Get PDFOne of Indonesia's current learning and development reforms is aimed at eradicating illiteracy with significant results. Unfortunately, the government's success in eradicating illiteracy and expanding access to education has not been followed by success in cultivating a reading culture in society, so that the literacy level of the Indonesian people is still relatively low. One effort that can be done is to create a community reading park (TBM). Community Reading Centers (TBM) have an important role in developing a reading culture in the community, because they are considered as a means for the community to obtain or access reading materials easily. The provided reading material is capable of transforming a listening society into a reading society. Through the activity of making a community reading garden in this coastal village, it is hoped that it will be beneficial for the community in the future to increase reading literacy, namely 1) knowing the causes of low community reading literacy, 2) increasing community reading literacy, 3) adding community reading facilities, 4) improving community skills through activities community reading garden
Figurative language in songs for English Learning
Get PDFBackground: Songs have long been popular literary works for learning English. One way is by paying attention to figurative language used in songs popular among EFL learners.
Purpose: This study was aimed at identifying the types of figurative language used in songs recently popular among Indonesian youth.
Design and methods: The data were purposively collected from a sample of three songs of a famous album. The data were qualitatively analysed by using Gorys Keraf’s theory.
Results: Finally, it is recommended that types of figurative language need to be taught to and learned by EFL learners to help enhance their comprehension when dealing with popular literary works like songs

Get PDFMemorizing the Qur'an is a process of repeating the reading of the Qur'an well. It is done by reading or by listening so that the reading of the Qur'an can be attached from one verse to the next and the verses can be read properly without looking at the Qur'an. when reading the Qur'an Imam Al-Karmani said that it is sunnah to read the Qur'an to beautify the reading of the Qur'an by using naghom/song chants. The socialization service activity for memorizing Al-Qur'an techniques using naghom nahawand was carried out by Madrasah Diniyah Riyadut Tarbiyah, Kubang village, Cipicung Village, Cijeruk District, Bogor Regency on August 1, 2022. The target of this community service activity was 18 grade 3 students. The method used in the implementation of community service is socialization with lecture and talaqqi techniques. The results of this activity resulted in 65% of students being able to memorize the Qur'an with Naghom nahawand

Purpose: This study tries to find elements of cognition and sociocultural from the article Evaluation of Evaluasi Pemilu Serentak Mendesak from Tempo newspaper with the framework model of CDA Fairclough and van Dijk model.
Design and methods: This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods using library methods. Content analysis techniques.
Results: The authors found several techniques in dissecting the text; 1. CDA Fairclough model focuses more on changes in social patterns, 2. Social cognition only reads events and conveys them to the reader so that the responsibility is centered on journalists

Purpose: The aims of this research is to find out which types of books are most liked and interested by students.
Design and methods: The research was conducted using a descriptive analytical case study, the method used was a mixed method. by using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data obtained are using documents, observations and interviews. This research was conducted on 55 students in grade 1.A and grade 3A at Aligarh Islamic Elementary School.
Results: The result of this study reveals there are 79 books that students like and are interested in. The books that students like the most are books with pictures
An analysis of illocutionary act in the main character utterances in SOUL movie
Get PDFBackground: Some people not only use language in communication, but also use actions. It occurs in the movie through dialogue.Dialogue is not usually realized as a written text spoken by an actor or character in a movie
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find out the types of illocutionary acts do the utterances of the main character in Soul movie convey.
Design and methods: This study uses a descriptive and qualitative method because the data in this study are words rather than numbers.
Results: Researchers classified 137 illocutionary acts in soul movie scripts and found that there are four categories, which are 54 data for representative types (40%), 59 data for directive types (43%), and 10 data for commissive types (7%), and the expression type with 14 data (10%). The directive type shows the highest percentage, and the commissive type shows the lowest percentage. Throughout the analysis of the data, declarative type is not founded by the main character in the movie

Get PDFBackground: The rapid development of science has had a major impact on various aspects of life, one of which is the world of education. As prospective educators, we must become good and professional educators in this developing world of education. Therefore, in educating children, the role of parenting is very much needed to help grow the initial character in children. Character education in children is very important to be given as early as possible and the right education can build good character. Instilling character in children must be accustomed from an early age, so that after the child moves into adolescence and adulthood, the child is accustomed to having a good character condition. Facts that occur in the field when researchers make observations, especially at PT Yongjin Javasuka Garment, there are still many inappropriate parenting patterns such as parents who ignore the importance of interacting between parents and their children. Especially parents who prefer to pursue a career and entrust their child care to their family and others. The role of career parenting is certainly very influential on the formation of children's character from an early age. The impact of this problem is that children become less attentive because of busy working parents, children feel free to play anywhere due to lack of supervision from parents, and lack of supervision when children study or do school assignments.
Purpose: The goal to be achieved in conducting this research is to determine the effect of the role of parenting career parents on the formation of character in children.
Design and methods: This study uses a quantitative approach with causality correlation method.
Results: The results of hypothesis testing indicate that there is a significant influence of career parenting on character formation in elementary school-aged children and the level of relationship strength of career parenting on character formation in elementary school-aged children has a moderate level of relationship. The influence of career parenting on character formation in elementary school-aged children has an effect of 27.6% while the remaining 72.4% is influenced by other factors not examined by researchers

The rapid development of information makes the need for information literacy very large and necessary. The main reason for the need for information literacy is that we need to realize that so much information is moving. Especially with the development of information and communication technology which causes more and more information circulating in the community. Currently, Indonesia has an interest in reading and reading, people are considered very anxious, so there is a need for charity activities to increase information reading and digital transformation, so that they can compete globally. One of the findings is a strategy for increasing public information literacy, using an effective and efficient internet connection in a good learning process and optimizing internet connections for community learning in the Thousand Islands.Salah satu hal penting dalam kemampuan untuk bisa mencerna dan juga mendapatkan informasi adalah literasi informasi, kemampuan ini merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang sangat penting bagi seseorang, terutama dalam persaingan global dan juga dalam transformasi digital saat ini. Pesatnya perkembangan informasi membuat kebutuhan akan literasi informasi sangat besar dan diperlukan. Cisaat tourist village as a tourist destination has cultural potential in the form of Sisingaan arts, pencak silat, Jaipong dance and traditional Gemyung music. The form and presentation of the show are still natural and simple, so new arrangements and creativity are needed in the presentation. In community service in 2022, training was held on the design of the performing arts "Helaran kamonesan cisaat" as a tourist attraction.
