Innovative Green Aviation: Strategic Management and Technological Advancements in Airport Ecosystems

    Get PDF
Adopting Sustainable Development Goals has driven significant changes in the aviation industry, and airport ecosystems are committed to minimizing their environmental impact. This article examines the sustainable strategies implemented within airport ecosystems and the associated technologies that support them. We develop a qualitative research approach anchored in documentary analysis and the theoretical framework of sustainable strategic management proposed by Stead and Stead (2004) that analyses sustainable strategies at a competitive and functional level. Strategies are defined from reports of airports certified with Level 5 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation program and official documents issued by non-governmental organizations and professional services firms such as KPMG, Deloitte, and McKinsey. The main strategies and technologies at a competitive level seek to reduce the carbon footprint by using renewable energy and electric vehicles, thus obtaining a cost advantage, and reducing resource depletion. Strategies and technologies that enable the exploitation of market opportunities are related to improving user experience and designing new routes using artificial intelligence. Total quality environmental management and environmental marketing strategies are relevant to primary activities, and the formation of infrastructure supporting long-term strategy stands out among the support activities. However, there is still a need for human resource management systems to have a sustainable vision. The aviation industry is known for its high level of complexity and the large number of actors involved in its operation, in this sense, using or developing technology and identifying its application in a concrete manner in the sustainable strategies of airports considered can favor the transition towards green aviation. Equally important is the formulation of public policies that encourage and support the transition towards decarbonization. However, it is the availability of financing the development of sustainable aircraft fuels, promoting research, technological developments, and the acquisition of machinery, equipment, and personnel training

The skin is the main organ of the outer covering of the body of humans and animals. She is often confronted with burns that are expensive to treat and sometimes leave after-effects on the victims. This study aims to evaluate the healing effect of S. senegalensis gum in Rattus norvegicus strain Wistar. First, secondary metabolites and minerals were searched for in the hydroethanolic extract of 70% of S. senegalensis gum by the colorimetric and calcination-mineralization methods respectively. Then, the rats were anesthetized by inhalation of the ether and burned to the second degree on the dorsal side. A placebo consisting of 9.985 g of petroleum jelly and 0.015 g of sodium benzoate; a healing cream: silver sulfadiazine and, 5 and 15 % ointments consisting of  0.5 g part of S. senegalensis gum; 9.485 g of petroleum jelly and 0.015 g of sodium benzoate and 1.5 g of S. senegalensis gum; 8.485 g of petroleum jelly and 0.015 g of sodium benzoate were used to treat the burns. The wound healing process was assessed by assigning scores ranging from 5 to 0. Secondary metabolites such as saponosides, polyphenols, flavonoids, catechetical tannins, quinones, alkaloids, polyterpenes and sterols and minerals such as chromium, potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and copper were found in the hydroethanolic extract of S. senegalensis gum. The 15 % ointment of S. senegalensis gum promoted wound healing on day 17 while the ointment with 5 % led to wound healing on day 23. As for placebo and silver sulfadiazine, they did not succeed in healing the wounds of the rats during the 23 days of treatment. This healing activity of S. senegalensis gum is linked to the presence of flavonoids and tannins but also zinc. This extract is a promising source for the development of healing herbal medicines

    Get PDF
Multiple regression was used to analyzed the relationship between growth and yield components of Okra and Ayoyo crops with the aim of generating a predictive model. Ten (10) plants were tagged in each stream, and the average height per plot/experiment/stream, number of leaves per plot, and leaf area index. Results show an average infiltration rate of 160.25 mm/h, suggesting that the soils of the site belong to hydrologic soil group A/B.  Group A is sand, loamy sand or sandy loam types of soils while Group B is silt loam or loam. Based on regression analysis, a model equation was formulated to predict the yield of okra, exhibiting a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.832. This high R2 value indicates a strong correlation between predicted and observed yields of okra, suggesting reliable predictive capability when the growth parameters of okra are provided. Similarly, the model equation for ayoyo crop had R2 value of 0.941, suggesting a close match between predicted and observed yields of ayoyo, indicating the potential for accurate yield prediction during cultivation, given knowledge of the growth parameters of ayoyo

Introduction: The multifaceted nature of stress during pregnancy is known to influence maternal health, pregnancy outcomes, and fetal development. Objective: This study aims to explore the association between stress during pregnancy and socio-economic, educational, and cultural factors in Tbilisi, Georgia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 398 pregnant women in Tbilisi, Georgia, utilizing a pregnancy-specific questionnaire approved by the University of Georgia's ethics board. Saliva cortisol levels were measured in a focus group of 95 pregnant women who self-reported stress. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSSv.23.0.  Results: Two groups were identified: Group I (n = 172), comprising women who self-reported stress and had elevated cortisol levels (n = 95), and Group II (n = 226), who did not report stress. In Group I, saliva cortisol levels indicated mild stress in 30.5%, moderate stress in 34.7%, and high stress in 34.7%. Occupational stress factors were more prominent in Group I compared to Group II: job-related stress (OR = 1.59, p = 0.02, CI = 95%), overtime work (OR = 3.05, p = 0.001, CI = 95%), and continued work throughout pregnancy (OR = 1.82, p = 0.01, CI = 95%). Environmental stress was more prevalent among women living alone or with a partner (OR = 1.59, p = 0.03, CI = 95%). Relationship stress was significantly lower in Group I (p = 0.01), while psychological stress, such as spontaneous abortion, was higher (OR = 2.19, p = 0.001, CI = 95%). Educational levels did not differ significantly between groups. Conclusions: Self-reported stress is closely linked to elevated cortisol levels during pregnancy. Findings highlight the importance of addressing psychological, social, and occupational factors in prenatal care, to address the improvement of maternal and fetal health outcomes in the future

