Analysis of Social Values in the Somat Family Cartoon Show Episode “Dudung Is Lost”
Background: Social value is a valuable thing that has to do with the interrelationships and relationships between individuals and other individuals. As social creatures, interaction activities are well adapted and interesting through conventional entertainment media, one of which is cartoon shows.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the social values contained in the "Dudung Is Lost" episode of the Somat Family Cartoon
Design and methods: The research method used in this study is a qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative research type. The data analysis applied in this research is using the critical discourse model of Norman Fairclough..
Results: The results of the implementation of this research reveal that there are many social values that can be taken in the Somat Family Cartoon Episode "Dudung Is Lost", including 1) the value of empathy, 2) helping each other, and 3) liking to give advice. These three social values are deliberately included in the Somat Family Cartoon show to provide educational value. Especially when it was disseminated in Indonesia where the majority of the targeted audience were children
Literacy Education: helping EFL students achieve better learning outcomes
Background: The development of technology has led to an increase in the interest of teenagers and students towards modern literary works so that literary works based on local wisdom are starting to be neglected.
Purpose: This is the basis of this study developed to improve student literacy competence through the making of It-Based Bilingual Book of Folklore Drama Script which also aims to foster students’ interest in local culture.
Design and methods: Classroom Action Research Method is used in this study.
Results: The improving literacy competence experienced by students can be seen from the evaluation of the performance of the assignments they do. In Routine Task, students have an average score of 86.54. In Critical Journal Review task, the students' average has a literacy competence score of 87.90. In the Critical Book Review task, students have an average score of 89.33. Through the Mini Research task, the average score was 91.90. In the Idea Engineering tasks, the average score of students reached 90.27. In project assignments, it can be seen that the students' literacy competence increases in the aspects of reading, understanding and speaking with an average score of 94.09
Analysis of racism depicted in Octavia E. Butler’s Kindred novel
Background: This research analyzes forms of racism experienced by Edana Franklin in the novel entitled Kindred by Octavia E. Butler.
Purpose: The intent of the research is to discover the forms of racism encountered by Edana Franklin, as the main character of the novel.
Design and methods: The method that is used is descriptive qualitative method. The source data is Edana Franklin’s experiences of slavery/racism conduct in the novel written by Octavia E. Butler. The researcher uses Henry and Tator forms of racism theory, secluded by four forms which are: Internalized Racism, Interpersonal Racism, Institutional Racism, and Structural Racism to define the racism depicted in the novel “Kindred”.
Results: After analyzing Kindred, the researcher found an amount of forms of racism. The first one is Internalized Racism five (5) data, Interpersonal Racism twenty-three (23) data, Institutional Racism six (6) data, Structural Racism twenty (20) data. Resulting to the total of fifty-four (54) data in total
The use of flashcard media in English learning topic knowing numbers in class 1c students at SDITA El Mamur school
Background: English subjects at the SD/MI level emphasize the introduction of vocabulary as a foundation or basis in learning English. English ability can be seen from the wealth of vocabulary that a person has. One of the creative efforts in making learning interesting is using media flash cards.
Purpose: This study aims to determine the application of flashcards media about numbers in English in grade 1C at SDITA EL MAMUR.
Design and methods: The researcher collected data using a qualitative approach, the type of research was descriptive narrative, and the data collection technique was interviews with informants, namely the homeroom teacher of class 1C. at SDITA EL MAMUR.
Results: The results of this study indicate that the use of flashcard media can assist students in pronouncing vocabulary numbers in English because the use of flashcard media is easy to understand and attractive to students
Developing English learning material for grade 4 students
Background: A task of a teacher or an educator is to create a pleasant learning atmosphere or situation for students. This situation can be realized by doing fun learning by compiling fun teaching materials as well.
Purpose: To overcome these problems, it is deemed necessary to renew the development of appropriate teaching materials.
Design and methods: This research method is Research and Development (R&D). This research was conducted at SDN Ciomas 3 Bogor. The developing teaching materials for the English language module uses the research and development method of 4D learning tools which consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data analysis techniques in this study used quantitative data and qualitative data. Qualitative data were obtained based on input, suggestions, assessments carried out by two experts, namely material and media experts, English teachers, and students. Then the quantitative data is based on a closed-ended questionnaire that has been compiled to determine the quality of the developed product, namely the English Language Module teaching materials.
