e-Procurement and Purchase Algorithm for Supply Chain Management
A technique is developed for use in supply-chain management that assists the decision-making process for purchases of direct goods. Based on projections for future prices and demand, Request for quotes are constructed and quotes are accepted that optimize the level of inventory each day, while minimizing total cost. The problem is modeled as a Markov decision process, which allows for the computation of the utility of actions to be based on the utilities of consequential future states. Dynamic programming is then used to determine the optimal quote requests and accepts at each state in Markov Decision Process. A mathematical algorithm for purchasing can also be developed which is suitable for manufacturing companies to solve the supply chain management problems
Buyer-Supplier Relationship and E-Commerce-An overview
Information exchange between the buyer and supplier is an important aspect of supply chain management. Business to Business e-commerce helps firms to share information, maintain relationships, and conduct transactions more efficiently. The choice of e-commerce transactions will influence, and as well as affect, the relationships between exchange parties. In this paper, we examine a collection of diverse studies on EDI and e-marketplace from marketing and information systems literatures. Findings for managers considering choices on e-commerce transaction mechanisms will provide a more consistent understanding of buyersupplier relationships in the e-commerce context
EVALUATION OF DESIGN-BID-BUILD (D-B-B) PROJECTS WITH AND WITHOUT AGENCY CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Agency CM is a construction management system, and is a way to manage the process of construction. Agency Construction Management when paid on hourly Fee tempts to work hours that are not needed to maximize fee. When Agency CM is paid by Lump sum Fee or remunerated by a percentage of the Project Cost, Agency CM is only committed to provide defined services and results for a lump sum Fee. So the Agency CM may be tempted to provide less service than what was contracted for to increase profits and may maximize profits by cutting corners on services at risk of not obtaining expected results. Hence there is a need for the owner to understand whether there is improvement in Project Performance when Agency CM is contracted with any Project Delivery System. Design-Bid-Build (D-B-B), Design-Build (D-B), and Construction Management at risk (CM at - Risk) are the three principal project delivery systems. Agency CM can be used with any type of Project Delivery System. This necessitates a comprehensive investigation in to the performance of projects delivered with Agency CM and projects delivered without Agency CM. This study evaluated the project performance metrics such as Project Cost, Project Schedule and Project quality in Projects where Design-Build (D-B-B) Project Delivery System was used with Agency CM and Projects where Design-Bid-Build Project Delivery System was used without Agency CM. The study included literature review, designing a questionnaire, collecting data from 200 Design –Bid-Build (D-B-B) projects of which 100 projects where Agency CM was used and 100 projects where Agency CM was not used. Analysis of data pertaining to project performance metrics was done by using SPSS statistical software. An understanding of this study can help an owner/client better select the D-B-B project delivery system either with or without Agency Construction management
HIERARCHICAL ROUTING PROTOCOLS FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK–A SURVEY
Wireless sensor networks are a web of sensor nodes with a set of processor and limited memory unit embedded in it. Reliable routing of packets from the sensor node to its base station is the most important task for the networks. A Comparative Study of Different Smart Parking Assist Systems Using Wireless Sensor Networks
To deal with the parking guidance issue of the parking lots, this paper proposes a vision of improvements in parking guidance and information system based on wireless sensor system. This system consists of parking space monitoring nodes, routing nodes, parking guidance display and Central control center. The nodes transmit the information through wireless sensor network . After analyzing and processing the data, the central control center would distribute the parking information by LED screen and displays for the drivers.
An Effective Time Management Schema in WSNs
WSN usually consists of a large number of resource constraint
sensor nodes that are generally deployed in unattended/hostile
environments and Existing security designs mostly provide a hop-by-hop
security paradigm. Furthermore, existing security designs are also
vulnerable to many types of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, such as
random node capture attack, report disruption attacks and selective
forwarding attacks. We come up with a new concept that provide end-toend
security framework in which secret keys are generated and each node
stores a few keys based on Time Schema . The proposed multifunctional
key management framework assures both node-to-sink and node-to-node
authentication along the report forwarding routes
Implementation Of Hybrid Protocol For Routing As Well As Clustering
WSN consisting of a large number of small sensors with lowpower transceivers can be an effective tool for gathering data in a variety of environments. As sensor nodes are deployed in sensing field, they can help people to monitor and aggregate data. Researchers also try to find more efficient ways of utilizing limited energy of sensor node in order to give longer life time of WSNs. Network lifetime, scalability, and load balancing are important requirements for many data gathering sensor network applications. Therefore, many protocols are introduced for better performance. The lack of infrastructure and dynamic nature of mobile ad hoc networks demand new networking strategies to be implemented in order to provide efficient end-to-end communication. Some researches have been proposed to organize the network into groups called clusters and use different routing protocols for inter and intra clusters to propagate an information. But with these solutions, the network first needs to be organized into cluster and next, we need to construct each routing table[16]. In the available literature, multi-hop routing protocol is well known for power saving in data gathering [5]. Researchers have used such types of the cluster-based (e.g., LEACH, EERP), the chain-based (e.g. PEGASIS) and the tree-based (e.g. TREEPSI) to establish their energyefficient routing protocols. Secure and efficient authentication scheme has been a very important issue with the development of networking technologies. In a Generic Framework for Authentication, preserving security and privacy in distributed systems provide three factors for authentication of clients.
