The Automation of Document Indexing in Senegalese University Libraries through Artificial Intelligence: Analysis of Practices and Stakeholder Perceptions
Get PDFCet article tente d’étudier à la fois l’usage des outils de l’intelligence artificielle dans la pratique de l’indexation des documents par les documentalistes et bibliothécaires travaillant dans les bibliothèques centrales des universités publiques sénégalaises, plus particulièrement ceux qui sont dans les services de traitement documentaire, mais également leurs perceptions par rapport à l’impact de ces outils dans cette pratique. Cette étude repose sur une méthodologie quantitative avec, comme outil de collecte, le questionnaire. En effet, sur un effectif de 76 professionnels, nous avons choisi un échantillon de 20 travaillant spécifiquement dans les services cités précédemment. Ainsi, cette enquête révèle que la totalité des professionnels interrogés n’utilise pas, pour le moment, les outils de l’intelligence artificielle (IA) pour l’indexation. La plupart d’entre eux ont peur d’utiliser ces outils dans le cadre de l’indexation documentaire, car ils pensent plutôt être remplacés par ces technologies. Ceci étant, la perception ou l’avis des professionnels de l’information documentaire interrogés ici est mitigée. D’aucuns pensent que l’avenir de l’indexation sera prometteur avec les outils de l’intelligence artificielle, et d’autres, en revanche, ont un réel sentiment d’anxiété.

This article aims to examine both the use of artificial intelligence tools in the practice of document indexing by documentalists and librarians working in the central libraries of Senegalese public universities—particularly those in document processing services—and their perceptions of the impact of these tools on this practice. The study is based on a quantitative methodology, using a questionnaire as the data collection tool. Out of a total of 76 professionals, a sample of 20 specifically working in the aforementioned services was selected.The findings reveal that none of the surveyed professionals currently use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for indexing. Most of them are reluctant to use these tools in document indexing due to fears of being replaced by such technologies. As a result, the perceptions or opinions of the surveyed information professionals are mixed. Some believe that the future of indexing will be promising with AI tools, while others, conversely, feel a strong sense of anxiety.

La parole écrite comme marqueur identitaire dans Une Année chez les Français de Fouad Laroui
Get PDFL’écrit et l’oral entretiennent des rapports on ne peut plus étroits. Bien que l’homme passe à l’écrit, ce dernier continue à être alimenté par des éléments de l’oral. Toutefois, cette présence desdits éléments oraux dans les textes écrits n’est, loin s’en faut, pas anodine. C’est dans ce sens que s’inscrit le présent travail en ayant l’ambition de montrer comment la parole écrite opère comme véhicule de l’identité des personnages et ce dans le roman de Fouad Laroui intitulé Une Année chez les Français. Afin de mener à bien ce travail, nous nous sommes largement basés sur les travaux de Mikhaïl Bakhtine, de Catherine Kerbrat-Orecchioni et Dominique Maingueneau en matière d’analyse du discours.

La scénographie muséale comme narration visuelle : entre patrimoine et création artistique
Get PDFCet article explore le rôle de la scénographie muséale en tant que narration visuelle, en se concentrant sur l’exposition permanente d'Agadir Musée d'Art. La recherche examine comment la conception scénographique du musée mêle le patrimoine amazigh à l'art moderne et contemporain marocain pour créer une expérience immersive et éducative pour les visiteurs. L'étude aborde l'influence de la culture amazighe sur les artistes marocains et leurs œuvres. La méthodologie adoptée est qualitative, utilisant l'observation participante, des entretiens semi directifs avec les visiteurs, ainsi qu'une analyse des supports scénographiques et des interactions entre les visiteurs et l'exposition. Les résultats suggèrent que, bien que la scénographie réussisse à créer un dialogue cohérent entre le patrimoine et l'art contemporain, des ajustements dans l'interaction multimédia et le flux de l'exposition pourraient améliorer l'expérience des visiteurs.

No full textThe effects of lateral mass flux, thermal radiation, transverse magnetic field and double diffusion ( Soret and Dufour effects) on heat and mass transfer in a mixed convection boundary layer flow over a heated vertical surface embedded in Darcian porous media have been studied. The Rosseland approximation for the radiative heat flux is used in the energy equation. It is found that the similarity solution exists in the present case. The resulting set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations is solved numerically using shooting technique. Dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are presented graphically against η for various values of the mixed convection parameter RP. The numerical values of local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number have been tabulated for various values of involved parameters and discussed in detail

No full textA hamiltonian system with n degrees of freedom is called completely integrable if there exist n functionally independent smooth functions (constants of the motion) with vanish- ing Poisson brackets. The regular compact level manifolds defined by the intersection of the constants of motion are diffeomorphic to a real torus on which the motion is quasi- periodic as a consequence of the following purely differential geometric fact: a compact and connected n-dimensional manifold on which there exist n vector fields which com- mute and are independent at every point is diffeomorphic to an n-dimensional real torus and each vector field will define a linear flow there. New examples of completely inte- grable hamiltonian systems, which have recently been discovered, are based on the Lax representation of the equations of motion. These systems can be realized as straight line motions on a Jacobi variety of a so-called spectral curve. We make a study of the con- nection with the concept of completely integrable systems and we apply the Lax spectral curve technique to a hamiltonian system which, in a special case and under the gauge group SU(2), can be considered as some reduction of the Yang-Mills field equations. We realize explicitly that the flows generated by the constants of the motion as straight lines on the Jacobi variety of a genus two Riemann surface
