The biophysical resilience of schizophrenic patients seems to depend on the medication they receive. The role of antipsychotic treatment in the adjustment of biophysiological activation in schizophrenic patients is far from being sufficiently explored. The present study examines biophysiological activation in schizophrenics as a function of the type of drug treatment they receive. It involved 145 patients aged between 16 and 35, with 91 subjects (40 women and 51 men) on first-generation antipsychotic treatment and 54 subjects (26 women and 28 men) on second-generation antipsychotic treatment. The results of biophysical activation were examined in terms of weight, BMI, waist circumference and hip circumference. These were obtained using an electronic scale (weight) and a tape measure for waist and hip circumferences. Antipsychotic treatments were assessed by examining the consultation records of each patient. The normality of the data distribution was statically tested using the Shapiro-Wilk test (p-value= 0.964). The results of the t-student test show that schizophrenics on first-generation antipsychotic treatment have a biophysical activation that differs from that of their counterparts on second-generation antipsychotic treatment (p-value= 0.000 < 0.05). Schizophrenics undergoing first-generation antipsychotic treatment show a more superior biophysical profile than their peers undergoing second-generation antipsychotic treatment. The type of drug treatment has a different effect on the biophysical functioning of schizophrenics
Floods are among the hazardous events whose occurrence continues to be sought by scientists worldwide to deepen their understanding to reduce their effects on various socio-economic activities. This event is encountered in many regions of Benin at varying levels. The Mono department is one of these parts of the area that suffers the stitches of these extreme events, which cause enormous damage to different sectors of the environment. It is on this basis that this study was undertaken to better understand the characteristics of floods in this department and revise the relationship between the extreme events of the variables studied. The daily data used are obtained respectively from Météo-Benin and the General Directorate of Water Resources for the period from 1960 to 2019. Common methods such as linear regression, Pearson correlation coefficient, simultaneous correspondences, break tests, and generalized extreme value were applied. The results showed that the Nangbeto Dam is not the cause of the floods in the Mono but rather, they are due to heavy rainfall. An increasing trend of maximum precipitation is established mainly in the Mono zone. A decadal characteristic of the flow variability is evident with an observed signal ranging from the beginning of the 1970s to the middle of the 1990s. An absence of rupture was reported by the Petits, Mann-Kendall, and Bayes tests

Recent Trends in Air Pollution in the Most Important City of The Romanian Black Sea Coast
Air pollution is one of the greatest environmental issues of contemporary society, affecting virtually all major cities worldwide, including those in Romania. Consequently, evaluating the dynamics of pollution conditions in urban environments is essential for designing control measures and adaptation strategies to this environmental disruption. This paper aims to analyze the recent dynamics of pollution and air quality in Constanta, the largest city on the Romanian coastline and one of the most important cities along the entire Black Sea coast. The investigations were based on the official concentrations of major atmospheric pollutants recorded at air quality monitoring stations located within or near Constanta. The dynamics of pollutant concentrations were explored at annual and seasonal levels, and the results showed a mixed picture of changes in the atmospheric pollutant concentrations, in recent years. Essentially, the findings highlighted both increases and decreases in air pollution conditions, emphasizing the need for constant air quality monitoring and controlling throughout Constanta city
Advancements in Nanoparticle-Based Precision Drug Delivery: A Review of Development and Optimization for Targeted Therapy in Preclinical Models
In recent years, the widespread adoption of nanoparticles has expanded across a broad spectrum of clinical domains. These nanoparticles have been specifically engineered to address the limitations associated with conventional therapeutics and to navigate various biological barriers—ranging from systemic to cellular levels—that manifest heterogeneity across different patient populations and disease states. The advent of precision treatments, wherein interventions are tailored to individual patients, has contributed to mitigating this variability among patients. Nonetheless, the predominant focus in current nanoparticle research remains on enhancing the uniformity of delivery systems. The realization of precision medicine appears imminent as lipid-based, polymeric, and inorganic nanoparticles are increasingly crafted with heightened precision, facilitating more individualized approaches to medication delivery. In this review, we delve into the advanced designs of nanoparticles employed in both precision and generalized applications, offering insights into their potential to advance precision medicine. Our discussion centers on the innovations in nanoparticle design aimed at overcoming various delivery challenges, suggesting that ingenious nanoparticle engineering holds promise for enhancing performance across a broad spectrum of delivery applications and facilitating tailored designs for specific therapeutic targets, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes
