The Interplay between L1 and L2 Writing Proficiency
Today, there is still a combative discussion on the domination of mother tongue (L1) use on second/foreign language acquisition (L2). Particularly, whether or not the use of mother tongue directly affects the ability to write in L2. Experts differ in their opinions on whether mother tongue positively or negatively affects foreign language writing proficiency. This study aims to investigate the interplay between Indonesian (L1) and English (L2) and how significant L1 influences students' ability to write in L2. The case is for Indonesian University context specifically on how L1 applied at pre writing stage could bring some impacts on their English writing. A pre experimental one-group-pre-test-post-test design was employed involving 15 students of English Education Major of a public University in Indonesia as the respondents who were examined through a Purposive Sampling technique. In addition, to analyze the obtain the data of students’ writing proficiency Pre-test and post-test were conducted as research instruments. Finally, the findings showed that the Sig.(2-Tailed) value is 0.001 < 0.05 with the conclusion that there is a significant interplay of the use of Indonesian language on the students' writing ability in English which if represented by 47%
TINJAUAN KRITIS KEBERAGAMAAN GEN- Z DITENGAH ARUS INFORMASI DIGITAL
Generasi muda memasuki era dimana arus informasi digital ada dalam setiap kehidupan, penyebaran berita-berita keagamaan yang ekstrim di media berdampak pada pemahaman generasi muda dalam beragama, gen Z sebagai generasi muda yang dalam keseharianya sudah dilingkupi teknologi dengan segala kelebihannya belum bisa memilah informasi dan cenderung mengesampingkan nilai moral dan etika dalam menyebarkan informasi, dalam sosial mereka juga terkesan individualis dan ambisius, hal ini berdampak pada keberagamaan mereka dalam kehidupan keseharian. Penelitian ini akan menjelaskan mengenai bagaimana keberagamaan gen Z ditengah kemajuan arus informasi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis dan dalam pengumpulan data memakai metode literatur atau studi pustaka. Dalam penelitian ini membahas mengenai bagaimana keberagamaan gen Z dalam melaksanakan kehidupan beragama di tengah arus informasi. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pemahaman mengenai keberagamaan, penguatan dan upaya dalam meningkatkan kesadaran beragama gen Z di tengah arus informasi. Dari penelitian ini tersimpulkan bahwa keberagamaan gen Z sebagai pemuda yang berada pada perkembanagn teknologi belum mencapai pemahaman yang baik atas kesadaran beragama, gen Z termasuk generasi yang individualis dan susah dalam bersosialisasi, mereka lebih menganggap persoalan agama sebagai formalitas belaka. berbagai upaya perlu dilakukan seperti penanaman nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam pendidikan yang dilakukan oleh guru, peningkatan keterlibatan generasi muda dalam beberapa program nasional yang inovatif, pemerataan gerakan moderasi di kampus maupun sekolah. Tentu dari upaya tesebut harus didasari dengan penguatan hubungan individu kepada Tuhan, menciptakan lingkungan yang baik, pentingnya bijak dalam berteknologi dan kecerdasan spiritual sebagai dorongan agar lebih bermakna dalam beragam
Penjaminan Mutu Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler Pendidikan Agama Islam
ABSTRAK
Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler merupakan wadah bagi peserta didik untuk mengembangkan bakat dan minatnya. Terdapat berbagai jenis ekstrakurikuler, di antaranya ekstrakurikuler keagamaan. Ekstrakurikuler keagamaan atau pendidikan agama Islam penting untuk diselenggarakan guna memperkuat karakter religius siswa. Dalam hal ini setiap lembaga pendidikan perlu melakukan penjaminan mutu untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kelayakan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Penelitian ini akan menguraikan konsep ekstrakurikuler dan prosedur penjaminan mutu dengan mengacu pada siklus Deming. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan jenis studi pustaka. Data teoretis dan empiris diperoleh dari berbagai literatur dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrakurikuler merupakan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di luar jam pelajaran dengan tujuan mengembangkan potensi peserta didik. Setiap lembaga pendidikan perlu melakukan penjaminan mutu terhadap program yang diselenggarakan. Penjaminan mutu dilakukan menggunakan siklus Deming yakni PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) dengan memperhatikan delapan prinsip penjaminan mutu yakni 1) fokus pada pelanggan atau target sasaran; 2) kepemimpinan yang kompeten; 3) melibatkan seluruh pemegang kepentingan; 4) adanya pendekatan sistematis; 5) adanya proses manajemen; 6) perbaikan berkelanjutan; 7) pengambilan keputusan berdasarkan data yang aktual; dan 8) mitra kerja sama yang saling menguntungkan
Strategies for Sharia Tourism Management: Realizing Sustainable Halal Tourism
