Stability of single 3-D trapezoidal plate in condylar fracture in comparison to 2 Miniplates: A prospective clinical study
Background: Condylar fractures account for one third of all mandibular fractures being in the range of 17.5–52%1, 2 of all mandibular fractures. The main goal in the treatment of condylar fractures is to predictably restore pre-injury anatomical form, with associated aesthetics and function. Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy and stability of single 3-D trapezoidal condylar plate and compare it with 2.0mm conventional miniplates in the Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of mandibular sub-condylar fractures. Methods: This study was conducted on 20 patients with subcondylar fracture.10 patients were allotted by random sampling in each Group. 3-D trapezoidal condylar plates were used in Group A and 2.0mm conventional minplates were used in Group B. The mini retromandibular surgical approach was common to both the groups. Function and stability was assessed post operatively at 1st, 3rd and 6th month respectively. Results: Intergroup analysis showed no statistically significant difference in results with respect to function and the stability of the fractured fragments. Conclusion: 3D trapezoidal condylar plates are more stable and structurally more efficient in reducing the torque forces leading to better osteosynthesis
Comparative study of postpartum correction of anaemia by iron sucrose vs blood transfusion
Aim: The aim of the study is to know whether intravenous iron sucrose can be a better alternative in terms of safety and efficacy over blood transfusion in the treatment of anaemia in post-partum. Materials and methods: This are prospective study is conducted in obstetrics and gynaecology Department . All these women are randomly assigned (50 women total , 25 in each group) to receive either 2 doses of intravenous iron sucrose(Group A) or blood transfusion (Group B). Haemoglobin, hemocrit, mean corpuscular volume and serum ferritin estimation is done before treatment and after 1 wk. of correction in both groups to note the improvement in values and monitored for adverse reactions. Results: There is statically significant rise in haemoglobin , hemocrit , mean corpuscular volume , and serum ferritin levels when compared to baseline after 1 week of treatment in both groups. Statistically insignificant rise in mean Hb,Hct was observed when iron sucrose group is compared to blood transfusion group. Conclusion: Intravenous iron sucrose is safe , efficacious and cost-effective treatment for post-partum anaemia. It may be an attractive to blood transfusion which may be associated with minor and major reactions

Conflict resolution between local residents and migrants in South Lampung Regency
This study focuses on (1) the factors that cause conflict between local residents and migrants, (2) the forms of conflict involving local residents and migrants, (3) conflict resolution between the two warring parties. The theory used in this research is, first, the Identity Theory proposed by Fisher, which says that conflict occurs because of a threatened identity in the pattern of community social relations. Second, Destructive Conflict Theory that arises because of feelings of dislike, hatred and resentment from a person or group against other parties caused by certain factors, and Ralf Dahrendorf's third Conflict Theory which says that conflict will lead to change and development. This study uses a qualitative approach which is carried out in its entirety to research subjects about horizontal conflicts with religious and cultural points of view. The method used is observation, interviews (field research) and literature study (library research) with data analysis techniques with qualitative interpretation. To explain the sociological phenomena observed in the field in accordance with the meaning given by the research subjects
E-learning education problems facing nursing students in Jordanian universities during COVID-19 pandemic confinement
Background: E-learning is a relatively new and rapidly growing trend in nursing education, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 epidemic. Thus, it is critical to accurately identify the problems and alternatives that obstruct and enforce the type of learning that intends to encourage and enable nursing students' usage of e-learning. Objective: This study examined the problems encountered by nursing students pursuing Baccalaureate degrees at four Jordanian public and private universities as they transitioned from face-to-face to e-learning education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study enrolled 260 participants across four years from nursing faculties at four prominent public and private universities in Amman. They were asked to complete an electronic survey on a 30-item Likert scale. Result: While there are no statistically significant differences in the e-learning education problems encountered by nursing students at Jordanian universities according to gender or year level, this does not mean that the problems encountered by female and male students at various year levels are identical). There are statistically significant differences (=0.05) in the e-learning education problems faced by nursing students at Jordanian universities, with private universities outperforming public universities
