No full textOne of the torts provided for in the Polish Penal Code against freedom of conscience and religion is religious discrimination. It involves limiting a person’s rights due to his or her religious affiliation or non-denomination. In addition to the basic article 194 of the Penal Code on discrimination, the Code also contains many other provisions containing various forms of religious discrimination, in which it is a secondary (additional) subject of legal protection. Although we do not have many cases of discrimination, protection against it is one of the guarantees of equality of persons before the law and the implementation of freedom of conscience and religion. Discrimination involves both religious and ideological intolerance and lack of respect for the rights of other people. For these reasons, it was criminalized as one of the most serious crimes against freedom of conscience and religion

No full textThe analysis of the text of Oponerse a las estrellas by Matos Fragoso, Martínez de Meneses y Moreto shows the text’s notable degree of “courtlyness” in regard to the dramatic situations it presents, and refined sequences of the cuestiones de amor, the very detailed stage directions and the gracioso’s discreet humor with recurrent allusions to courtly habits. Various leisures inherent to life in the court, such as strolls through the gardens or galleries, are also mentioned. The article is part of a wider study that analyzes the corpus of plays written Moreto and other dramatists in this light, in order to demonstrate their origins in courtly life.El análisis del texto de Oponerse a las estrellas de Matos Fragoso, Martínez de Meneses y Moreto evidencia una notable cortesanización del mismo, en relación con las situaciones dramatizadas, las secuencias estáticas y refinadas de las cuestiones de amor, las acotaciones muy detalladas y la risa discreta del gracioso con alusiones tópicas en el ambiente palaciego. Tampoco faltan referencias a espacios del recreo palaciego, como el jardín y la galería vinculada al mismo. No full textThis article explores new ways of developing intercultural competence in the classroom through mediation and negotiation. To this end, it introduces the concept of pragmatic error and recognition of stereotypes. The text will present some concrete examples of how to sensitize students to different modes of behavior and the multiple interpretations that can cause accidental situations or interferences in communication.
Therefore, the work is structured in three main phases. Firstly, the concept of pragmatic error is approached and both, its definition and its functioning in language are presented. Similarly, the role of stereotypes and prejudices in intercultural communication will be developed. Finally, the last phase focuses on mediation and negotiation and their importance in intercultural competence.
Once the concepts have been presented theoretically, some practical applications for the teaching of SFL are proposed with the aim of learning about the mechanisms that help to overcome the socio-cultural differences between nations. The reflections and results found in this article serve as a starting point to talk about this communicative fact in a language classroom.El objetivo del presente artículo consiste en explorar nuevos modos de desarrollo de la competencia intercultural en el aula de español /LE a través de la mediación y la negociación interculturales. Para ello, se plantean dos aspectos como punto de partida: por un lado, el concepto de error pragmático y, por otro, el reconocimiento de estereotipos. Así pues, en el texto se ofrecerán ejemplos concretos destinados a proporcionar instrumentos para sensibilizar al alumnado sobre distintos modos de comportamiento, así como sobre las múltiples interpretaciones que pueden provocar situaciones accidentales o interferencias en la comunicación.
A fin de cumplir el objetivo señalado, el trabajo está estructurado en tres grandes bloques. En primer lugar, se ha procedido a realizar un acercamiento al concepto del error pragmático, a la par que se aborda tanto su definición como su funcionamiento en el lenguaje. Del mismo modo, se desarrollan las correspondientes conceptualizaciones acerca del papel que desempeñan los estereotipos y los prejuicios en la comunicación intercultural. Finalmente, en el último apartado se da cuenta de los conceptos de mediación y negociación interculturales, y la importancia que poseen para la competencia intercultural.
Tras ofrecer un tratamiento de estos conceptos de forma teórica, se pasará a proponer algunas aplicaciones prácticas en la enseñanza de ELE con la finalidad de conocer más concretamente qué mecanismos ayudan a superar las diferencias socioculturales entre las naciones. No cabe duda de que las reflexiones y resultados vertidos en este artículo habrán de servir como punto de partida para abordar este hecho comunicativo en una clase de idiomas

Czego boją się nastolatkowie? O komentarzu społecznym w horrorze południowokoreańskim na przykładzie serii „Yeogo Goedam”
No full textKorean teenagers in the ‘Yeogo Goedam’ series struggle with educational and social issues, showing school as a place of pressure and violence. The films, from 1998 to 2021, examine the image of education, showing its pathological aspects. Peer violence and pressure for school achievement lead to unhealthy competition, reflecting Confucian culture and social hierarchy. Patriarchal values and expectations of the environment reveal adolescent frustrations, lead to aggression and sometimes to final acts. The characters’ narratives are analysing their identity, which is just forming. Suicide, which is one of the main themes in ‘Yeogo Goedam’, is a pretext for the appearance of fantastic elements in the form of the ghosts of deceased classmates, which symbolise the trauma of both the individual and the educational system in South Korea. ‘Yeogo Goedam’ series encourage reflection on the impact of traditional values on contemporary Korean society and the effects of educational and peer pressure

No full textThe relationship between human and machine has concerned researchers and theorists since decades. The newest chapter of this discussion involves the phenomenon of artificial intelligence and algorithms, raising the issue of their autonomy and immateriality. The possible influence of algorithms on human’s identity in streaming platforms’ universe is a main topic of this essay. The author presents the scale of algorithms’ activities in social media and assesses the relationship between user and technologies in VOD services. This essay leads to the discussion about the condition of humans’ identities through concepts of dataification, surveillance capitalism, virtual and real effects of described technological solutions. As a conclusion, the author analyzes the idea of algorithmic identity, concerning problems of rabbit holes, decomposition of individuality and treating users in terms of data suppliers

Gender estimation using dynamic features of digitally captured handwriting: A pilot study
No full textHandwriting is a neuromuscular task influenced by factors such as age, gender, and handedness, with gender being a significant feature that can aid in classification. In the present study, thirty handwriting samples were analysed using a digital tablet with MovAlyzeR software. The key dynamic features, including absolute jerk, peak vertical velocity and acceleration, loop surface area, slant and pressure, were analysed using software. The results highlighted a significant difference in absolute jerk, with males showing higher values, underscoring its importance in gender classification. Although other features did not show significant gender differences, they remain important for comprehensive handwriting analysis. The study highlights the importance of dynamic handwriting features for understanding gender differences. Further studies are underway to identify more dynamic features contributing to gender classification from digitally captured handwriting
Social services for seniors living in Popowice
No full textThe aim of the paper was to investigate the issue of social services for seniors living in the Popowice estate of Wroclaw, Poland. In the paper, the concept of co-creation was used. Hence, the research object was residents (mostly seniors) of the Popowice district. The research subject was the quality of life of seniors. To achieve the goal, the following research tasks were implemented: 1) to identify the needs of seniors, 2) to identify which of those needs are satisfied locally and which are not, and 3) to identify the attitude towards cooperation. In the paper, the following research methods were used: the analysis of scientific literature and normative documents, co-creation methodology, PAPI and CAWI surveys, comparative analysis, and statistical analysis. Thanks to the research, it has been revealed that the demand for social services is greater than its supply. Moreover, although the majority of seniors believe that they have little or no influence on the shape and quality of social services available in the housing estate, they are not interested in active participation in designing and adapting social services to their needs
