as figures of empowered and agency, which in turn increases the spectrum of the attitudes of independent girl heroines presented within the popular culture.Koncepcja etyki troski opracowana przez Carol Gilligan uznawana jest w ramach teorii feministycznej za oryginalny i interesujący model konstruowania wzorców dziewczyńskiej empatii. Stosując ją jako narzędzie analityczne, pochylam się nad wybranymi modelami narracyjnymi w utworach kultury popularnej, kierowanych przede wszystkim do grona młodych odbiorczyń.