How technology transform innovative educational solution during pandemic disruption
This paper discussed technology transformation strategies to create educational solutions during a pandemic. The government's policy is to optimize distance learning using technology because it closes schools and continues learning from outside. So we reviewed many publications and other literature sources to gain understanding and perspectives of experts, which are scientific evidence from the field of how technology transforms more innovative educational solutions during our efforts to examine information to get answers to the questions of this study through a phenomenological approach, an attempt to looking for answers by studying the evaluation of the data, interpreting the data and drawing conclusions by considering the principles of high validity and trustworthiness. Finally, we conclude that some strategies result from learning innovations that are useful during the pandemic, including technology that can increase the interest in learning of motivating students, as well as leisure-based education, internet-based distance multimedia, and everything that education is based on data. Among other things, we can conclude that we hope that this is a valuable finding for the development of similar studies in the future, both in academic and field contexts
Alienation among university graduates in relation to their selected demographic factors and parental behavior
This present research was conducted to investigate the levels of alienation among the university graduates and addressed whether gender, habitat, stream of study, caste, education level, age, father and mother’s behavior have relationship in causing the sense of alienation. The study was carried out among a sample of 160 graduates studying in the university. For collecting data “Alienation Scale” constructed by Hardeo Ojha, self reported personal data sheet and parental behaviour scale developed by researchers were used in the study. The results indicated that the university graduates level of alienation is moderate and no statistically significant difference in the university graduates levels of alienation based on gender, habitat, stream of study, caste, education level, age but there exist significant differences based on parental behavior
Comparison between placental 3D power Doppler and uterine artery pulsatility index in early prediction of pre-eclampsia
Aim of the work: To compare between placental 3D Power Doppler vascular indices and uterine artery pulsatility index in early prediction of preeclampsia. Methods: The prospective comparative observational cohort study included 200 women in their first trimester at 11–14 weeks of pregnancy divided into 2 groups. 100 women with no risk factor to develop preeclampsia (control group), 100 women with any risk factor to develop preeclampsia (case group). All women were examined by 3D abdominal ultrasound, Blood flow in placenta was examined using 3D power Doppler technique for the placental vascular indices. Uterine artery pulsatility index was also assessed. All Patients were followed up to the end of their pregnancies and their medical files reviewed to obtain whether patients developed preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders. Results: Overall, 17 women developed pre-eclampsia while 183 women remained normotensive (7 out of 100 women in the control group and 10 out of 100 women in the case group). In both groups the women with pre-eclampsia had significantly lower placental vascular indices (vascularization-index, flow index, and vascularization flow index) compared with the normotensive women. In contrast, women with pre-eclampsia in both groups had significantly high mean uterine pulsatility index compared with the normotensive women
Urinary nephrin as a marker of nephropathy in obese prediabetic patients
Background: One of the most important complications of obesity and prediabetes is nephropathy. In the Eastern Mediterranean area, the incidence of obesity is always growing. In Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, the highest level of obesity is found in 15-year-old adults and also in older adults. Obesity and overweight are prevalent in the preceding countries at rates ranging from 69% to 77% in men and 74% to 80% in women, making it critical to distinguish nephropathy in these patients for a better prognosis. Objective: To assess the level of urine nephrin as a nephropathy marker in obese and prediabetic patients. Patients and Methods: This was cross-sectional observational research that included 90 people. Their ages varied from 30 to 70 years old, and they came from Dar El-Shefa hospital's outpatient clinic between December 2019 and May 2020. The study was explained to all participants, and their informed consent was acquired before the start of the trial. The subjects were split into three groups: group I (thirty normoalbuminuric obese non-diabetic patients), group II (thirty normoalbuminuric obese pre-diabetic patients), and group III (thirty healthy control)
