Akanthomins A-C, aphidicolin analogs from a fungus Akanthomyces sp., that inhibit cell cycle

    No full text
Natural products that inhibit cell cycle progression may have potential as anticancer agents. In this study, cell cycle inhibition of microbial culture extracts was screened by fluorescent images using HeLa/Fucci2 cells. The culture extract of a fungus, Akanthomyces sp., inhibited the cell cycle progression at the S/G2/M phases, and bioassay-guided fractionation of the extract afforded three previously undescribed aphidicolin derivatives, namely akanthomins A–C, and an undescribed chromone glycoside, specifically 9-hydroxyeugenetin 9-O-β-d-(4-O-methyl)glucopyranoside, in addition to aphidicolin. The chemical structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and chemical derivatization. Using a flow cytometer, akanthomin A and aphidicolin were found to inhibit cell cycle progression at the S phase.journal articl

A study of the harmony and the modulation in “Sechs Walzer, op. 22” by M. Reger

    Get PDF
Max Reger’s music shows one of the most advanced harmonic language in the late German Romantic music. Although his harmony and modulation technique carries enormously rich sonorities and surprising musical gestures, it seems that the repertoire is not often performed in Japanese music scene. It is one of the crucial keys to understand late German Romantic musical style to recognize the art of the complex harmony and modulation, which Reger greatly devoted in his compositions. This paper tries to introduce Reger’s harmonic language by analyzing the chordal progression and the ways of modulation in the first book of his “Sechs Walzer, op. 22 für Klavier 4 händig”. The objective is to consider if they are valuable teaching material for the piano learners and music students.departmental bulletin pape

Considering health education as pertains to the mental health of fifth-sixth grade elementary school students : Impact on positive daily life habits such as exercise, food, and sleep with a focus on protecting mental health

    Get PDF
We implemented a Questionnaire for the purpose of considering health education as pertains to the mental and emotional health of higher-grade elementary school students. We analyzed the answers of 75 people using path analysis. Our results indicate that by stepping up knowledge of the impact of exercise, food, and sleep on physical health, people become more aware of the importance of positive daily life habits pertaining to mental and emotional health. This leads to the adoption of further positive life habits as well as the kind of life habits that help people to feel good all day long. We also clarified that by improving knowledge of the impact of exercise, food, and sleep on mental and emotional health, the greater the motivation to implement exercise, food routines, as well as sleep patterns intended to protect future mental and emotional health―and the greater the possibilities for stressor controls. In the context of health and physical education designed to increase capacity for positive daily life habits for the future at the elementary school level, these results indicate the importance of holding classes that generate scientific knowledge pertaining to the relationship between exercise, food, and sleep and mental and emotional health.departmental bulletin pape
