Role of the information content of the Moroccan treasury securities real yield curve in forecasting the future economic situation in Morocco
This study aims to investigate the role of the slope of the real interest rate curve of treasury securities in predicting the future economic situation in Morocco. Economic theory suggests that the slope of rates can be explained by three factors: the effects of monetary policy, expectations of monetary policy, and the intertemporal smoothing of consumption. Our theoretical model focuses on the latter explanation, suggesting that households aim to maintain a constant level of consumption, regardless of fluctuations in interest rates and the economic situation. To examine this relationship, we constructed a regression model that includes several lagged financial and/or monetary explanatory variables, such as real interest rates. This analysis utilizes quarterly data from 2007 to 2023. Our results underscore the importance of the information embedded in the structure of real interest rates, particularly the spread of real interest rates, for analyzing and forecasting future economic growth in Morocco.

Our research will focus on the practices of management control and their impact on improving performance in Moroccan Public Institutions and Enterprises. We examine how management control is practically implemented in these public entities and the tangible effects of these practices on their overall performance. Our research integrates two generic models identified in the management literature, the financial model and the management model, while paying particular attention to contingency theory.
The management control system within public institutions and enterprises is influenced not only by the theoretical reference model but also by contingency factors.
Our theoretical model and contingency factors were confronted with reality through empirical tests, aiming to evaluate their explanatory capacity in the specific context of Moroccan public institutions and enterprises. These empirical trials offered tangible insights into the validity and applicability of our approach, thereby enhancing the understanding of management control dynamics in the public domain in Morocco, as well as the positive impact of the management control system on improving the performance of Moroccan Public Establishments and Enterprises.

This article presents a systematic quantitative review of scientific work on the financial structure of companies between 2000 and 2018, with a particular interest in studies using the methodology based on panel data econometrics. The aim is to provide a comprehensive framework of past research while highlighting key theoretical indicators to explain the financial structure of companies. In principle, financial structure refers to the way companies allocate their resources between equity and debt. The article explores the main theories that explain the financing choice of small and medium-sized enterprises, namely: the trade-off theory and the pecking order theory. Indeed, this work highlights several specificities that distinguish the financial choice of SMEs from that of large companies. Due to their size and more flexible structure, this type of company often has limited access to financial markets and prefers self-financing to bank loans, rather than issuing shares. In addition, their financial risk management often differs from that of large companies, which directly influences their choice of financing. Thus, this study shows the importance of understanding the factors that push companies to prefer equity or the use of debt and how these decisions influence their strategy and survival. In conclusion, this research significantly enriches the theoretical debate on the determinants that explain the financial choice of companies and provides crucial insights into the impact of financing decisions on company performance. The results of this research can be particularly useful for managers and policy makers, as they highlight the practical implications of financing choices on the growth and sustainability of SMEs, since these companies constitute the core of the global economy.

During its existence, a company inevitably faces economic and financial difficulties that can potentially lead to its failure. However, these problems do not arise suddenly, but usually result from the progressive accumulation of serious challenges faced by the company. To anticipate these failures, the use of failure prediction tools is essential as they enable timely implementation of necessary corrective measures. Therefore, the prediction of corporate difficulties is of crucial importance, while also allowing for classification between failing and non-failing companies.
The objective of this article is to predict corporate failures in Morocco. To achieve this, a methodology was implemented, involving the modeling of the inherent risk of failure using a sample of 30 Moroccan companies. For this purpose, a set of 6 financial ratios was used, calculated over the period from 2017 to 2019. These ratios provide key insights into the financial health of companies, their ability to meet obligations, and their profitability. Among these ratios, two were found to be particularly significant in explaining failure: the debt ratio and the financial profitability ratio.
To achieve the prediction of corporate failures, the technique of discriminant analysis was employed due to its proven robustness and predictive power. This model allows for the establishment of a boundary between failing and non-failing companies based on the selected financial ratios. In this study, the model achieved a 90% rate of correct classification, demonstrating its predictive effectiveness. This means that the model correctly classified 90% of the companies in the sample as failing or non-failing.

Since its introduction into the business field, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has always been a fertile field of research. The expected goal of this work is to develop a literature review of the most relevant articles dealing with CSR and its impact on social performance.
The methodology followed is based on a systematic literature review which aims to gather, synthesize and analyze relevant studies on the concept of social performance and CSR. This review is based on scientific articles cited and selected in internationally recognized journals.
The results obtained show the positive effect of CSR on social performance. CSR can have several positive impacts, namely: Improved brand image and reputation, strengthened relationships with stakeholders, reduced risks, increased innovation and efficiency, positive contributions to society. However, it is important to note that CSR is not without challenges. Some companies may encounter obstacles related to the initial cost of CSR initiatives, resistance to organizational change, or the difficulty of measuring the real impact of their actions on society.