Genetic Variability, Heritability, Genetic Advance, Path Coefficient Analysis, and Inter-Character Relationships in Colocynth (Citrullus colocynthis [L.] Schrad.) from Southeastern Villages of the Benin Republic
Genetic improvement of crops for important traits requires reliable estimates of genetic variability. heritability and genetic advance of intending parent materials to identify traits useful in planning an efficient breeding program through selection. Hence, the effectiveness of genetic improvement of a crop depends on the variability in the morpho-agronomic traits of individual genotypes. Understanding the variation that exists will allow the breeder to determine strategies to be adopted in his breeding program. The objectives of the present study were to estimate the magnitude of genetic variability and advance, heritability and inter-character relationships by simple correlations and path coefficient analysis in 40 local colocynth genotypes from Southeastern Benin. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with three replications in three locations for three years. 34 morpho-agronomic traits were observed in each genotype. Analysis of variance revealed that effects of genotype, genotype by year or location and genotype by year by location interactions were significant (p ≤ 0.01 or 0.05) for all the characters. Phenotypic coefficients of variation (PCV) values were relatively greater than genotypic coefficients of variation (GCV) for all traits. High magnitude of phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of variation as well as high heritability along with high genetic advance were recorded particularly for qualitative traits. All yield components, except time to emergence, time to tailspins, leaf limb width, fruit number per plant, fruit width, seed length, seed tegument percentage and stem pubescence texture, had significant and positive correlations with yield attributes represented by thousand-seed weight (TSW) and seed number per plant (SNP). Path coefficient analysis indicated that all the characters (except leaf pubescence texture, stem pubescence texture, fruit design produced by secondary skin color and male flower size) had positive direct effects on TSW and partly SNP. Results suggested that most of the 34 quantitative and qualitative traits studied could be effectively used as selection criteria in the breeding program of Citrullus colocynthis varieties with high yield
In Côte d'Ivoire, we have noted a growing demand for traditional therapists specialising in the treatment of limb fractures. This is part of the emergence of an increasingly popular alternative medicine, which is not regulated and may therefore entail health risks. It is therefore important to document these practices in order to grasp their full scope and build a solid assessment. The aim of this study is to describe the therapeutic practices of a traditional therapist specialising in limb fractures, more specifically in the locality of Bébouo Sibouo (Haut Sassandra, Central West Côte d'Ivoire). The traditional therapist was selected through a single-case sampling of social micro-units. As part of a qualitative approach, this study used documentary research, direct observation and interviews as data collection techniques. The data collection tools used were: the reading grid, the observation grid and the interview guide. The data were processed through transcription and coding. For the analysis, we opted for content analysis. We found that acquiring the skills of a traditional therapist specialising in the treatment of limb fractures is deeply rooted in the culture of the lineage and is passed down from generation to generation. The fee for the service offered by the traditional therapist is symbolically set at 5F CFA, which is the first condition before starting treatment. Once this symbolic amount has been paid, the therapist, who specialises in limb fractures, consults the spirits for instructions on the sacrifices to be made. The treatment essentially consists of applying shea butter and a black powder made from tree bark to the fractured limb, accompanied by incantatory prayers. It should be noted that the therapeutic approach is based on divinatory practices
The key role of the most recent EU regulation – the “Digital Operational Resilence Act” in the legal system, contemporary challenges, and Georgian perspectives
The challenges of the modern world, such as globalization, digitalization, and other technological advances, have exposed all fields of science, including economics and law, to severe trials. The bold and visionary attempt of legislative bodies in various countries, to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of existing regulations and consider new ones was complemented by the development of methods and mechanisms to oversee, regulate, and incorporate the latest technological advancements into the legal framework. After ineffective efforts to deal with various objections, the European Union adopted a new regulation called the "Digital Operational Resilience Act." This regulation aims to address the challenges presented by the increasing cybersecurity threats, operational resilience, and digitalization in the financial sector, both ex-ante and ex-post. In this paper, you will learn about the role of “DORA” in the legal system, the economic analysis of the law, the challenges it faces in the European Union, and the perspectives of the Georgian reality. This paper will employ qualitative and theoretical research methods, focusing on the in-depth analysis of existing legal frameworks and expert perspectives. These methods will allow for a comprehensive understanding of DORA's implications in both the European Union and the Georgian context, offering valuable insights into its potential effectiveness and challenges.