Halal tourism, or Sharia tourism, has emerged as a rapidly growing sector within the global tourism industry, driven by the increasing demand from Muslim travelers seeking destinations that align with their religious principles. This study explores the strategic management practices necessary to develop and sustain halal tourism while addressing challenges such as the lack of standardized guidelines, limited infrastructure, and misconceptions about Sharia tourism. By adopting a comprehensive approach that includes policy development, infrastructure investment, community engagement, and marketing innovation, halal tourism can unlock its full potential as a driver of economic growth, cultural preservation, and ethical travel. The research emphasizes the role of collaboration among governments, private sector stakeholders, and local communities in fostering an ecosystem that supports halal tourism. Furthermore, capacity-building efforts through education and training are highlighted as critical to ensuring consistent service quality. This study concludes that strategic management is key to realizing sustainable halal tourism, benefitting both Muslim and non-Muslim travelers while promoting inclusivity and cross-cultural understanding in the global tourism landscape
KREATIVITAS SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN DENGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERDIFERENSIASI
With the diversity of learning styles that each student has in the classroom, the teacher must choose a learning strategy that is in accordance with the development of the student's learning process. The application of differentiated learning strategies is the right alternative to balance and increase student enthusiasm in learning and meet the varied learning needs of students. This research examines student creativity in differentiated learning in grade V SDIT Insan Kamil Kota Bima by involving content, process and product adjustments in individual student differences. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that differentiated learning enhances creativity by providing space for students to learn according to their learning styles and needs. Students show increased motivation and ability to think creatively in an environment that supports their interests and talents. as for the factors that affect student creativity 1.) lack of creative student interest 2.) lack of talent in digital utilization (canva) 3.) limited time. This research aims to see how the habit-forming model is applied in character education at MI Ash Shalihin YAPIS Abepura, Jayapura City. This model is important in the education curriculum in Indonesia because it helps instil moral and ethical values in students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research to describe events that occur. Descriptive research seeks to provide accurate information in the form of words. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to achieve certain goals, with the researcher as the main tool in data collection. This study applied data analysis techniques from the beginning, during, and after data collection to understand the subject objectively. Data reduction is done by summarizing and selecting important elements to investigate patterns and themes. Drawing conclusions results in a clearer explanation or picture of the findings. Data validity checking is done through triangulation, which involves various sources and data collection techniques to ensure the credibility of information. Triangulation is important to validate the data and find differences that may exist through different methods. The results showed that the model successfully improved student discipline, responsibility and empathy by incorporating character-building activities into the daily routine. This research emphasizes how important consistent practice and reflection are in character education and provides a framework for other educational institutions that want to improve their character education programs. The history of the formation of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) we know as a legal product for the Guidelines for Religious Courts and Muslim Communities in Indonesia. With this, the Jayapura Religious Court must guide it and for the Muslim community in Jayapura City to apply Islamic law in the field of Marriage and Inheritance according to the rules determined by the KHI. The purpose of this study is to be able to find out the history of the implementation of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). The purpose of this study is to be able to find out the history of the implementation of the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). Then also to find out the position of KHI as the basis for judges in the Jayapura Religious Court in deciding Islamic civil cases. In this research is used through qualitative research, where data collection is obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the KHI was formed because of differences in deciding Islamic civil cases, it was caused by different madzhab thoughts by the judges. Therefore, Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 1991 concerning the implementation of IHL is a solution to these differences problems. With these instructions as a legal product of laws and regulations, every institution must be guided in carrying out its duties and work. The findings of the next study were that the Jayapura Religious Court had applied the KHI and the Books as the main basis in deciding Islamic civil cases. DOMINASI TRANSAKSI MATA UANG KINA DI PASAR PLBN (POS LINTAS BATAS) PERBATASAN RI-PNG