Results: The results of the product trial design were supervisors, material experts and media experts and the subjects tried 3 teachers and 38 students. the results of this study are the English Language Module for class IV which contains 5 material and has obtained very good quality based on the validation value of the material experts scored 69 or 92% from maximum value of 75, validating media experts with a score of 70 or 93% from a maximum value of 75 assessment by 3 teachers with a total score of 445 or 98.8% from a maximum value of 450, and the actual field trial for students with a total score of 1854 or 97.57% from a maximum value of 1900 with the results explained, the English module teaching materials are very suitable to be used as a supporting book for learning English in Grade IV Elementary School
Pelatihan menulis puisi siswa kelas tinggi dengan teknik pemodelan di desa Cipicung
Writing poetry is not much in demand by students because it requires the right time to think. In addition, students have difficulty in stringing words to get beautiful and imaginative words. Poetry writing training using modeling techniques in the form of free and acrostic poetry at SDN Cipicung 05 as a solution to the lack of interest in writing poetry for students at SDN Cipicung 05. There are 82 students in high grade. The students were able to write poetry in the free form of poetry and in the acrostic form. The rest there were still students who needed assistance related to poetry writing. This activity is said to be quite successful because 87% of the students have succeeded in pouring their ideas, imagination and thoughts into writing in which diction is composed quite well so that it brings out the meaning of the written writing
Analysis of cultural values in the folklore of Putri Mandalika
Background: Mandalika is used as an international event, where the name of the place comes from Lombok folklore.
Purpose: This study aims to determine the cultural values of the folk tale entitled Putri Mandalika which is found in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Design & Methods: This research was conducted using a qualitative approach to content analysis methods with descriptive analysis techniques. The data source used is a document in the form of a book entitled Putri Mandalika folklore.
Results: The results of the study revealed that there are three groups of cultural values contained in the Putri Mandalika folklore, namely, cultural values of human relations with nature, cultural values of human relations with society, and cultural values of human relations with other people
Identifying Islamic characters in Nussa Rarra film
Background: The animated cartoon film Nussa and Rarra is an animated film that displays daily stories in the world of children, Rarra is a little girl who is very cheerful and likes to play while Nussa is an older sister who loves her sister, Rarra.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the formation of Islamic characters contained in the Nussa and Rarra Animations for students.
Design and methods: This research was conducted using a qualitative approach to content analysis methods with descriptive analysis techniques. The data source used is the document in the form of Nussa and Rarra YouTube videos through the Nussa Official YouTube account.
Results: The results of the study revealed that in the Nussa Official youtube films there were Islamic character values such as honest behavior, speaking well and politely, worshiping according to the religion adopted, sincere and not being arrogant and arrogant towards others. Meanwhile, Islamic character values that have not yet emerged are such as giving alms, helping others regardless of religion, spreading kindness and guarding words and deeds
Readability analysis of teaching materials of English courses class 2 and 6 elementary school
Background: Textbooks are one of the learning media used by elementary school students. Textbooks function to support teachers in the learning process and become a source of knowledge for students in following the learning process. Books as teaching materials are books that contain various subject matter produced by an author based on the applicable curriculum and serve as guidelines for teachers and students in the learning process.
Purpose: This study focuses on the study to describe the level of readability of teaching materials adapted to children's cognition.
Design and methods: The method used is a qualitative method with data analysis of readability text on webfx . The data used as a source in this study is in the form of text contained in teaching materials for English lessons for grades 2 and 6..
Results: Based on the results of the readability text on webfx , only a book with the title Knowing Kinds of Animals Using the Game "Card Hunting" is intended for grade 4 according to with the level of child cognition intended for grade 2, the age range of 8-9 years shows conformity, meaning that it is easy to understand. With an average readability of about 82 out of 100%. That textbook Easy to understand by 8 to 9 years old. Because one of the characteristics of a good textbook can be analyzed from the use of its structure and linguistic symbols. This means that all the information contained in the text book can be easily understood by readers or children at their age
Moral value of Nobita in subtitle of Stand By Me Doraemon 2
Background: Film acts as a new tool used to spread entertainment that has become a habit in the past and presents stories, events, music, drama, comedy and other technical offerings to the general public. Subtitling is a translation of film dialogue written at the bottom of a film. In other words, subtitles are in the form of text. And the purpose of translating the film or subtitle is to help viewers enjoy the storyline of the film they are watching.
Purpose: This study aims to determine the moral values of Nobita's character in the film Stand By Me Doraemon 2 through film subtitles.
Design and methods: In this study, researchers used a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research design and data collection techniques in this study used content analysis by analyzing the subtitles in the film Stan by Me Doraemon 2.
Results: The results of the study, it was found that several characters in Nobita's character were: careless, not honest, lazy, loving, spoiled, crybaby, grumpy, passionate, outspoken, confident and brave. Of the existing characters, only a few characters are exemplary in everyday life, especially for elementary school students, such as compassionate, enthusiastic and brave
