Imperial Rescript (Shōsho) and Songs for Elementary Students (Shōka) : A Consideration for “Exegesis for Imperial Rescript of 1908 (Boshin Shōsho) ”by Yuhara Motoichi

The purpose of this paper is to further our understanding of the intellectual context surrounding the editing of the Jinjō Shōgaku-Shōka (Songs for Elementary Students) completed in June 1914. To that end, this paper analyzes the “Exegesis for Imperial Rescript of 1908 (Boshin Shōsho)” by Yuhara Motoichi who was the president of Tokyo Music School and chief editor of the above compilation. The Imperial Rescript of 1908 promulgated on October 13, 1908 after the Russo-Japanese War is also called the “Kinken (勤倹: diligence and frugality) Shōsho”. The virtue of diligence and frugality were common themes within Shōsho and Shōka. For example, a song “Ninomiya Kinjiro” for the second grade symbolized this. However, the facts are not so simple. The main points of the commentary book for Imperial Rescript of 1908 which Yuhara published on May 10, 1909 are the idea of international coordination, the establishment of social policy, and the pursuit of utilitarianism. In other words, he was unrelated to narrow-minded nationalism which was popular at the time and did not respect any personal effort which is based on Confucian morality.departmental bulletin pape

An exploratory study on the subject contents of 'Special Subject Morality' : Focusing on 'respect for rules'

In this paper, we first consider in a general and sketchy way what is required to execute inquiry about the subject content of 'Special Subject Morality.' Then, we take the content item 'respect for rules' as an example and consider what we have to "think and discuss" about it while touching upon some representative teaching materials and their challenges. By doing so, we hope to provide a model case for beginning the inquiry of the subject content of 'Special Subject Morality' and offer some suggestions for improving the learning content on 'respect for rules.'departmental bulletin pape

Synthesis, antibacterial activity, in silico ADMET prediction, docking, and molecular dynamics studies of substituted phenyl and furan ring containing thiazole Schiff base derivatives

This study synthesized eighteen phenyl and furan rings containing thiazole Schiff base derivatives 2(a–r) in five series, and spectral analyses confirmed their structures. The in vitro antibacterial activities of the synthesized analogs against two gram-positive and two gram-negative bacteria were evaluated by disk diffusion technique. Compounds (2d) and (2n) produced prominently high zone of inhibition with 48.3 ± 0.6 mm and 45.3 ± 0.6 mm against B. subtilis, respectively, compared to standard ceftriaxone (20.0 ± 1.0 mm). However, the antibacterial potency of the compounds with furan ring was more notable than that of phenyl ring-containing derivatives. Molecular docking and dynamic study were performed based on the wet lab outcomes of (2d) and (2n), where both derivatives remained in the binding site of the receptors during the whole simulation time with RMSD and RMSF values below 2 nm. In silico ADMET prediction studies of the synthesized compounds validated their oral bioavailability. A more detailed study of the quantitative structure-activity relationship is required to predict structural modification on bioactivity and MD simulation to understand their therapeutic potential and pharmacokinetics.journal articl

Students and teacher at all schools asked questions and made comments about the topics they wanted to understand pertaining to health, and about steps they wished to take (but couldn't) pertaining to health. The Junior High School Student Health Committee gave presentations designed to answer these questions. We analyzed subsequent changes in awareness levels amongst the students on School Health Activities as well as knowledge and awareness of factors such as sleep and meals of all students in a school and verified the impact. Our results indicate that the presentations of the Junior High School Student Health Committee served to raise awareness and boost knowledge of sleep and meals amongst students at all schools, bringing about a positive impact on awareness of students on the Junior High School Student Health Committee.departmental bulletin pape