This study examines the phenomenon of Kina currency usage in transactions at border markets between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, specifically in the Papua region, and its economic implications for Rupiah stability. Although official regulations designate the Rupiah as the only legal tender in Indonesia, the reality shows that most transactions at the border markets are conducted using Kina. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on traders and consumers at the border markets to identify factors influencing the dominance of Kina usage. The findings indicate that Kina's dominance is driven by several key factors, including weak enforcement of monetary policies, limited financial infrastructure, and cultural preferences that favor the use of Kina. This dominance negatively impacts the local economy and poses a potential threat to Rupiah stability in the long term. The study recommends strengthening financial infrastructure in border areas and enhancing monetary education for the community regarding the importance of using Rupiah as part of maintaining national economic sovereignty. These findings are expected to provide insights for policymakers in formulating more effective strategies to maintain economic stability at the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border and to increase compliance with Indonesia's monetary policies.Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena penggunaan mata uang Kina dalam transaksi di pasar perbatasan antara Indonesia dan Papua New Guinea, khususnya di wilayah Papua, serta implikasi ekonomi yang ditimbulkannya terhadap stabilitas Rupiah. Meskipun regulasi resmi menetapkan Rupiah sebagai satu-satunya alat pembayaran yang sah di Indonesia, kenyataannya sebagian besar transaksi di pasar perbatasan dilakukan menggunakan mata uang Kina. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan fokus pada pedagang dan konsumen di pasar perbatasan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi dominasi penggunaan Kina. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dominasi Kina disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor utama, antara lain lemahnya penegakan kebijakan moneter, keterbatasan infrastruktur keuangan, dan preferensi budaya masyarakat yang lebih mendukung penggunaan Kina. Dominasi penggunaan Kina ini berdampak negatif terhadap perekonomian lokal dan berpotensi mengancam stabilitas Rupiah dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan infrastruktur keuangan di kawasan perbatasan dan peningkatan edukasi moneter kepada masyarakat terkait pentingnya penggunaan Rupiah sebagai bagian dari upaya menjaga kedaulatan ekonomi nasional. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pembuat kebijakan dalam merumuskan strategi yang lebih efektif untuk menjaga stabilitas ekonomi di wilayah perbatasan Indonesia-Papua New Guinea serta meningkatkan kepatuhan terhadap kebijakan moneter Indonesia
THE LEADERSHIP ROLE OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS IN FOSTERING THE SOCIAL COMPETENCE (EXCELLENT SERVICE) OF PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN SIMPANG KEURAMAT SUB-DISTRICT
This study aims to determine the leadership role of school principals, the social competence of school administration personnel's excellent service, the supporting factors inhibiting the implementation of excellent service and the inhibiting factors of the principal's leadership role in fostering the social competence of school administration personnel's excellent service in Simpang Keuramat District Primary School. The research method is qualitative. Sample selection obtained 3 principals and 3 school administration personnel. The instruments used are interview guidelines and observation sheets. The results of the data analysis show that the school administration personnel of Public Primary School 1, Public Primary School 3, Public Primary School 7 have carried out their duties in accordance with the standards governing the implementation of their duties in permen no 24 of 2008. The results of observations of the development of school administration personnel for each of Public Primary School 1, Public Primary School 3 and Public Primary School 7 are also still categorised as good. The results of the behavioural assessment of school administration personnel from each of the 2 informant schools based on the observed indicators were also categorised as good. Most of the administrative staff carry out as well as possible and the principal has an important role in fostering administrative staff by providing attention, guidance and training in order to improve the insight of these administrative staff
ANALYSIS OF TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM) STRATEGY IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION MANAGEMENT
The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Islamic educational institutions is a challenge in an effort to improve the quality of education sustainably. This study aims to analyse the impact of TQM implementation on improving the quality of education, focusing on changes in student exam results, parental satisfaction, and student and staff engagement. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which analyses various relevant academic sources, such as international journals, scientific articles, and books related to TQM in Islamic education in the last five years. The data obtained showed that the implementation of TQM had a positive impact, with a 15% increase in student exam results, 85% of parents were satisfied with teaching and administration, and 90% of students were satisfied with the quality of teaching and extracurricular activities. In addition, 80% of staff felt more involved in the process of improving the quality of education. In conclusion, the implementation of TQM proved effective in improving the quality of education in Islamic educational institutions, creating a more qualified, productive and sustainable environment
