Reproductive Health of Indigenous Women: A Case Study on Monipuri Community at Sylhet District in Bangladesh
The Manipuri Community, also known as the Meitei people, primarily hails from the northeastern Indian state of Manipuri. There is a lack of extensive research on the reproductive health of women in Bangladesh. Generally, Manipuri women go through a disproportionate number of hardships due to their poor socio-economic status, which multiplies their vulnerability. This study aims to explore women's reproductive health status, especially the Manipuri Community. The specific objectives are to assess the socio-economic and demographic conditions of women in the Manipuri community as additionally as the availability and quality of reproductive health facilities for women, investigate the challenges faced by women in accessing reproductive health services, and finally, propose solutions and recommendations to address the identified reproductive health challenges faced by women. The research follows a qualitative case study method and uses a purposive sampling method for selected five Manipuri women to collect information related to reproductive health. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The result of this study is that Manipuri women are suffering from many health problems; they do not know about reproductive health, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroid, gynecologic cancer, HIV/AIDS, STD, and sexual violence. There is no improvement in their health care, sanitation, or communication system. They do not even get any support from their family and neighbors and cannot make any decisions in the family, and in most cases, they do not get respect and support from their society. The results of this research will provide an important guide for policymakers, development practitioners, and social scientists to clear ideas about the reproductive health of peoples, especially in the Munipuri community
The Paucity of Female Educational Leadership in Politically Volatile Context of Zimbabwe: Women Leading Education
Zimbabwe is one country that experienced deep political turmoil soon after attaining independence in 1980. This study explored the intertwining of violent politics, the politics of fieldwork and the paucity of female educational leadership research by examining the volatile contexts within which the process of knowledge construction takes place. The researcher reviewed related literature to gain insights into the impact of volatile context on research. The study provides a review of literature on issues and concepts related to the studies put forward by other scholars within which the study was discussed and analysed. The review of related literature was conducted mainly to analyse three interweaving factors: the visibility of studies on educational leadership and management publications in 2008, migration and political violence in Zimbabwe. The study established that the terror operation (Gukurahundi) waged in Midlands, Matebeleland South and Matebeleland North provinces from 1982 to 1987, the formation of the political opposition party - Movement for Democratic (MDC) and commercial farm invasions in 1999, operation Murambatsvina in 2005 and elections in 2008 are enough evidence that the Mugabe regime developed a tradition of using violence and intolerance as a tool of consolidating political power. These events formed a complex multi-layered volatility that silenced not only academic research but other forms of documentation
Development of The Climate Change Mitigation Practices Scale (CCMPS): An Exploratory Factor Analysis
The pressing issue of climate change necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the mitigation practices individuals engage in to address this global crisis. This study aimed to develop and validate the Climate Change Mitigation Practices Scale (CCMPS) using exploratory factor analysis. Data were collected from 768 respondents in Quezon Province, Philippines through a 19-item questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a two-factor structure: "Energy and Resource Conservation Practices" and "Active Environmental Engagement." The first factor captures behaviors related to conserving energy, water, and reducing waste, while the latter reflects proactive participation in environmental initiatives. The factors exhibited good reliability, with McDonald's omega values of 0.836 and 0.776, respectively. The CCMPS provides an empirically validated measure for assessing distinct yet interrelated dimensions of climate change mitigation practices. This scale contributes to our understanding of pro-environmental behaviors and can inform targeted interventions aimed at promoting sustainable practices on individual, community, and societal levels. Future research should further validate the CCMPS across diverse populations and investigate its relationships with other relevant psychological and contextual variables
Towards Teaching Purposive Communication in the World Englishes Context: Perspectives of Philippine ESL Educators
This mixed-method approach of the study explores the learning outcomes, topics, and assessment methods of Purposive Communication instructional materials in the World Englishes context. Also, it determines the suggestions of Purposive Communication lecturers/instructors in integrating the course into World Englishes. Through Google form, 72 respondents took part in the study. They are all language teachers and are currently handling Purposive Communication in the Philippines' Private/Public Higher Education Institution. The results showed that the respondents are aware of World Englishes concepts and are practicing those concepts in their classroom. However, they have suggestions to publishers/authors of Purposive Communication to integrate other varieties of Englishes in each topic. The researcher suggested that other language courses in the Philippines be evaluated to form a holistic paradigm of World Englishes in the Philippine curriculum.
Phenomenological Inquiry of The Lived Experience of People Living with Breast Cancer
This phenomenological study sought an in-depth understanding of the lived experiences of people living with breast cancer within the context of their day-to-day lives and the emotional burden brought by the disease and analyzed the data using phenomenological methods. A purposive sampling method was used to determine the number of required participants by interviewing women with breast cancer who will meet the inclusion criteria until the data are saturated and no new topics are generated. A total of six (6) women with breast cancer were interviewed. There are two major themes that emerged and describe the lived experiences among patients with breast cancer. These were varied views of people regarding breast cancer and the importance of the support group to a person, especially in overcoming the challenges and difficulties as they go along their journey of beating breast cancer. In conclusion, by using an in-depth interview, this study found out that the experiences of women who were diagnosed with breast cancer have completed the treatment and some have recurrence and ongoing treatment. Also, there is support received from her family, friends, and co-members, which helps them to overcome and cope with stress, especially the treatment. Through early detection, it plays a vital role in managing Breast Cancer. With proper information dissemination and awareness with regards to breast cancer, this could prevent it from late detection, and early management. However, with regard to early detection, they didn’t seek immediate care; rather, they preferred to self-medicate and seek after it worsens

Effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning to Students’ Problem-solving and Critical Thinking Skills: A Systematic Review
The effectiveness of PBL in various fields has been explored for the past decades – in medical schools, higher education schools, and even in K-12 schools. However, its effectiveness relative to students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills remains narrow, mainly in K-12 secondary schools. Moreover, only a few studies have focused on this concern over the last decade. Therefore, this systematic review aims to study the effectiveness of PBL alone and against the conventional model in terms of students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills in secondary school. The study utilized the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) Concept to frame the research questions, followed the seven stages of the Systematic Approach, and employed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) Protocol in selecting and analyzing the ten primary resources generated from online databases such as Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. The resources showed similar quantitative methodology in investigating the effectiveness of PBL at such a level of education. Overall, the analysis shows that 100% of the studies indicated that PBL significantly impacts the students' problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and should be applied in teaching and learning. Furthermore, it is recommended that an extensive, similar study be conducted and possibly include more academic resources to investigate this learning model's actual effectiveness further
Abrasion Resistance of Coarse Aggregate and Compressive Strength of Concrete In Camarines Norte
Concrete has been long used in the field of construction. Coarse aggregate is a major component of concrete, and its size can vary. Abrasion resistance is one of its properties, which depending on the source and size of the aggregate, can impact concrete strength. Throughout the use of concrete, only abrasion resistance of concrete is correlated to the strength of concrete. Thus, this study aims to create a mathematical relation between the abrasion resistance of coarse aggregates and the compressive strength of concrete, considering two nominal maximum sizes from different quarries in Camarines Norte. Experimental methods such as the Los Angeles Abrasion Test, Paired t-test Analysis, The One-Way Analysis of Variance, and Bivariate Correlation Analysis were employed to investigate the substantial correlation between the abrasion resistance of coarse aggregate and the compressive strength from three different quarries, with reference to ASTM and ACI standards governing concrete. The result shows that among the three quarries, only Calabasa attained the standard abrasion resistance of coarse aggregate of 50%. Hence, only in One-Way Analysis of Variance resulted a significant relationship but not in Paired t-test Analysis and Bivariate Correlation
