Cloud Computing in Distributed System
Cloud Computing as an Internet-based computing; where resources, software and information are provided to computers on-demand, like a public utility; is emerging as a platform for sharing resources like infrastructure, software and various applications. The majority of cloud computing infrastructure consists of reliable services delivered through data centers and built on servers. Clouds often appear as single points of access for all consumers\u27 computing needs. Commercial offerings of the cloud are expected to meet quality of service guarantees for customer satisfaction and typically offer service level agreements. The deployment of cloud computing can be easily observed while working on Internet, be it Google Docs or Google Apps, YouTube Video sharing or Picassa Image sharing, Amazon\u27s Shopping Cart or eBay\u27s PayPal, the examples are numerous. This paper does a literature survey on some of the prominent applications of Cloud Com- putting, and how they meet the requirements of reliability, availability of data, scalability of software and hardware systems and overall customer satisfaction
A Need for Development of SDK for Reading PDB File
Study of protein, predicting its structure to know its function is an important field in bioinformatics. Protein unit that is twenty amino acids have total information for converting linear sequences of amino acid into its unique and globular structures. The data to make protein fold correctly depends on the information present in the input PDB file, but data present in the file is noisy. Thus there is need for developing a customize software development kit or API to read the PDB file in structural manner
Mechanism to Mitigate Application Layer DDoS Attack with a Light Weight Trust Approach
New application layer DDoS attacks is a continuous critical threat to which network layer solutions is not applicable as attackers are indistinguishable based on packets or protocols. The increase in Internet-based transactions and communications offers new opportunities for hackers to disrupt business operations with DDoS attacks to prevent legitimate users from accessing services. In this paper, we propose Trust Management Helmet (TMH) as a partial solution to this problem, which is a lightweight mitigation mechanism that uses trust to differentiate legitimate users and attackers. Its key insight is that to protecting the connectivity of good users during application layer DDoS attacks, evaluation is based on their visiting history, and used to schedule the service to their requests. This paper introduces a license, for user identification (even beyond NATs) and storing the trust information at clients. The license is cryptographically secured against forgery or replay attacks. This mitigation mechanism and implement it as a Java package and use it for simulation. Through simulation, we show that TMH is effective in mitigating session flooding attack
AN INTEGRATION APPROACH FOR HETEROGENEOUS DISTRIBUTED DATABASE TRANSACTION PROTOCOLS
Integration is commonly used for summarizing information held in very large databases which are encountered in data warehousing, large scale transaction management, and statistical databases. Such applications often involve distributed databases that have developed independently and therefore may exhibit incompatibility, heterogeneity, and data inconsistency. We are here concerned with the integration that has heterogeneous classification schemes where local ontology’s, in the form of such classification schemes, may be mapped onto a common ontology. Existing transaction protocols typically rely on compensating transactions to handle exceptional conditions. In this paper, we develop an approach that can handle data inconsistencies and identify a number of issues with compensation-based transaction protocols and describe another transaction protocol that addresses those issues. Moreover, we define a set of properties, analogous to the ACID properties of traditional transactions that are more appropriate for business activities that span multiple enterprises. For this approach we use distributed transaction commit algorithm with EM algorithmic approach which is associated with Kullback-Leibler information divergence
AUTOMATIC EYE TEMPLATE GENERATION AND TRACKING
Eye blinking is a physiological necessity for humans. This method automatically locates the user’s eye by detecting eye blinks. A system is the improvement of driver carefulness and accident reduction. The driver’s face is tracked while he is driving and he is warned if there seems to be an alerting fact that can result in an accident such as sleepy eyes, or looking out of the road. Furthermore, with a facial feature tracker, it becomes possible to play a synthesized avatar so that it imitates the expressions of the performer. For a user who is incapable of using her hands, a facial expression controller may be a solution to send limited commands to a computer. Eye blinking is one of the prominent areas to solve many real world problems. The process of blink detection consists of two phases. These are eye tracking followed by detection of blink. The work that has been carried out for eye tracking only is not suitable for eye blink detection. Therefore some approaches had been proposed for eye tracking along with eyes blink detection. In this thesis, real time implementation is done to count number of eye blinks in an image sequence. At last after analyzing all these approaches some of the parameters we obtained on which better performance of eye blink detection algorithm depend. This project focuses on automatic eye blink detection in real time. The aim of this thesis is to count the number of eye blinks in a video. This project will be performed on a video database of the facial expressions
CONTINUOUS INTEGRATION FOR ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS USING HETEROGENEOUS TECHNIQUES
