    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to explore the Ethnomathematics of Balinese Traditional Houses primarily concerned with Balinese Traditional Carvings and Buildings. The type of this research is exploration. Objects of this research are 3 carvers and 2 builders of Balinese Traditional Houses. Ethnomathematical Data of Balinese Traditional Houses were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews. Observations were conducted to obtain data on the application of mathematical ideas on Balinese Traditional Carvings and Buildings while questionnaires were used to obtain data on the profile of research objects and Ethnomathematics. Interviews were conducted to verify data. Furthermore, the research data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this research is a kind of Ethnomathematics about Balinese Traditional House Carvings using a concept of similarity, shift and reflection; and Ethnomathematics of Balinese Traditional Buildings using measurements of lengkat, nyari, and rai

Continuous time H-infinity filter with asymptotic convergence

    No full text
In this paper H-infinity, a posteriori filter (HIPF) is converted to a continuous time H-infinity (HI) filter. Then, an observer is presented which uses the gain and the state error Gramian from the continuous time HI filter (CTHF). Asymptotic stability result of the observer’s error dynamics is derived using the Lyapunov energy functional. The performance of the CTHF is evaluated using numerical simulations carried out in MATLAB. These results establish the local stability of the underlying CTHF. This type of result is novel in the literature on HI theory of filters and the observers

Water quality of the poza honda dam and other water points down

    Get PDF
The phenomenon of pollution of water basins is eliminating many potential water resources. Most of the pollution in Ecuador comes from household waste and agricultural chemicals, especially along the coast. One of the activities in the management of the water resource is the periodic monitoring of the bodies of water, being able to determine the different changes that occur and to influence through preventive actions that manage to reduce the pollution. The water resource is the articulating axis of all the activities in a territory and therefore of the populations that develop different productive activities that not only depend on the quantity and quality of this resource but also generate alterations to the natural state of the same. In the investigation, the monitoring of the quality of the water in different points of the Poza Honda dam and of the river Portoviejo is carried out. The study aims to manage the pollution processes that occur in the aquifer, due to the depositions of domestic, industrial and agricultural wastewater not controlled to be discharged

Comparison between the material improvement of the megarok and san josé quarries, applying the AASTHO standards

    Get PDF
Comparative analyzes were carried out between the materials of the Magarok and San José quarries, taking into account AASTHO standards with the objective of being used as a base / sub-base in the pavement structure. The asphalt emulsion material was stabilized to increase the strength and give the material sub-base and / or base characteristics, with a suitable mixing design, obtaining results with suitable characteristics to be used in the pavement structure composed of a 65 % Asphalt AC 20; 34.30% water and 0.70% ASFIER 121 emulsions, with good resistance to the stability of the materials

The influence of the 5 A's intervention towards teenagers attitude in consuming liquor at Kupang City

    Get PDF
Liquor was an alcoholic beverage consist of Ethanol. The liquor effects changed the teenager's behavior and could be occurred a disease that was harmful to our body. The 5 A's interventions could be conducted to change attitudes. Regarding three domains i.e. cognitive domains, affective domains and conative domains. The research type was an experiment quasi with randomized pre-test post-test control group design. The sample was taken from 20 respondents for the conventional group and 20 respondents for the 5 A's intervention group. The results stated that the 5 A's intervention group was able to change attitudes on the 3 domains those were cognitive, affective, and conative

The present study aims to map out the central of production, processing, marketing, and service centers of Minapolitan regions in Gianyar regency. The Research sites were determined by purposive sampling in Tampaksiring and Blahbatuh sub-districts, with a basic consideration i.e. both sub-districts were planned as centers for the regional development of fisheries in Gianyar regency. To map the minapolitan regions, the data were analyzed by using GIS (Geographic Information System). The present study discovers some centers of production, processing, marketing, and service centers for Minapolitan regions namely Pering village and some coastal villages in Blahbatuh which were also supported by several coastal villages in Gianyar and Sukawati sub-district and Sanding village in Tampaksiring sub-district. The findings of this study suggest that the regional development may help to the following purposes: (1) improving the well-being, quality of life, ability, and capacity of the economic and social rural communities (2) increasing the bonding communities around the region who have the responsibility to preserve and secure the natural resources; (3) improving quality, productivity, and security of the region; (4) creating jobs, increasing the numbers of employment and income of the country as well as public revenue; (5) encouraging and accelerating the regional development in order to achieve progress and the region's autonomy

The number of leydig cells, sertoli cells, and spermatogonia are lower towards a little rats that their parent given genistein during periconception period

The testis was composed by the cells of Leydig, Sertoli, and Spermatogenic. The cells formation itself was able to be disrupted by exposure to an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) since the prenatal period. The research was intended to prove that Genistein could obstruct the formation of Leydig cells, Sertoli cells, Spermatogenic of rats. The randomized post-test only control group design method was conducted towards white female Wistar rats, 12-13 weeks old, has been had one child, could normally eat and drink. The analysis unit was the child of mother rat treatment group that given Genistein of 10 mg/kg/day and the control group that received distilled water, each of them were 15. The research was done in the Laboratory of Faculty of Veterinary Medical, Udayana University, from January to July 2016. The computer was used for analyzing the data using, with ? of 0.05. The result was the Genistein child had an average of 5.464 Sertoli cell, 11.120 Leydig cell, and 48.427 spermatogonia, whereas, the control group had an average of 8.173 Leydig cells, 12.987 Sertoli cells, and 69.547 spermatogonia. There were significant differences between the two groups (p 0.000). The conclusion was that an average of Leydig cells, Sertoli cells, and Spermatogonia lower in children whose their parent rats given Genistein during periconception period

Curriculum development training improvement in the competence geological disaster mitigation community based

This research was motivated still many natural disasters in Indonesia. Geological disasters would always be an important issue in the Indonesian Nation as a consequence of Indonesia's geological conditions unique region, rich in natural resources but full of potential disasters. Disaster handling required the participation of all components of the nation led to the importance of the massive dissemination of disaster information to all levels of society. Unfortunately, the competence of members of the community who were still considered weak in disaster mitigation and counseling techniques became constraints the achievement of objectives disaster-conscious society. Increased competence was absolutely necessary and training could be selected as an option to improve competence. Research conducted using the method of research and development which was divided into three main stages. First, the needs analysis as a preliminary study, the second, the development of a model curriculum, and the third trials of the curriculum model to determine the effectiveness in improving the competence fields of geological disaster mitigation

Community power as a driving force for sustainable local development

    Get PDF
Beyond the controversial debate about the causes of the depletion of the natural resources and the environmental deterioration of the planet, the world society is determined in the search of solutions to the energetic subject, that unquestionably pass for the appropriate use of the renewable sources of energy, through The efficient use of resources and sustainability as a guiding criterion in the energy scheme. The paper offers a historical analysis of energy development on a global scale, interpreting the causes that have led to the depletion of natural resources, as well as the progressive deterioration of environmental conditions, valuing the concepts related to the Community Power, as an alternative for the construction of socially sustainable territories, from a scheme, focused on local development models. The results obtained are shown from studies of solar and wind potential
