トクベツ シエン キョウイク ノ コウナイ シエン タイセイ トシテ ノ ケース カイギ ノ イギ
The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of case conferences as an inschool support system in special-needs education, and to present actual support efforts. First, regarding the issues in special-needs education, there has been a rapid increase in the proportion of students eligible for special-needs education, but a significant decline in teachers’ intrinsic motivation. Thus, using the problem-solving model, we argued that case conferences are indeed important and reported on four cases in regular schools. Based on the findings, we highlighted: 1) the effectiveness of the support for the problem solving; 2) the effectiveness of case conferences in improving the function of the in-school support system; and 3) the effective operation of the case conferences as a whole.departmental bulletin pape
“How to Handle a Case of a Pregnant Woman Giving Birth while Revealing her Identity Solely to Part of the Staff at the Medical Institution” A Guideline on Confidential Birth in Japan (September 2022)
On September 30, 2022, the Japanese Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare released a guideline regarding so-called “confidential births”, titled “How to handle a case of a pregnant woman giving birth while revealing her identity solely to part of the staff at the medical institution” (Ninpu ga sono mimoto-jōhō o iryō-kikan no ichibu no mono nomi ni akiraka ni shite shussan shita toki no toriatsukai ni tsuite). The guideline was compiled after Jikei Hospital (Kumamoto)—inspired by the model of the German system of confidential birth implemented in 2014—started to allow women who do not want their pregnancy to be known to their social environment to give birth after revealing their identity solely to a hospital counselor and leave their baby in the hands of the hospital. By providing this German translation of the guideline, the translator hopes to contribute to the bilateral exchange of experiences related to confidential birth and other systems of support for pregnant women in need.departmental bulletin pape
Variation of Case OCP Effects in Odia
This article presents a varied picture in Odia of how two (or more) identically case-marked argument NPs (“same-case pair”) can and cannot occur in a sentence. Regarding this, three types of situations obtain in this language: in one type, which we will call “free occurrence”, a same-case pair can occur in immediate succession; in another type, “limited occurrence”, a same-case pair is allowed only if the NPs of the pair are linearly detached; and in still another type, “excluded occurrence”, a same-case pair is not allowed, irrespective of whether the NPs of the pair are adjacent to, or detached from, each other.
The distribution of these three situation types can be described in terms of two formal criteria: (i) the syntactic context in which a same-case pair is situated (roughly speaking, whether it is found in a simple clause or in a certain species of complex clause); (ii) the items constituting the same-case pair (whether the heads of the NPs of the pair are full nouns or pronouns; whether the case marker on the NP of the pair is an affix or a postposition). Viewed in totality, the distribution of the three situation types follows implicational hierarchies that are motivated by the following two criteria: (i) the more reduced structurally the syntactic context is, the more restrictive it is for the occurrence of same-case pair; (ii) the more perceptually prominent the case marker is, due to the features of constituent items, the more strictly restricted it is for the occurrence of same case pair.
The data reported for Odia in this article helps broaden and elaborate the descriptive and theoretical research space of Case OCP phenomena.departmental bulletin pape

The Intellectual Context for the Editing of Jinj? Sh?gaku-Sh?ka (Songs for Elementary Students) : Focusing on Writings by YUHARA Motoichi, President of Tokyo Music School
The purpose of this paper is to further our understanding of the intellectual context surrounding the editing of Jinj? Sh?gaku-Sh?ka (Songs for Elementary Students) completed in June 1914. To that end, this paper analyzes the writings of YUHARA Motoichi, president of Tokyo Music School and chief editor of the above compilation. YUHARA showed understanding for socialism as he harbored deep concern for the distress of the urban poor. He did not impose a state-centered, totalitarian structure on the people. Moreover, he recommended music not only as fi ne arts of the upper classes, but also as applied art with the purpose of comforting the lower classes. Further, he tried to encourager music teachers who were experts in schoolchildren’s songs, with the goal of raising their awareness as educators. The concerns of YUHARA and his fellow co-editors for the social problems of the 1910s are reflected in the gentleness manifested within Jinj? Sh?gaku-Sh?kadepartmental bulletin pape

When the word-initial voiced dental fricative /ð/ in English disappears
The objective case of the third person plural pronoun, i.e., them often takes the form of 'em when it is pronounced as its weak/unstressed form in informal speech of Present-day Standard English (PSE). Here, however, what the apostrophe abbreviates is not the voiced dental fricative /ð/ sound which is spelled , because this kind of sound-dropping does not seem phonetically relevant. As a matter of fact, this abbreviation is thought to be /h/-dropping of hem, which was the forerunner of them in PSE and used in Middle English; them was a loanword from Old Norse and not derived from the original native pronoun in Old English. Therefore we find that even now we are still using in our spoken language a revised version of the ancient third person plural pronoun. Then, does the word-initial /ð/ sound in English never drop in any environment? In reality, we can say that we do have some examples of that kind. One of such cases is assimilation of the /ð/ sound by the immediately preceding /n/ sound in the strings like in the or on the in informal speech; they sound like /innə/ or /ɔnnə/. Also we have some idioms like at last, etc. or interjections like attaboy, etc., and especially in the latter we are sure to find the phenomenon to be regarded as a pure kind of word-initial /ð/-dropping, because there is no sound at all before the dropped /ð/ sound of the expression.departmental bulletin pape
Inclusive education policy in Sri Lanka : Implications for Low- and Middle-Income Countries
The purpose of this paper is to examine some critical points that need consideration in the formulation of inclusive education policies in low- and middle-income countries, based on the example of Sri Lanka. Upon reviewing the education of children with disabilities and looking back at the history of special education in Sri Lanka, this paper reviewed the introduction of inclusive education and policy formation with a focus on the 1997 Education Reform, National Policy on Disability for Sri Lanka (2023), as well as two policy documents, the 2009 NEREC (National Center for Educational Research Evaluation) Report and 2014 NEC (National Education Commission) Report. Secondly, the 2020 Circular and Guidance Manual, which is the first formal government document on inclusive education, was examined from the viewpoints of 1) the process of identification and assessment of children with disabilities to enrollment in school, and 2) the reorganization of special education units in the whole education system. Finally, this paper suggests a few implications for low- and middle-income countries regarding the formulation of inclusive education policies.departmental bulletin pape
