    A Correctness Criterion for Eager Approach Validation for Transactional Memory System

    With rise of multicore systems, software transactional memory (STM) has garnered significant interest as an elegant alternative for developing concurrent code. A (memory) transaction is an unit of code in execution in memory. A software transactional memory system (STM) ensures that a transaction appears either to execute atomically (even in presence of other concurrent transactions) or to never have executed at all. To achieve this property, a commonly used approach by STM systems is eager validation approach. In this approach, when a transaction performs a write operation the update is immediately written to the memory and is visible to other transactions. If the transaction aborts, then the writes performed by it previously are undone with the aid of undo logs. In this paper, we have presented a new correctness criterion EAC for eager approach validation systems. We have developed a STM system that implements this criterion. The STM system uses database recovery criterion strictness and the notion of conflict graphs used for testing conflict serializability

    PERFORMANCE COMPARISON WITH ACCESSIBILITY PREDICTION AND LINK BREAKAGE PREDICTION IN MANETS

    Ad Hoc Networks face a lot of problems due to issues like mobility, power level, load of the network, bandwidth constraints, dynamic topology which lead to link breaks, node break down and increase in overhead. As nodes are changing their position consistently, routes are rapidly being disturbed, thereby generating route errors and new route discoveries. The need for mobility awareness is widely proclaimed. In our dissertation we present a scheme AOMDV-APLP that makes AOMDV aware of accessibility of neighbor nodes in the network. Nodes acquire the accessibility information of other nodes through routine routing operations and keep in their routing table. Based on this information route discovery is restricted to only “accessible” and “start” nodes. Further route with the strongest signal strength is selected from multiple routes using Link life value predicted by Link Breakage prediction technique. Simulation result shows that using accessibility and link life knowledge in route discovery process MAC overhead, routing overhead and average delay is reduced 3 times, and improve the Packet delivery ratio to a large extent than standard AOMDV which reflects effective use of network resources

    SPACE VECTOR PWM SIGNAL GENERATION FOR ANY MULTILEVEL INVERTER BY USING REVERSE MAPPING TECHNIQUE

    This paper proposes a generalized method for the generation of space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) signals for multilevel inverters. In the proposed method, the actual sector containing the tip of the reference space vector need not be identified. A method is presented to identify the center of a sub hexagon containing the reference space vector. Using the center of the sub hexagon, the reference space vector is mapped to the innermost sub hexagon, and the switching sequence corresponding to a two-level inverter is determined. A new technique is proposed in this paper, by which these two-level vectors are translated to the switching vectors of the multilevel inverter by adding the center of the sub hexagon to the two-level vectors. The proposed method can be extended to any n-level inverter, and a generalized algorithm is proposed. The scheme is explained for a five-level inverter, and experimental results are presented for a three-level inverter and seven level Inverter

    Image compression plays a very important role in image processing especially when we have to send the image on the internet. Since imaging techniques produce prohibitive amounts of data, compression is necessary for storage and communication purposes. Many current compression schemes provide a very high compression rates but with considerable loss of quality. On the other hand, in some areas in medicine, it may be sufficient to maintain high image quality only in the region of interest, i.e., in diagnostically important regions called region of interest. In the proposed work images are compressed using Data folding technique which uses the property of adjacent neighbour redundancy for prediction. In this method first column folding is applied followed by the row folding iteratively till the image size reduces to predefined value, then arithmetic encoding is applied which results the compressed image at the end before transmitting the data. In this paper lossless compression is achieved only at the region of interest and it is mainly suitable for medical images

The purpose of this work is to fabricate different types of thin film sensors by using high conducting platinum and nanomaterials.     This paper presents a simulation of the economizer zone, which allows for the condition of the shell-side flow and tube-side and tube-wall, thermal fields, and of the shell-tube heat-exchange. Selection of the economizer zone from the thermal power plant only because, it is found trends of failure that the economizer is the zone where the leakages are found more. The maximum number of cause of failure in economizer unit is due to flue gas erosion. The past failure details revels that erosion is more in U-bend areas of Economizer Unit because of increase in flue gas velocity near these bends. But it is observed that the velocity of flue gases surprisingly increases near the lower bends as compared to upper ones. The model is solved using conventional CFD techniques by STAR- CCM+ software. In which the individual tubes are treated as sub-grid features. A geometrical model is used to describe the multiplicity of heat-exchanging structures and the interconnections among them. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach is utilised for the creation of a three-dimensional model of the economizer coil. With equilibrium assumption applied for description of the system chemistry. The flue gas temperature, pressure and velocity field of fluid flow within an economizer tube using the actual boundary conditions have been analyzed using CFD tool. Such as the ability to quickly analyse a variety of design options without modifying the object and the availability of significantly more data to interpret the results. This study is a classic example of numerical investigation into the problem of turbulent reacting flows in large scale furnaces employed in thermal power plants for the remediation of ash deposition problems. And the experimental setup is from Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station, Chandrapur having the unit no IV of 210 MW energy generations
