    Get PDF
The research investigated the efficacy of utilizing an e-training environment to enhance capstone teaching skills among STEM educators. Conducted at Obour STEM School, Cairo, Egypt, the study employed a quasi-experimental design with 27 randomly selected participants. Three instruments were utilized: a list of Capstone teaching skills, a pre-post achievement test, and an observation card assessing skill acquisition in two main fields: EDP Field and Process Management Field. These fields encompassed eight main skills, subdivided into 64 subskills. The researchers conducted pre- and post-testing, initially administering a 70-question pre-test followed by a month-long online training via Microsoft Teams. The training content aimed to address identified needs based on pre-test results. After the training, participants completed a post-test, which was repeated after another month. Results indicated a statistically significant difference (p<=0.05) between pre-test and post-achievement test scores, favoring the latter, suggesting improvement in Capstone teaching skills. Similarly, there was a significant difference (p<=0.05) between pre-test and post-observation card scores, indicating enhanced skill development. Conclusively, the study demonstrated the effectiveness of e-training, particularly employing the SOLE technique, in enhancing capstone teaching skills among STEM educators. Consequently, the researchers recommended the integration of e-training environments in STEM teacher development programs in Egypt

August Strindberg’s Miss Julie and Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard have always been recurrently analyzed within disputable studies concerning the characters’ psychoanalytic makeup, the characters’ breakdown at the break of a new social class, and a naturalistic, existential approach. Such a foundational approach for analysis is overpoweringly highlighted in the two plays within an unshakable regularity to the assumption that female identities in the two plays have undergone intense turmoil, toppled heavily in the middle of socioeconomic changes with the decline of aristocracy. However, this paper aims to juxtapose and compare the concept of identity crisis in association with the traumatic experiences of the two characters Miss Julie and Mrs. Ranyevskaia through a comparative psychoanalytic approach. It is inexplicable how the two addressed characters grapple with their different circumstances with fractured identities, where they fail to stand up for their social and gender roles and elevate their sense of individuation and selfhood in the middle of the surrounding deteriorations. Through a comparative analysis, this study lays the groundwork needed for exploring, interpreting, and investigating more nuanced reciprocal relationships associated with identity crisis

    Get PDF
Aim and purpose: The knowledge of health professionals about the potential risks of using ionizing radiation plays an important role in protecting themselves and patients. The use of mobile radiography units poses several threats to workers such as radiation exposure, ergonomic injuries and musculoskeletal disorders from the constant use of lead feet and moving the portable radiography machine. The aim of the study is to highlight the knowledge background of healthcare professionals on radiation and radiation protection. Methodology: 72 questionnaires were distributed and 60 were returned with an overall response rate of 83%. The main sections addressed through the questionnaire were demographic data, knowledge background on radiation dose and radiation protection rules and measures. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS software. Results: From the results, the deficit of the knowledge background of health professionals on radiation and radiation protection is evident. It emerged that health professionals, especially medical doctors - radiologists have knowledge of the dose received by the patient when performing a chest X-rayin a percentage of 75%, 6.6% stated that they rarely or never use a protective lead apron, 5% of the respondents stated that they never use a personal dosimeter. Conclusion: The guidelines for radiation protection of workers and patients when performing home radiography should be based on the pillars of continuous training of staff, but also on adherence to the very basic principle of justification

In Mali, rapid changes due mainly to demographic pressure and climate variability have occurred in recent years. The increase in rural population density no longer makes it possible to ensure a sustainable production system. To remedy these constraints, this study aims to analyze the production effect of the millet varieties Toroniou and Synthetic 006 on the living conditions of the members of the Tingoni platform. It was conducted during the 2020-2021, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 campaigns on 53 farms. It consisted of permanent monitoring of farms during cultivation operations and was supplemented by individual surveys through a semi-structured questionnaire. The results of the study showed that ethnicity, farm size, and area do not correlate with the level of adoption of Toroniou and Synthetic varieties. However, the residency status of producers has a significant correlation with the level of technology adoption. Average yields are 1037 kg/ha for adopters and 627 kg/ha for non-adopters. The analysis of variance showed a highly significant difference (P≤0.001) between yields according to producer status. The analysis of the well-being of Tingoni's platform members showed that 74% of adopting farms have acceptable consumption compared to 42% for non-adopters. Food insecurity conditions showed that about 68% of adoptive producers are in good condition compared to 58% of non-adopters. The technologies (Toroniou millet varieties and Synthetic 006) contribute to the improvement of producers' incomes. This income from the sale of surplus production makes it possible to diversify the food ration of farms. As a result, contributes to the well-being of the members of Tingoni's innovation platform

