    Performance of The Composite Electrode of Reduced Graphene Oxide Palm Oil Shell - Zinc Oxide (rGOCKS - ZnO) as a Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) Sensor by Photoelectrocatalysis

    The preparation of reduced graphene oxide composite electrodes from palm shells (rGOCKS-ZnO) as a chemical oxygen demand (COD) sensor by photoelectrocatalysis has been successfully carried out. The preparation of rGOPS - ZnO electrodes by thermal reduction method and modified Hummer. The XRD results showed several peaks of rGOCKS - ZnO namely 23.287 º, 26.781 °, 29.889 °, 32.468 °, 35.109 °, 37.14 °, 39.822 °, 43.559 °, 47.927 °, and 48.537 °. SEM-EDX analysis reveals the surface of graphene sheets containing aggregates in the shape of small particles attached to graphene sheets. The results of the EDX analysis consisted of C 67.82 %, O. 19.2 %, Zn. 7.85 % and 5.13 % impurity. The CV and LSV tests showed that the rGOAK - ZnO electrode with a variation of 1 gram: 0.3 gram had a good response to the oxidation process under visible light. The profile tests of these organic dyes (methylene blue) in concentrations of 0.5 ppm, 1.0 ppm, 2.0 ppm, and 3.0 ppm were applied by Multi Pulse Amperometry (MPA). The performance of the rGOPS - ZnO electrode has been in determining the value of COD by photo electrocatalytic good sensitivity, linearity, limit of detection, repeatability, and service life. The COD value was determined using the rGOPS - ZnO electrode and obtained 2.97897 mg/LO2 close to the theoretical value

    Pembelajaran dengan Team Based Project untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mahasiswa Merancang Eksperimen Fisika Berbasis Proyek

    Learning that is carried out online has difficulty carrying out practicums with actual equipment. Because of that, another alternative is needed as a substitute for practicum. Substitute practicum can be done by providing projects that are carried out in a structured manner. The purpose of this study was to improve students' ability to design project-based physics experiments through team based project learning. This research was carried out by providing project assignments that were carried out in groups. Through this activity, we want to know the ability of students to design project-based physics experiments. The results of student projects were assessed by 5 Physics teachers using performance appraisal sheets. Assessment of student project results is carried out through focus group discussion activities. The results of the projects assessed are the results of the mid-semester and end-of-semester projects. The results of the assessment show that the results of the end-of-semester project get a higher score than the results of the mid-semester project. This means that through team based project learning, students can improve their ability to design project-based physics experiments

    This study aims to describe the form, function, and strategy of directive speech acts in the interaction of health workers with patients at the Singgani Health Center, Palu City. This study used qualitative research methods. The data in this study were in the form of oral data contained in conversations spoken by health workers and patients at the Singgani Health Center, Palu City. The data was collected using observation techniques, recording, observing, recording then followed by data reduction, data presentation, interpreting meaning, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research results, 13 data were found in the form of directive speech acts namely, 3 forms of prohibition, 5 forms of advice, 2 forms of requests, 1 form of invitation, and 2 forms of orders. 10 directive speech act function data, namely 2 prohibition functions,                 2 advisory functions, 3 solicitation functions, 1 request function, 2 command functions. 10 directive speech act strategy data, namely 6 direct strategies and 4 indirect strategies

    Science learning aims to provide opportunities for students to cultivate curiosity and seek answers naturally. However, its obstacle is that the learning models selection which is less varied and innovative so that affect student learning outcomes. An alternative solution to overcome these problems is the use of Quantum learning model which creates fun learning atmosphere. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of using Quantum learning model with multi-representation-based science worksheets on grade VIII students learning outcomes. The research design used quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects were grade VIII students of SMPN 03 Bondowoso consisted of 7 classes with 2 classes as the research sample totaling 64 students. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques were through pre-test, post-test, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using statistical tests through normality test, homogeneity test, and independent sample t-test. The experimental class post-test value shows higher than control class. In addition, data analysis shows the data value sig.(2-tailed) of 0.049 < 0.05 which means there are differences in experimental class and the control class learning outcomes. Thus, the Quantum learning model has significant effect on student learning outcomes

    PERSEPSI DAN PENGETAHUAN SISWA SMA DALAM MENGHUBUNGKAN KONSEP FISIKA DENGAN GEMPA BUMI YANG TERJADI DI PASIGALA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi dan pengetahuan siswa SMA dalam menghubungkan konsep fisika dengan gempa bumi yang terjadi di Pasigala. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini dipilih subjek penelitian sebanyak 91 siswa SMA kelas XII jurusan IPA yang ada di SMA Negeri 2 Palu, SMA Negeri 1 Sigi, dan SMA Negeri 1 Sindue. Dimana secara berurut responden dari SMA Negeri 2 Palu sebanyak 32 siswa, SMA Negeri 1 Sigi sebanyak 26 siswa, dan SMA Negeri 1 Sindue sebanyak 33 siswa. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara memberikan kuesioner persepsi sebanyak 15 peryataan dan soal tes pengetahuan sebanyak 15 pertanyaan yang diisi oleh seluruh responden. Dari hasil analisis kuesioner pada ketiga sekolah diketahui bahwa persepsi siswa dalam menghubungkan konsep fisika dengan gempa bumi yang terjadi di pasigala dalam kategori sangat baik.     Avocado is a fruit that has a high nutritional value are beneficial for human health. In the fruit of the avocado are seeds of avocado that are still less utilization thus discarded and become waste. The content in avocado seeds can be used as an adsorbent. This research utilizes avocado seed powder (Persea americana Mill). As Metal Cu(II) Adsorbent. This study aims to determine the water content, ash content, and optimum pH of the adsorption of Cu(II) metal using avocado seed powder. Determining the concentration of Metal Cu(II) using the tool spectrophotometry Atomic Absorption (AAS). Determination of the optimum pH is done by varying the pH 2, pH 3, and pH 4. The result of this research is that the water content is 4.88% and the ash content is 1.94%. The results of the analysis of the optimum pH to adsorb Cu(II) metal is pH 4 with a percentage of metal that is absorbed by 65.515%. Based on the results of the study showed that avocado seeds can be used as adsorbents

