Arthroscopic correlation of clinical and M.R.I. findings in anterior cruciate ligament and meniscal tear
ACL and meniscal tears are common among individuals with knee injuries. MRI is a good non-invasive method for diagnosing soft tissue injuries of the Knee, but an Orthopaedic surgeon can diagnose an ACL or meniscal tear safely with the help of a careful physical examination, and MRI may not be required in such cases. The progression of arthroscopy has encouraged its use for diagnosing knee injuries. 1. Correlate clinical and MRI findings with arthroscopic findings in cases of anterior cruciate ligament and meniscal tear. 2. Find out the specificity, sensitivity, negative and positive predictive values of these methods compared to arthroscopy. 3. Justify whether MRI can be omitted as a definitive investigation and reserved only for complex cases. Study was conducted on patients presenting with a knee injury with features of instability in the Orthopaedics outpatient department over two years. Patients between the ages 18 and 65 who were suspected of having an ACL and meniscus tear were included. A thorough clinical examination, MRI, and arthroscopy were performed on the affected Knee joint. The clinical, MRI, and arthroscopic findings were recorded and compared

The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (Michael Argyle and Peter Hills, 2002) assessed happiness. The data were analysed using the SPSS -21 versions. The 2 X 2 Factorial MANOVA was applied for analyzing the scores of coping strategies and Stressful life and the multivariate effect of between subject factor (gender) is insignificant irrespective of age groups, Wilk’s λ=0.98, F (4,123) = 0.58, p>=0.05, multivariate η2= 02. Multivariate effect of within -subject factor (Location) is significant irrespective of gender groups, Wilk’s λ=0.90, F (4,123) = 3.47, p<=0.05, multivariate η2= 10. There is no significant multivariate effect across the interaction between the gender and location, Wilk’s λ=0.95, F (4,123) = 1.67, p>=0.05, multivariate η2= 05
To study the treatment of comminuted patellar fractures using modified cerclage wiring
Aim: To study the treatment of comminuted patellar fractures using modified cerclage wiring. Methods: This study was done in the department of Orthopedics, after taking the permission from the ethical committee. 50 cases of simple unilateral closed comminuted patellar fracture were treated by modified cerclage wiring. During follow-up, the Böstman clinical grading measures were used to evaluate the effects of the surgery in eight areas: range of mobility, discomfort, work, atrophy, assistance in working, effusion, giving way, and stair-climbing. 28–30 points were outstanding, 20–27 points were decent, and fewer than 20 points were low on these measures. Results: Using Böstman's clinical grading systems, the ultimate follow-up average score was 29.2 (range 19–30). The average score of 41 (82%) exceptional patients was 29.2±0.6, while the average score of 9 (18%) good patients was 25.11±1.9. Patients' knee flexion activity range was 130° (range 110–140), and the prognosis was favourable. Conclusion: A unique and successful strategy for treating a comminuted patellar fracture is modified cerclage wiring. This approach can give a firm and secure fixation, allow patients to do early functional exercises, and has a positive therapeutic impact
Effectiveness of learning strategies (cognitive and metacognitive) in the academic identity development among the students of Tehran University of applied sciences
The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of teaching cognitive and metacognitive strategies in academic identity among the students of Tehran University of Applied Sciences. This is an applied research in terms of purpose and a quasi-experimental study in terms of method, with pre/post-test, follow-up phase, and control group. The statistical population included all students of the University of Applied Sciences in the academic year of 2020-2021. Due to the need for training treatment protocol, the samples (30 participants) were selected through a convenience sampling method. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 20 students were randomly assigned to the experimental groups (10 in the cognitive learning strategies group and 10 in the metacognitive learning strategies group) and 10 students were assigned into to the control group. Data was collected using Waz and Isaacson Educational Identity Questionnaire (2008). Cognitive and metacognitive strategies were trained to the experimental groups for 8 sessions. Data were analyzed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA (between-subject and within-subject mixed design). The results confirmed the effectiveness of teaching cognitive strategies in academic identity development
