Why vitamin D is important and how to access the important resources?
Background: Vitamin D was important for health. It regulated calcium and phosphate absorption, strengthens bones; muscles, and improved the body’s immunity. There were multiple resources for it, but its deficiency led to various health problems. Aim: The study aimed to review literature to understand the nature and optimal time for exposure to sunrays for gaining vitamin D. Method: The searcher conducted the literature through health organizations such as Up-To-Date, Medline, Pro-Quest–Medline Index, Clinical Key, CDC, WHO, Google Scholar, and PubMed. Result: Vitamin D had various benefits for vital body function as well as its reduction led to serious problems, so the recommended daily oral dose was 600 IU which increased among the population with vitamin D deficiency. Exposed of the face, arms, legs, or back to sun rays for an average of 15 minutes between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. two to three times per week was enough for cholecalciferol production. Conclusion: Vitamin D was important for the body function. The skin had the ability to synthesize vitamin D3 when exposed to sunlight during the day, especially in the summer; the peak time was 11:00 am to 2 pm. 
Acute renal failure as a manifestation of multiple myeloma frequency and clinical implications
Objective: Aim was to determine the association and clinical implications of renal failure among patients of multiple myeloma. Study Design: Prospective/observational study. Place and Duration: Diagnostic and research Laboratory Liaquat university of Medical and health sciences jamshoro Hyderabad. June 2021 to may 2022. Methods: Total 192 patients of multiple myeloma were presented in this study. Patients were enrolled after obtaining written consent detailing age, sex, and the presence or absence of any and all comorbidities. A serum creatinine level of 177 mol/L or above (>2 mg/dL) was considered indicative of renal failure. All the patients received chemotherapy for recovery. Response rate to chemo and survival among all patients were determined. SPSS 23.0 was used to analyze all data. Results: There were 106 (55.2%) males and 86 (44.8%) cases were females. Patients mean age was 51.6 ±13.46 years. Chronic renal disease, diabetes, hypercalcemia, dehydration, and the use of nephrotoxic medicines were all risk factors. We found renal failure in 43 (22.4%) cases. Patients without renal failure had higher response rate 90 (60.4%) to chemotherapy as compared to patients of renal failure 16 (37.2%). 13 (30.2%) cases were recovered from renal failure and mean time of survival was 3.3±3.18 years. 
Correlation between type 2 diabetes mellitus and corneal dysfunction
Globally, diabetes has emerged as an important health concern because of various adverse events on the ocular tissue and other parts of human body. The present study was conducted to determine the correlation between type 2 DM and corneal thickness in Basrah province. One year at the Department of Ophthalmology, fifty individuals with type 2 DM on medical treatment and 25 healthy control non-diabetics subjects were enrolled. The central corneal thickness was measured using an anterior segment tomography. Male were 53% and female were 47%. Though male with DM were 56% and 48% were non-diabetic. While female DM were 44% and 52% were non-diabetic. There was no significant difference. About 24% aged below forty, whereas 76% were aged above forty, without significant. The DM patients have high mean CCT (549±23 µ) than non-diabetic subjects (501±18 µ), with a high statistical difference (P= 0.049). The central corneal thickness was found to be higher in patients with type 2 DM when compared to non-diabetics. Individuals with type 2 DM have thicker corneas as compared to non-diabetics. Low birth weight and preterm infants nursing care: An updated review
Background: Low birth weight (LBW) and preterm infants face significant challenges due to their underdeveloped systems. These fragile infants require specialized nursing care to optimize their outcomes, yet the literature lacks high-quality, evidence-based guidelines for their management. This review highlights the nursing interventions crucial for supporting extremely low gestational age infants, emphasizing family-integrated care (FICare) and optimal environmental management. Aim: The purpose of this review is to synthesize current evidence and provide updated recommendations for nursing care in LBW and preterm infants, focusing on family involvement, skin barrier management, temperature regulation, and minimizing pain and stress. Methods: This mini-review synthesizes existing literature on the nursing management of preterm and LBW infants. It includes studies on family-integrated care, skin barrier function, heat and humidity management, pain minimization, and routine caregiving interventions. Key themes were identified, and evidence supporting clinical practices was examined to provide updated care recommendations. Results: Family-integrated care (FICare) was found to significantly improve infant outcomes by enhancing parental involvement, promoting early skin-to-skin contact, and fostering shared decision-making. Skin barrier management, including minimizing insensible water loss (IWL) through environmental control such as incubator humidification, was shown to be critical for reducing fluid loss and supporting skin integrity. 