    Urang Aring (Eclipta alba (L.) Hassk) Leaf Extract as Natural Dyes for Making Pomade

    Dyes have an important role in the industrial sector to increase consumer interest in a product. Urang aring is a plant with color pigments that can be used as natural dyes. This study aims to utilize urang aring leaf extract as a natural hair dye for the manufacture of pomade by producing the quality of pomade preparations according to standards. The research method was carried out experimentally including: determining the water content and ash content of urang aring leaves and optimizing the time of dye extraction and storage of urang aring leaf extract using a UV - Vis spectrophotometer, then making pomade based on the formulation of urang aring leaf extract and beeswax, namely: formulation I (3:3), II (5:3), and III (10:3). Pomade quality test includes: organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, freeze-thaw test, and color stability test against sunlight. Based on the results of the study, it was found that urang aring leaf extract can be used as a natural dye for the manufacture of pomade with formulation III which meets the standards in the pomade quality test because it has a soft dense texture, blackish green color, and has no odor with a pH of 6 which is ideal for hair. Pomade formulation III also has a texture that does not separate at extreme temperatures and good color stability under direct sunlight for 5 hours

    Analisa Akurasi Terjemahan Siswa dan Metode yang Digunakan dalam Menerjemahkan Frasa Kata Kerja Bahasa Inggris ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia

    The objective of this research is to find out the accuracy of students’ translation in translating English phrasal verbs into Indonesian and to identify kinds of method they use in translating them. This research uses mixed method research design and a test was conducted to collect data of students’ translation. The students’ translation methods were analyzed using the adaptation of Newmark’s translation categorization. Meanwhile, the accuracy was assessed using Nababan’s translation accuracy rating instrument. As for the accuracy, majority of students’ translations works are accurate with 65.5% of percentage. Inaccurate translation is 20.5% and less accurate is 13.5%. The students use faithful, literal, semantic, word-for-word and free translation methods to translate phrasal verbs and the most dominant one used by the students is faithful translation method with 61.5% of the percentage. The second most used one is semantic translation method with 17.5% of percentage. Meanwhile, the application of literal translation method is only 14%, word-for-word translation method is 1% and free translation method is 5.5%. In conclusion, the students’ translations are mostly accurate when translating English phrasal verbs into Indonesian and the most used method applied by the students is faithful translation method

    Analisa Permasalahan Belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa pada Masa Covid-19 di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan

    The learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic was carried out online at all levels of education. Online learning makes the use of information technology becomes the concern for teachers, students, and parents. This study aims to analyze the problems faced or experienced by students when learning English during the Covid-19 era. This study uses a survey research design. The population of the study were students of SMK Mandalasila Palu while the research subjects were students of Class XI. The convenience sampling technique was used to choose 25 students as the research sample. Data was collected using a questionnaire then the data were analyzed descriptively. The analysis of the data revealed three issues that students in the Covid-19 era encountered when studying online, technical issues, issues with the teaching and learning process, and external issues. Internet network and application utilization difficulties are the most significant technical problems. Student independence, application of learning processes, tasks, and student inactivity are some of the issues with learning and teaching. External issues include students' incapacity to provide internet quota, as well as the state of their home during the online learning process. The findings of this study suggest that it is crucial to invest in the infrastructure and facilities needed to enable online learning, both at schools and in the areas where students reside

    Pengaruh Facebook Terhadap Interaksi Sosial Peserta Didik di MAN 1 Palu

    The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Facebook on the social interaction of students at MAN 1 Palu. This research is quantitative research with a survey method. The results showed that there was a significant influence between the use of Facebook on the social interaction of students at MAN 1 Palu. This can be seen from the tcount (6.156) > ttable (1.663), then  is rejected and  is accepted and the coefficient of determination of this study shows the contribution of the influence of the independent variable (X ), namely the use of Facebook on the dependent variable (Y ) namely the social interaction of students at MAN 1 Palu by 49% while the rest is influenced by other variables. This research is expected to be information material for parents and educators to control students in using Facebook as a means of social interaction and especially for students to use Facebook in good ways and not overuse it, so that the negative impact of using Facebook can be prevented and avoided especially if the impact makes students have an anti-social attitude towards the surrounding environment
