Seeing the Conservation of Old Semarang City Building from a Biophilic Architecture Perspective
The Old Semarang City area is currently undergoing many renovation processes, both physical buildings and street furniture, whose existence supports each other. Conservation and renovation activities carried out on historic buildings and several cultural heritage buildings in Old Semarang City often use the concept of adaptive reuse, where there is a concept of physically adapting the building for reuse with the function of the building adapted to several more significant contexts. Renovation, conservation and revitalization are activities carried out to improve the function and image of buildings and the environment which is the attraction of Old Semarang City. All of these activities must of course also pay attention to sustainability aspects. Based on the 13 points in the Sustainable Development Goals agreed upon by the UN, one of the sustainability aspects to consider is health and welfare. This point is the main basis for this research. By using Biophilic Architecture theory, this research will look at how conservation activities taking place in one of the building objects in Old Semarang City, namely the Marabunta Building, have paid attention to the comfort and welfare of building users. Biophilic Architecture Theory is used because in this theory there are benchmarks that can be used to see to what extent building designs pay attention to the welfare of building users when they are active in the building
Pemikiran Ulang Materialitas: Kajian Fenomenologi Pengalaman Penciptaan Seni dari Pelukis Cat Minyak Tradisional di dalam Realitas Virtual
Recent technological developments have brought back virtual reality (VR) as a new creative medium. This research investigates how artists with no prior VR experience perceive and employ immersive VR environments to translate their physical world creative concepts into the virtual realm. By bridging the gap between traditional and virtual reality art, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of affordance theory in today’s context. Using a phenomenological approach, data was collected through immersive VR painting sessions, think-aloud protocols, and reflective interviews. Over three sessions, one selected participant utilized OpenBrush to explore the affordances of VR painting. Key findings reveal a transformative shift in artistic knowledge and practice. Participants adapted their understanding of materials and techniques to the unique affordances of VR, aligning with affordance theory and actor-network theory. The study's implications for artists are that by integrating VR into traditional art practices, artists can explore new creative avenues. Additionally for VR developers, the findings suggest potential improvements to VR tools, such as enhancing haptic feedback or developing more intuitive interfaces to better support artistic expression.
Water Purification Using Prototype of Constructed Wetland and Its Use in Aquaponic at Cinangsi Village, Cianjur
In several rural areas, the lack of clean water availability forced them to use polluted water to accommodate their daily needs. For example, in Cinangsi Village, Cianjur District, West Java, the local communities is forced to use contaminated river water for their daily use. The river water is contaminated by the disposal of fish farming waste directly into the river. To solve this problem, constructed wetland combined with aquaponic system is implemented. The constructed wetland can provide better water quality, while the aquaponic system can create a sustainable cultivation system that can be profitable for the local communities. In this paper we describe a prototype of the constructed wetland combined with aquaponic system that we have built in Cinangsi Village and the results in solving the clean water shortages problem, especially in Cinangsi Village
Numerical Bifurcations and Sensitivity Analysis of an SIVPC Cervical Cancer Model
We consider a mathematical model of cervical cancer based on the Natural History of Cervical Cancer. The model is a five dimensional system of the first order of ordinary differential equations that represents the interaction between the free Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) population and four cells sub-populations, i.e., the normal cells, infected cells by HPV, precancerous cells, and cancer cells. We focus our analysis to determine the existence conditions of the nontrivial equilibrium point, the bifurcations, and the sensitivity of the parameters that play important roles in metastasis. Based on the basic reproduction ratio of the system, we found that the infection rate, the new viruses production rate, the free viruses death rate, the infected cells growth rate, and the precancerous cells progression rate play important roles for the cancer spreads in the cellular level. By applying sensitivity and numerical bifurcation analysis, we found that there are some important bifurcations that trigger some irregular behaviours of the system, i.e., fold, Hopf, cusp and Bogdanov-Takens
Gravity Model Approach to Model Epidemic with Human Dispersal Behaviors
The gravity model which is based on Newton’s gravitational law, has been widely used as a spatial interaction model in the past few decades. Spatial interactions are important in epidemic modeling as different populations in the world are interconnected by them. Human dispersal behaviors are spatial interactions and they are crucial aspects of infectious disease spread. However, many existing compartmental models model epidemics in a single area. Hence, a gravity model approach to model epidemics incorporated with a multipatch compartmental model is studied here. Both human dispersal behaviors within a patch and between patches are considered. When the human dispersal behaviors within a patch are modeled, the denominator of the general gravity model becomes zero. An alternative power-based distance decay function is introduced to the gravity model to address that research gap. The parameters of the modified gravity model are estimated using a hybrid method combining ordinary least squares (OLS) and nonlinear least squares (NLS) methods (Hybrid OLS-NLS method)

