Minimizing the use of composition in Bahasa Indonesia through utilizing local and foreign languages
Bahasa Indonesia is rich of the composition. The existing of composition shows the inability of Bahasa Indonesia to produce a word representing a certain concept. Ignoring this may obstacle the path of Bahasa Indonesia to become an international language. Therefore, this paper tries to propose a concept and development strategy of Bahasa Indonesia, especially in relation to the composition through collecting and connect-comparing Bahasa Indonesia’s compositions and sources from local and foreign languages. In another word, to economize Bahasa Indonesia composition, the strategy applied is by utilizing local and foreign languages. The language absorption should meet the Indonesiaizing process. Another alternative applied is to make an agreement of certain form and process/model. These alternatives would enrich the vocabularies of one word one meaning and would strengthen and improve the prestige of Bahasa Indonesia

Effective sentences in Indonesian
This paper aims to describe effective sentences in Indonesian. It is shown that (in Indonesian) an effective sentence could be manifested by the addition or subtraction of a sentence element such as the copula adalah ’to be’, the prepositions dari ‘of’, the relative pronoun yang, and clause reduction. Effectiveness tied to a reduced clause only undergoes a subtraction of a sentence element such a nominal predicate and the subject of a dependent clause. Importantly, it is shown that effectiveness can be said to be universal (i.e. the analysis is supplemented by the English data) which automatically corroborate and support the effectiveness phenomena in Indonesian
The impact of transposition on grammatical metaphor a study of translation from the perspective of SFL theory
There are five major translation procedures generally adopted for translation practice: transposition, modulation, adaptation, equivalence with context, and equivalence with a note (Machali, 2009:92). Transposition or shift (Catford, 1965), however, is one of the translation procedures unavoidable to attain the equivalence between the source language (SL) and the target language (TL). It is a procedure of changing grammatical forms from SL to TL. This paper is aimed to explore the impact of applying transposition viewed from Systemic Functional Language (SFL)Theory (Halliday, 1994) by which language is considered as designed: (i) to understand the environment or build experience, and (ii) to act on the others. Here the clause plays a central role where the reality is made up of processes: material, mental, and relational. Based on the notion of metaphor as the variation in the expression of meanings, metaphorical variation is lexicogrammatical rather than simply lexical (Halliday, 1994:341). This analysis shows that adoption of transposition has potential to change such processes. Consequently, a metaphorical clause may change into a congruent (non-metaphorical) one due to such a translation procedure. The examples of clauses with grammatical metaphors used in this study are taken from The Book of Psalm (Kitab Mazmur): English version is considered as SL and Indonesian version as TL. The result of the analysis is that: (i) all procedures have potential (not always) to change a metaphorical clause in SL into congruent one in TL, (ii) transposition has a great potential to change metaphorical clauses into congruent ones. Based on the result of this study, it may be concluded that SFL theory can be adopted as a theoretical ground for translation study, and so as a tool of analysis in the praxis of translation. Transposition, from the view of SFL, not only the shift of structure but also the change of grammatical process
In purgatory
Up the hills, I can hear Him. Playing the flute of knowledge. Sending its melodious raptures. Pushing away the dark foliage. He pulls me towards that enlightenment. Where not many, but blessed go. The sound, so capturing, Ignites in me that divine glow
Quietude
In the tumult of screams, Roaring winter's cool breeze, Evokes bold memories and freeze. And of with passionate love, paint the city with the color of red, Deep is the color so is the wound, Pure and innocent are oft Confound. Amidst the eyes lies true intention, Rebukes feelings of thy pretension. It's the soul that entrails the body, And this mere body is just the medium, Transcending into the other realm. Whole new dimensions of vibes around, Where trust, faith, and truth surrounds
From manhatten to manikarnika: a study of the ‘aghori’ cult and its influence on the life of allen ginsberg
My Paper entitled ‘From Manhatten to Manikarnika’ traces down the history of Allen Ginsberg’s stay in India. It aims to draw parallels between the Beat writers of the apocalyptic 60’s in America and the revered ‘Aghori’ sadhus in India. For an average American in the 60’s, the East, especially India was a queer nation, it was this queerness that fascinated the Beats writers of the 1960's in America. The reverence and reception of nudity, the celebration of the body, the adoration of death, the consumption of hallucinatory drugs for spiritual connection; approval of everything bizarre and gory lured the west to turn to the ‘heathen’ east for spiritual liberation from its constrained, materialistic society. The ‘aghoris’ managed to impress the Beat writers of the west to such an extent that Ginsberg ended up himself being a ‘yogi’ after his visit to India. Apart from Hinduism, in general, the one aspect that I wish to talk about and study in detail is the influence of the higher philosophy on the mindset of Allen Ginsberg
