This paper talks about how the psychoanalytical approach could be used in literature to interpret the text, to understand the psychological development of the character and the psyche of the author. Lawrence, being inspired by Freud has produced works like Sons and Lovers, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, etc. that cries out for psychoanalytical interpretation of the text. In the novel Sons and Lover, the paper focuses on how the over the domineering power of the love of a mother and how her jealousy restricts her son's desire for other women? Ultimately the mother wins by her blood ties over another woman? Also how the early psychological development of the child affects their personality in the later stage of life? In Lady Chatterley’s Lover, we see how Connie’s repressed sexual desires led her to infidelity in spite of the class difference. Unhappy in married life, due to her husband’s physical disability, Connie has suppressed her desire for a long time. These suppressed desires came out in the form of an outburst of emotions when she sees Mellor. Being driven by the psychic energy or libido, led her to establish sexual affair with the lower class servant and moral dilemma out of her superego

To keep the song secret, Munanese elders employed a traditional method to forbid every one chanting the song. By literary Anthropology approach, a man and social flaming reconstructed in the simple and symbolic lyric of the song are revealed. The personal name of La Kadandio reflects a sorrow and sadness of Munanese people in the 17th century. The name refers to La Ode Kadiri, the twelfth king of Muna who experienced a maltreatment and cruelty in exile, Ternate. Previously he was under arrest by a deceitful tactic and conspiration among Dutch, the king of Buton, and the king of Ternate for his disagreement to accept Dutch entering Muna territory. The article titled “Demonstrative Nouns of ini and aini in Muna Language.” The purpose of this article is to analyze the form, meaning, and function of ini and aini in Muna language. The method used is descriptive qualitative with distributional technique. This method is used to describe and analyze the form, meaning, and function of ini and aini. The results of the analysis found that the form of ini is a base or monomorpheme, while the form of aini is a derivative or polymorpheme which consists of morpheme a- and morpheme aini. In construction of phrase, clause, or sentence generally have the same meaning, namely ‘this’. For instance, O lambu ini damasoe and lambu aini damasoe the meaning is ‘The house will be sold.’ However, when it’s examined more closely, both forms of demonstrative ini and aini in distributional are not interchangeable. For instance, *O lambu aini damasoe dan *Lambu ini damasoe. Both of constructions are ungrammatical caused by form ini has a meaning ‘this’, while form aini means ‘which this’. The bound morpheme a- in aini has a function as a noun marker which pointed in article ini called relative noun marker. Thus, demonstrative aini can stand alone as a minor sentence in the answer sentence, e.g., Question: Hamai bokuku kabasa? ‘Where is my reading book?’ Answer: Aini! ‘This’ < (Here is it!). Demonstrative aini when substituted with ini, the construction became ungrammatical, e.g., Question: Hamai bokuku kabasa? ‘Where is my reading book?’ Answer: *ini. Hereafter, the form ini cannot be formed in more complexes, whereas the form aini can be formed again with another bound morpheme, such as: ainihakanau ‘This is me’, ainihako ‘This is you’, ainihakoomu ‘These are you’, ainihae ‘This is he’, ainihada ‘These are they’, and ainihakasami ‘These are we’

The existence and the sustainability of the tantrism in Bali

    Get PDF
By their local genius, the local religion, the Balinese were able to localize the teaching of Tantrism. This was very possible since there is a match between the basic concepts of the Balinese local religion and the Tantric teachings. Reinforced by the local culture gum, the process of grafting the local religion onto the Tantrism is continuing until today. This can be observed within the religious activities of the Hindus in Bali. The unification symbols of the generative organs they use for the purpose of uniting the microcosm (the body) with the macrocosm (the universe or God) indicates that the merging of both religious traditions has been harmoniously conducted. Another purpose of this utilization of the generative symbols is to obtain fertility and prosperity, the result of the agricultural tradition

From the topic concerned, the subjects of the study are taken from professional tourist guides and their family-wives and children. Ideally, Balinese people must be familiar with their own culture and outside societies must be hoped too. However, most of them didn’t know clearly what the culture is. Culture must be maintained by people in general because culture is embodied in religion. The problems are: first, what are the conditions that should be understood by the community to maintain the culture? Second, what are the necessary things that should be known by the community to avoid the Balinese taboos? To solve these problems, the research employed with the cognitive approach.