Application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound to evaluate skeletal muscle perfusion in lower extremity arteriosclerotic obliterans of type 2 diabetes mellitus
To evaluate the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in evaluating skeletal muscle perfusion in Type 2 diabetic patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis occlusion. 80 patients with type 2 diabetes were prospectively studied and divided into two groups: 40 patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans(observation group)and 40 diabetic volunteers with normal lower extremity arteries(control group).All subjects were subjected to the same contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) technique before and after exercise to observe the changes of skeletal muscle blood perfusion in the calf, and the time to peak(TTP)of skeletal muscle blood perfusion parameters in the two groups were compared. The time-intensity curve established by mathematical model showed that TTP in the observation group was significantly longer than TTP in the control group in the resting state and after exercise, with statistical significance(P<0.05). TTP had no significant correlation with age, hypertension and other factors(P>0.05). TTP was correlated with ankle-brachial index (ABI)(P<0.05). In conclusion, CEUS can objectively reflect the changes of skeletal muscle perfusion in patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliteration before and after exercise, and it is a new diagnostic method and evaluation index to observe the changes of skeletal muscle perfusion in patients with type 2 diabetes
Effect of circuit training on BMI and health physical fitness of overweight female students
This study aimed to investigate how circuit training exercise affected the BMI and health-related fitness of overweight female students in Baghdad. A sample of 30 female students classified as heavyweight based on their BMI, were selected for the study. The sample was divided into an experimental group of 15 and a control group of 15. It was noticed that there was a significant statistical difference (p > 0.05) in the average body mass index before the exercises (35.4 ± 3.4) and after the exercises (30.9 ± 2.9). The study reported significant improvements (p > 0.001) in the health-related physical fitness components of the experimental group
Utility of combined use of elastography and von Willebrand factor antigen/thrombocyte ratio in prediction of gastroduodenal mucosal portal hypertension related vascular lesions
Background: Liver cirrhosis is the most important cause of portal hypertension, esophageal varices (EVs) represent its major complication as they may rupture and bleed with increased mortality rate. vWF-Ag is an established and valuable marker for determining the grade of fibrosis and cirrhosis and for mortality in patients with cirrhosis. Aim of our work is to search for the utility of combined use of elastography and Von Willebrand Factor Antigen/Thrombocyte Ratio in prediction of gastroduodenal portal hypertension related vascular lesions and identify suitable cutoff values for predicting these lesions. Patients and methods: 80 cirrhotic patients, were divided into 2 main groups, Group I included 20 patients with no evidence of portal hypertension related vascular lesions as verified by endoscopic examination (disease control group), group II, included patients with vascular lesions and was divided into 3 subgroups groups, group IIa included 20 patients with esophageal varices or gastro-esophageal varices, group IIb included 20 patients with isolated gastric varices, group IIc included 20 patients with portal hypertension related lesions other than esophageal and gastric varices. 
Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Lepidium meyenii and testing their antimicrobial activity
Lepidium meyenii herb (maca) belongs to the cruciferous family that includes broccoli, radish, watercress, cabbage and turnip. It is also available as a dietary supplement in the form of capsules and liquid extracts. Silver nanoparticles were made using the aqueous extract of maca root for the first time locally and worldwide. As a reducing agent, the extract was utilized. Several approaches were used to diagnose silver nanoparticles, including scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, FT-IR and UV-vis spectrophotometer analyses. The diagnostic results showed the formation of nanoparticles in various shapes, with a diameter ranging from 56.11 nanometers. The optimum conditions for the bio-synthesis of silver nanoparticles were determined. The optimal conditions were pH 7, 37 °C, with a concentration of 1 mmol silver ions. These are the ideal conditions for making silver nanoparticles from L.meyenii. The antibacterial effectiveness of biosynthesized AgNP against Staphylococcus aureus was found to be very significant. This work promotes green synthesis of AgNP for a range of applications that require low toxicity and are ecologically friendly
Potential of lactic acid bacteria from wong tea can reduce rats' blood serum cholesterol levels
Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) isolated from wong tea which have the potential to be probiotic candidates generally have the ability to reduce cholesterol levels. This research uses BAL isolate from wong tea as a probiotic drink that can lower cholesterol. The LAB isolate used is resistant to low pH, resistant to microbial activity (S. aureus and E. coli) and resistant to bile salts. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving LAB from wong tea to reduce blood serum cholesterol levels in mice in vitro. The research design used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 5 treatments giving BAL and each treatment was repeated 4 times. Giving BAL for 14 (fourteen) days is carried out in batches. Total LAB was carried out using the surface method on MRS agar, Gram staining using the staining method, cholesterol levels were measured using a cholesterol kit using the CHOD-PAP enzymatic method. The total research results of Wong tea's LAB ranged from 1.23 x 109 to 2.20 x 109 cfu/ml. The isolation process obtained by Gram staining showed positive Gram staining results in the form of rods. 
Application of anode heel effect (AHE) with stepwedge and variation of x-ray tube voltage to contrast to noise ratio (CNR) in computed radiography (CR)
A study has been carried out on the application of anode heel effect (AHE) with stepwedge to variations in X-ray tube voltage on contrast to noise ratio (CNR) on computed radiography (CR) images. Stepwedge used with 21 steps with the addition of a thickness of 1.5 mm each step. X-ray tube voltage variations are 40kV, 50 kV, 60 kV, 70 kV, 80 kV, and 90 kV. Analysis of the variation of the X-ray tube voltage on the CNR value was determined using IMB SPSS Statistics 26 with a simple regression test. The results of these tests indicate that the variation of the X-ray tube voltage affects the CNR value, where the greater the variation of the X-ray tube voltage, the lower the CNR value. The CNR value at a thickness of 27.0 mm is the optimal CNR value of 71.11
