Kompetensi Mahasiswa PGPAUD Sebagai Calon Guru Pada Program P3K UPI
Teachers play a central role in determining the success of education, especially at the early childhood education level. In facing the challenges of the 21st century, which demand digital literacy and increasingly complex professional competencies, prospective early childhood education teachers (PAUD) need to be comprehensively prepared through educational programs that integrate theory and practice. This study aims to describe the competency levels of PGPAUD students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia during their participation in the Professional Education Strengthening Program (P3K). The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, and the data were analyzed using frequency tabulation to illustrate the distribution. The sample consists of 191 students selected through proportional random sampling. The research instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire measuring three key aspects of competence: knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The results showed that 53.40% of students fell into the very high category and 46.60% into the high category, with no respondents in the medium, low, or very low categories. These findings indicate that PGPAUD UPI students possess strong competencies as prospective professional teachers ready to meet the demands of 21st-century education. The theoretical contribution of this study reinforces Mulyasa’s theory of teacher competence, which emphasizes the importance of mastery in knowledge, skills, and attitudes as the main pillars of teacher competence. Practically, the results of this study can serve as an evaluation and continuous improvement tool for the curriculum and implementation of the P3K Program, thereby better preparing PGPAUD students to become professional, adaptive, and innovative teacher
Analisis Kebutuhan Media Digital Interaktif dalam Pembelajaran STEAM untuk Memfasilitasi Perkembangan Kognitif Anak Usia Dini
This research is motivated by the suboptimal use of digital media in schools for learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the need for developing interactive digital media in STEAM learning. This study uses the Educational Design Research (EDR) method with a qualitative approach, through observations and interviews with four early childhood education institutions in Tasikmalaya City. The results show that schools have not optimally utilized the digital media provided by the school. Media use in learning is 70% for YouTube videos, 15% for PPT, and 10% for quiz-based games. This is due to teachers' lack of understanding of digital media usage, so they cannot utilize it optimally. The results show that 90% of children are more focused and understand the material delivered through digital media. Therefore, digital media affects cognitive abilities, especially in the ability to understand concepts and materials. Based on the findings, it shows the potential to develop interactive digital media in STEAM learning for early childhood to facilitate cognitive developme
Media Bola Warna sebagai Inovasi Pembelajaran untuk Meningkatkan Konsentrasi Anak di PAUD KB Cahaya Hati
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using colored ball media as an innovative learning method to improve the concentration of children aged 4-6 years at PAUD KB Cahaya Hati. The background of this research is the low learning concentration among children, as indicated by their lack of attention, focus, and persistence during learning activities. Colored balls were chosen as the media due to their appealing shapes, colors, and play-based characteristics that are attractive to children, thus expected to stimulate their interest and focus during the learning process. This study employed a classroom action research approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles with 11 children as the subjects. Data were collected through observation and documentation, and analyzed using a descriptive quantitative approach. The findings indicate that the colored ball media significantly contributed to improving learning concentration among children aged 4-6 years. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of children showing learning concentration was 47%, which increased to 61.64% in the first cycle and reached 79% in the second cycle. Children appeared more focused, active, and interested when participating in learning activities using the colored ball media. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that colored ball media is an effective learning tool for enhancing learning concentration among early childhood students in PAUD settings. It can be used as a fun and innovative learning medium that successfully enhances concentration in young children. Early childhood teachers are encouraged to utilize concrete and engaging learning media to create an optimal learning atmosphere for childre
Peran Kompetensi Kepribadian Guru Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di PAUD
Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a crucial phase in shaping children’s character and learning motivation, where teachers play a central role in the learning environment. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers’ personality competence in influencing the learning motivation of children aged 5–6 years in early childhood education settings. The research employed a qualitative library research method, utilizing data from scientific articles, accredited national journals, and relevant studies published within the last five years. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic categorization, and critical interpretation of previous research findings related to teacher personality competence and children’s learning motivation. The findings indicate that teachers’ personality competencies—such as patience, empathy, emotional stability, role modeling, and interpersonal communication skills—significantly contribute to enhancing children’s learning motivation. Teachers with positive personality traits are able to create a safe, enjoyable, and supportive learning atmosphere that fosters both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in young children. Conversely, inadequate personality competence may reduce children’s interest, focus, and active participation in learning activities. The practical implications of this study emphasize the importance of continuous development of early childhood teachers’ personality competence through training, self-reflection, and professional guidance to improve learning quality and strengthen children’s learning motivatio