The Mediating Role of Individual Performance in the Interplay between ICTE Appropriation and Educational performance

    Get PDF
Over the past two decades, higher educational institutions have invested heavily in information and communication technologies (ICT). Since the advent of the Internet, ICTs have significantly impacted university organization, teaching, and learning methods. A key research question concerns the impact of students' appropriation of ICTs on educational performance. Scholars have explored this question both theoretically and empirically but faced two main constraints. First, it is challenging to observe students' ICT appropriation due to unclear definitions. Second, the evolving nature of ICTs makes isolating their effects difficult. This study aims to explore the contribution of students' ICT appropriation to educational performance in universities and to define the role of Individual Performance in the relationship between ICT appropriation and educational outcomes. Based on a quantitative survey of students from public universities in the Casablanca-Settat region, the study used the structural equation method (SEM) with SMART PLS 4.0 software. Data from 185 students revealed a direct correlation between ICT adoption and educational performance, with individual performance acting as an intermediary. The findings indicate that ICT profoundly influences the learning process in higher education. Future research should focus on the individual performance of Moroccan university students and its impact on their educational outcomes.&nbsp

    Get PDF
The potential of waste from the mango sector in Burkina Faso is not objectively known when it constitutes an ambivalent issue from an economic and environmental point of view. The objective of this paper is to quantify the availability of waste from the value chain (production, marketing, processing and consumption) of mangoes in Burkina Faso. The methodology used consisted of calculating central tendency and dispersion parameters, in particular the mean, the sum of means, the mean of means and the standard deviation of the statistical data available at the national level and of each individual link. The statistical analysis of secondary and primary data covered the period from 2016 to 2023 and concerns those from areas with high generation of mango waste. The results indicate that the mango sector produces on average, each year, between 100,513.66 and 116,122.04 tons of waste in Burkina Faso, or between 46.2% and more than 53.3% of the production of fresh mango. About the totality of waste, the average percentages are high at the processing level; at 41%, the production generates 30.37%, local consumption produces 15% and the exports 13.54% of total waste. By link, at the processing level, the average percentage of the quantities of waste generated is 45.35% with a higher rate of 94.16% and a minimum of 12.5% compared to fresh mangoes received. This enormous available quantity of waste recommends quickly finding one or more appropriate methods for their management in order to prevent their probable harmful effects on the environment and living together

    Get PDF
This research is part of a thesis project that includes two main phases, and it aims to develop and examine a conceptual model to understand and verify the contribution of the PMO to the performance of Moroccan organizations as well as to their level of project management maturity in terms of organization and practices. Thus, the main objectives of this research are: (1) examine the PMO contribution to organizational performance and project management maturity, but also (2) contribute to the solidification of the theoretical basis of the project management school. For this, a quantitative approach was adopted, where a questionnaire was administrated online for three consecutive months. Firstly, the president of the PMI Moroccan chapter was contacted to request their collaboration. Secondly, a direct interaction was carried out with people evolving in project management within organizations that have a Project Management Office (PMO) and who could answer the questionnaire through the professional network "LinkedIn". Two hundred and five (205) responses were received, of which seventy-six (76) were discarded because the respondents declared the non-existence of a PMO within their organizations or it exist for less than three years. Finally, one hundred and twenty-nine (129) responses were considered usable and represent our final database from which we proceeded to a set of analyzes and tests. Two-stage data analysis was followed. First, a descriptive and exploratory analysis of the data collected was performed using SPSS. Next, a confirmatory analysis using structural equation modeling was carried out with the help of SmartPLS to examine the validity of the constructs of the model and to test the hypotheses. The results of this study provide a solid basis for linking PMO functions to organizational contributions. The study concluded that the PMO through its functions contributes to organizational performance and project management maturity. It also highlights the mediating effect of project management maturity. However, the possible moderating effect of PMO type on structural relationships could not be verified
