Introduction: The aesthetic dentistry mainly involves restoring the best smile back to the patients. This mainly involves the tooth colour, proper alignment, with proper shape of the tooth and also with all the properties of the tooth. The dental instruments are used to examine, clean, cut and restore the tooth structures. They mainly consist of hand-held, auxiliary and rotary instruments. Aim: To evaluate the knowledge and awareness of the armamentarium used in the aesthetic restorative procedure. Materials and method: The survey was conducted by preparing the questionnaire pertaining to the topic and it was circulated through an online portal. The participants were informed in detail about the study and the informed consent was obtained for everyone and they participated willingly. The response collected and observations were made. Results and discussion: From the responses obtained it was seen that the students were about the aesthetic restorative procedures, aware of the hand instruments used for operative dentistry, common shade used in the composite restoration. Uses of plastic instruments. They also had good knowledge on the duration that the restoration lasts
Effect of flavonoids on bond strength of dentin adhesives: A systematic review
The effectiveness of adhesive restorations depends on a durable long-term dentin bond. Due to collagen fibril denaturation, the consistency and durability of bonding to caries-affected dentin can be questioned as compared to sound dentin. Exogenous cross-linking agents have been suggested as a viable method of inhibiting MMP activity and retaining collagen within the dentin-bonded interface. Due to their strong antioxidant capacity, flavonoids are natural cross linkers that play an important role in protecting unprotected collagen fibrils inside the hybrid layer. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of flavonoids incorporated dentin adhesives in improving the bond strength of composite resin. A search was performed in the electronic databases (PUBMED CENTRAL, Medline, Scopus, Lilacs, Science Direct, Google scholar and Hand Search) using search terms alone and in combination by means of PUBMED search builder upto March 2021. Also cross check of reference was done on all potentially eligible articles. Initially 47 articles were identified.2 articles were removed because of duplicates. After title and abstract screening 27 articles were removed. After reading full texts,4 articles were removed and finally 14 articles were included in this review for detailed analysis
Comparison of conventional incision and drainage versus ultrasound guided minimally invasive techniques in management of the breast abscess: A prospective cohort study
Background: The feasibility of ultrasound guided minimally invasive techniques in management of breast abscess has been a topic of concern from a long time thus, resulting in many studies. Objectives: To assess the feasibility and to compare ultrasound guided minimally invasive techniques with conventional incision and drainage in breast abscess management Materials and Methods: Patients admitted in Surgery Department / OPD with BREAST ABSCESS (total 60 patients) were divided into two random groups of 30 patients each using random number tables. Group 1 was treated by conventional incision and drainage, Group 2 was treated by ultrasound guided minimally invasive techniques. Chi-square test was used. Results: For group 2, the average pain(VAS) score was 4.7 with minimal bleeding during the procedure, no need of dressing, average duration of stay 0.47 days, average days required for complete recovery is 13 days and excellent cosmesis as compared to group 1 where average pain score was 7, mild bleeding occurred in all cases with requiring an average of 10 days of dressing, all healed leaving a scar, average days required for complete recovery is 28 days and thus only satisfactory cosmesis with average 3.1 days of hospital stay
Design of learner-centered literature and pop culture class using multimedia technology during the pandemic, crisis of public health
This study analyzes the effective classes of literature and popular culture, which are one of the liberal arts elective subjects in S University. This course is aimed at students from 1st to 4th graders of different majors, and the learning goal was not just to appreciate literary works, but to improve their ability to understand them in an easy and fun way, and to apply them to real life. This study examines how the literature class, the source of popular culture in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, can motivate students to learn and produce learning effects by using multimedia rather than the existing traditional method. In this study, the instructional procedure of a class that attracted a lot of students' attention among the classes that took place during the semester was presented as an example. In detail, the researcher conducted a pre-class survey and, through the results, grasped the level of background knowledge of the students and the characteristics of the learner, and proceeded with the class.