Continuous integration is an extensive experience in the Enterprise and system architectures, it is the concept of integrating new code into existing code and then utilizing the testing techniques defined by Extreme Programming. This practice yields units of code that are continually tested during development. Using continuous integration, a programmer integrates new code into existing code after the existing code has been relentlessly built. Therefore, the release of the change is done when it is and everyone knows about the new functionality at the time of the release. While this is dynamic, it should not pose problems since the code is released only after thorough testing. This particular idea generates much discussion among the software practitioners, but the result is that it does advocate the thorough building and testing of modules prior to release as its main premise. On this main premise there is no resistance. It also recognizes that the integration of code in the object-oriented paradigm deserves some focus. One of the key requirement of this paper is to develop a common platform to do automated build environment, as the current environment is emulated from decade old build system based on Make and there is no way to track changes made to the system for detecting dependency flaws
SPINNING LED DISPLAY USING RADIO FREQUENCY
The project consists of Spinning LED display using RF which displays the messages send by the user at the handheld device. if there are no inputs from the user for the system, the message that is programmed in the microcontroller will be displayed continuously. The circuit needs to be mounted on a mechanical structure that rotates at high speed. The display consists of 7 LEDs only in a vertical row. By moving them fast enough, message can be displayed which appears to be generated by a 7*n matrix of LEDs and not a single column of LEDs, where n is the no. of columns of the display matrix. This illusion is based on inertia of human eye or in other terms PERSISTANCE OF VISION. It consists of motor and seven LEDs that are arranged in a vertical line. The motor spins at a constant rate such that the LEDs rotate around a centre pivot point. As the LEDs spin around they light up sequentially such that they will display the message. The motor spinning fast enough that the human eye will perceive all of the display is on at once, and the viewer will be able to read the message completely. If LED formed message will periodically and frequently enough flash, they will appear solid and steady. A microcontroller is used to keep the message and blink the LEDs in an appropriate pattern. It has to be programmed so that it will both keep message and also send the appropriate signals to the LEDs to light them in the correct sequence
THE MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS OF COLUMN ORIENTED DATABASE
There are two obvious ways to map a two-dimension relational database table onto a one-dimensional storage interface: store the table row-by-row, or store the table column-by-column. Historically, database system implementations and research have focused on the row-by row data layout, since it performs best on the most common application for database systems: business transactional data processing. However, there are a set of emerging applications for database systems for which the row-by-row layout performs poorly. These applications are more analytical in nature, whose goal is to read through the data to gain new insight and use it to drive decision making and planning. In this paper, we study about the facts responsible for making Column Oriented database when traditional Row-oriented databases are already present, analysis of generation of Column Oriented databases, etc. Finally It will be conclude by giving a probabilistic analysis of Column Oriented database
IMPROVING SPAM EMAIL FILTERING EFFICIENCY USING BAYESIAN BACKWARD APPROACH PROJECT
Unethical e-mail senders bear little or no cost for mass distribution of messages, yet normal e-mail users are forced to spend time and effort in reading undesirable messages from their mailboxes. Due to the rapid increase of electronic mail (or e-mail), several people and companies found it an easy way to distribute a massive amount of undesired messages to a tremendous number of users at a very low cost. These unwanted bulk messages or junk e-mails are called spam messages .Several machine learning approaches have been applied to this problem. In this paper, we explore a new approach based on Bayesian classification that can automatically classify e-mail messages as spam or legitimate. We study its performance for various datasets
CRITICAL COMPONENTS IDENTIFICATION USING MUTATION BASED COMPONENTS IMPACT ANALYSIS
High quality software can be obtained by means of resolving the complexity of the software. According to Pareto principle, 20% of components lead to 80% of the problems [1]. So, we need to identify those 20% of the components during testing. Therefore, this research work suggested an automated software testing framework to identify critical components using mutant based dynamic impact analysis for Software under Test (SUT). Mutants are automatically generated by injecting faults in the components using Offutt mutation operators and they are utilised to identify their impact level over other components of the system. The generated mutants and original program are executed using the suite of test cases, based on the conclusion of both the results, the mutation score is assessed and furthermore it is utilised as the test case adequacy criterion to recognize the impact level of it over the other components of a system. The outcome of this innovative approach is a testing tool entitled as JImpact Analyzer that automates the entire task and has generates miscellaneous graphs for visualization purpose