Of the many issues that arise when a marriage breaks down, none is more complex and important than the financial consequences of divorce, as these issues are also related to the rights of the child. This paper focuses on analyzing the economic consequences of divorce for both partners, focusing on the financial outcomes for men and women following marital dissolution. By examining key factors such as asset division and income disparities, the study provides a comprehensive view of how divorce impacts the long-term financial stability of both parties. The methodology of this study is purely comparative, serving as the foundation for the analysis.  Utilizing a comparative approach, the paper specifically examines the divorce laws and their financial implications in Germany, Austria, England, Georgia, and France. This approach highlights variations in asset division, spousal support, and financial recovery across these countries, offering insights into how different legal systems address financial disparities between partners post-divorce. Across different legal systems and cultural contexts, the paper underscores disparities in financial recovery post-divorce and identifies systemic factors that influence these outcomes. The findings suggest that while both partners experience financial challenges, the degree and nature of these consequences vary significantly based on gender, legal frameworks, and individual financial circumstances. This analysis offers important insights into the economic dimensions of divorce and contributes to ongoing discussions on legal reforms and policy adjustments aimed at addressing these disparities

    Get PDF
The modern world, with its growing dynamics, is becoming increasingly dependent on the digital realm. As a result of technological revolutions, digital technologies have become not only an integral part of daily human life but also one of the key instruments for regulating the relationship between the state and individuals. Against the backdrop of such changes, the need to develop mechanisms for protecting the digital world has emerged, in order to safeguard the essential data that is used for identifying individuals. Thus, the pace of technological development and the forms of personal data processing affect each of us in various ways on a daily basis. Consequently, a new challenge has arisen for the world: to develop a legal framework regarding the inviolability of private life and personal data protection. In Georgia, the protection of human rights and the processing of personal information is a top priority for the government. To achieve this, it is important to develop mechanisms that, on one hand, meet internationally recognized standards, and on the other hand, are precisely aligned with the current stage of Georgia’s digital development. Another significant challenge facing the Georgian state is the analysis and monitoring of cybersecurity issues, as cyberattacks represent a serious threat to personal data protection

National Security and Cyber Defense in the Rise of Artificial Super Intelligence

    Get PDF
The rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have significantly altered the global cyber security landscape, marking the emergence of Artificial superintelligence (ASI) as a transformative force in digital warfare. Unlike Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), characterized by human equivalent cognitive functions, ASI represents a level of intelligence vastly exceeding human capacities, capable of autonomous reasoning, real-time threat analysis, and adaptive decision-making. The role of ASI in cybersecurity is paradoxical, embodying both extraordinary defensive potential and unprecedented offensive risks. On the defensive side, ASI empowers cyber security frameworks with real-time predictive analytics, automated threat detection, and rapid incident response, significantly improving national security preparedness. Conversely, the offensive exploitation of ASI capabilities introduces severe threats, including sophisticated cyber-attacks, advanced misinformation campaigns, autonomous malware proliferation, and algorithmic manipulation. Moreover, ASI’s vulnerability to adversarial manipulation through data poisoning and adversarial machine learning poses additional, substantial risks to national and individual privacy. The complexity inherent in ASI systems, particularly their opaque decision-making processes (the “black box” problem), further compounds ethical and practical challenges, emphasizing the need for rigorous oversight and transparent frameworks. This paper explores the dual nature of ASI, presenting in-depth analyses of real-world scenarios of AI-driven cyberattacks alongside advanced countermeasures and policy recommendations. Key strategies discussed include AI-driven deception techniques, blockchain integration, zero-trust cybersecurity models, and comprehensive international regulatory frameworks. The objective is to provide a structured pathway for policymakers, security professionals, and researchers, ensuring that ASI serves as a compelling national security asset rather than becoming a catalyst for intensified cyber warfare

    Get PDF
Little is known about the experience of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in inclusive settings. The aim of this qualitative study is therefore to describe and understand the subjective experience of ADHD children in the inclusive school of the Centre National de Réhabilitation des Personnes Handicapées d'Etoug-Ebé, Yaoundé. The phenomenon was explored using a qualitative design. Five ADHD children participated in the study. The data were collected by means of an individual Rorschach test and then subjected to qualitative and interpretative analysis. The results paint a holistic picture of ADHD children's experiences, reflecting the negative aspects of their inclusive environment. Pragmatic recommendations, based on the results of the study, guide the inclusive practice and support of these children on a daily basis

    Get PDF
This study examines the relationship between intrinsic religiosity and resilience among Tunisian female university students. To achieve this objective, a sample of 244 participants was selected using a self-report method. Participants completed measures assessing intrinsic religiosity and resilience, and the data were analyzed using correlation and linear regression analyses. The results showed a statistically significant, albeit modest, positive correlation between intrinsic religiosity and resilience (p < .001). Furthermore, linear regression analysis showed that intrinsic religiosity accounted for a small but meaningful proportion of the variance in resilience scores (R² = 0.055, p < .001). Based on these findings, it is reasonable to conclude that an increase in intrinsic religiosity contributes to fostering resilience, although this relationship remains modest and is influenced by other unexamined factors. The implications of these findings are discussed in light of the cultural and religious contexts in Tunisia, highlighting the need for further research to explore additional psychological and social factors that may influence this relationship. Finally, this study contributes to the growing body of research on psychological resilience in non-Western, predominantly Muslim contexts, where religiosity may function as a culturally relevant coping mechanism