Kajian Implementasi BIM (Building Information Modeling) di Indonesia Berdasarkan Perspektif Pelaksana Konstruksi (Studi Kasus: Proyek Kontraktor BUMN)
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a 3D model simulation that connects planning, design, construction, and operational information to increase construction effectiveness and efficiency. However, BIM adoption in Indonesia is relatively slow. Therefore, the identification of BIM implementation conditions is carried out to determine the direction of its development. Optimal BIM implementation is based on two factors: BIM functions maturity and implementation of supporting facilities. Based on research, most BIM is used in the project phases: Construction, Design, and Planning using the applications: REVIT, Navisworks, and BIM 360. The main benefits of using BIM are: Collaboration Team Building, Communication, and Clash Detection. Rules (Preparation, Regulations, and Contracts) are the main factors inhibiting BIM Implementation. Regulations need to be drawn up regarding applications that are often used by construction implementers. The development for BIM implementation is formulated into 8 Proposals which are divided into 3 stages: Short, Medium, and Long. BIM implementation has the potential to develop traditional DBB (Design-Bid-Build) Project Delivery into DB (Design-Build). There are as many BIM implementations with DBB type as DB, showing that the use of BIM can facilitate the use of DB. The involvement of a BIM Engineer is essential in implementing projects with BIM.

Perancangan Struktur Sistem Rangka Bresing Tahan Tekuk - Studi Kasus Pada Bangunan Esensial

Representation of Multicultural Identity Through Old Houses and Displays: Case Study of Lasem, Indonesia
Lasem, located in Central Java, Indonesia, is an area where diverse cultural and religious groups, such as Javanese, Chinese, and Muslim communities coexist. In recent years, old houses that are considered heritage in Lasem have been revitalized and opened as commercial spaces such as guest houses, restaurants, and/or museums, displaying their collections to the public. This paper discusses cultural representation through the display of heritage buildings or artifacts. Employing qualitative methods with purposive sampling, three specific old houses located in Lasem were chosen as case studies: Rumah Oei, Rumah Merah, and Nyah Lasem. Similarities can be drawn between the three houses, in that they displayed old and new objects, combined to construct and represent the values, ideas, and meanings that are wanted to be exhibited by the exhibitors. Further research is needed to analyze the actual selections and curatorial system for the displays in each house
Effect of Anticipated Fear, Risk Perception and Response Efficacy on Travel Intention
The Covid-19 outbreak has impacted the tourism industry worldwide. It has also affected how travelers used to travel. The present study investigates travelers’ behavior grounded on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The study incorporated a new concept of risk perception of Covid-19, anticipated fear and response efficacy, and examined travel behavior across two groups of people. The first group desires to travel a short distance while the other desires to travel a far distance destination. The work also investigates how these two groups are different in their travel intention. The data collected from 507 individuals have been utilized for the analysis using structural equation modeling. Overall, the risk perception of Covid-19 is found to have a vital and significant impact on individuals’ travel intention, followed by one’s response efficacy towards it. Further, the two groups are found different at the model level and also across a few paths . The findings will help DMOs and the government curate strategies in case of a similar scenario (e.g., an epidemic)
