Changes in Health Center Social Work : An Examination of the "Decline" Factor
Get PDFThis paper examines the factors contributing to the "decline" of health center social work. According to previous studies, the "decline" of health center medical social work was caused by the weakness of health center social workers' efforts, the spread of only methodologies based on the theories of US medical social work, and the worship of modern medicine by the pioneers of prewar medical social work in Japan and social work educators at GHQ. Although this paper has not been able to determine what contributed to the "decline," it has been able to point out that the weakness of health center social work efforts and the expansion of social work operations due to social work's devotion to medical care are "factors" that may explain the "decline" of health center social work.departmental bulletin pape
