Politics of Dynasty in the Perspective of Islam: (A Theological and Ethical Study)

    No full text
Dynastic politics refers to a system of governance in which power is passed down through hereditary succession within a particular family or lineage. This phenomenon has occurred throughout the history of Islamic governance. This article aims to analyze dynastic politics from an Islamic perspective, both theologically and ethically, focusing on how this system is either accepted or opposed by Islamic teachings that emphasize the principles of justice, trustworthiness (amanah), and competence in the selection of leaders. The central question raised in this article is whether dynastic politics aligns with Islamic teachings, given Islam’s core principles in leadership selection, which prioritize capability, justice, and integrity. The data for this study were obtained through a literature review of classical and contemporary texts, including the Qur’an, hadiths, and works of Islamic scholars and political thinkers. The analysis uses a qualitative approach to explore theological and ethical arguments related to dynastic politics and compares them with the principles of leadership in Islam. The findings of this study indicate that although Islam does not explicitly prohibit dynastic politics, there are strong theological and ethical arguments asserting that leaders should be chosen based on competence and integrity, rather than lineage alone. As a concept, the article suggests that while dynastic systems have historical roots in Islamic political history, they should be critically re-evaluated in the modern context to align with the Islamic principles of social justice, community participation, and governmental accountability

The Islamic Kingdom of Banten: An Analysis of Facts and Artifacts

    No full text
As a country composed of numerous islands, Indonesia once had many maritime-based kingdoms. One of them was the Kingdom of Banten, located at the westernmost tip of Java Island. This kingdom played a vital role both in economic development through its commercial trading port and in the spread of Islam. Banten became one of the most important Islamic kingdoms in the country, with a bustling trade port at the time. One contributing factor was the Portuguese occupation of Malacca and the decline of another major Islamic maritime kingdom, the Demak Sultanate. Historians have attempted to uncover the greatness of this Islamic kingdom through various methods and theories. Several investigations, explorations, and research efforts have been conducted by studying related historical documents, artifacts, and the ruins of the royal palace to find authentic evidence of the kingdom's power and significance. These efforts reveal that the kingdom attracted not only local and national traders but also many European explorers. The existing evidence shows that it was the largest and most significant Islamic maritime kingdom on the island of Java

Islamic Literature and “Islami” Literature in Contemporary Indonesian Literature

    No full text
The use of the terms Islamic Literature (Sastra Islam) and Islami Literature (Sastra Islami) among both literary scholars and literature enthusiasts in Indonesia remains ambiguous. This confusion is partly due to the development of Islam in Indonesia after the New Order era, during which publishers began unilaterally claiming their works as Islamic Literature or Islami Literature. Based on this context, the present study aims to define and distinguish the characteristics of these two terms. This research uses the dialectical method, which involves contrasting differing views on a particular issue—in this case, the definitions of Sastra Islam and Sastra Islami. Data collection was carried out through literature review, focusing on scholarly opinions, literary critics, literary texts, and the development of Indonesian literature. The findings indicate that Sastra Islam refers to literary works strictly grounded in scriptural texts such as the Qur'an and Hadith, whereas Sastra Islami is more fluid and does not necessarily adhere to scriptural foundations

The Impact of The Fatherless on Gen Z in The Era of Society 5.0

    No full text
Parents and family are the main foundation for the growth and development of children. The parenting pattern given by parents will have an impact on the behavior and moral intelligence of children. If in the care of children there is a dominant figure, then maximum child growth will not be obtained. The father's duty as the head of the household is not only to earn a living, but the father is also tasked with playing a role in the pattern of parenting for children. Especially when the child has entered adolescence, the father figure as a friend and father as a parent is needed so that unwanted things do not happen to the child. Fatherless occurs due to lack of interaction between father and son and lack of awareness of his duties as a father as well as inappropriate parenting factors. For this reason, good parenting and cooperation between father and mother is needed to make preventive efforts so that children do not experience fatherlessness and that undesirable things do not happen

Utilization of Zoom Cloud Meeting Application as a Medium of Da'wah and Spiritual Guidance in Hospital Settings

    No full text
The aim of this research is highly relevant to current conditions, namely to examine the use of the Zoom Cloud Meeting application as a service for da'wah and spiritual guidance in a hospital environment. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method. In line with this approach, the study applies descriptive qualitative analysis, which means that specific findings obtained during the research are collected and abstracted. The results of this study indicate that the use of Zoom Cloud Meeting facilitates communication between patients’ families—especially those in the ICU who cannot be visited—and patients themselves. The spiritual guidance process conducted by counselors consists of several stages: Muqaddimah (opening greetings by the Islamic spiritual guide to build rapport with patients and their families), recitation of prayers from the Qur’an and Sunnah, delivering advice through tausiyah as mental strengthening, and closing with positive impressions for the patients. Beyond that, spiritual guidance also aims to help patients heal from a spiritual perspective by providing motivation and encouragement while reminding them that health and illness come from Go

The Tazkiyatun Nafs Approach to Overcoming Social Media Addiction in Teenagers

    No full text
Social media has become an alternative way to interact without exerting energy, especially among teenagers, using only a mobile phone and the internet. The massive popularity of social media has led to negative impacts, such as anxiety, depression, and decreased productivity, requiring interventions that focus not only on behavior but also on the spiritual dimension. The tazkiyatun nafs (self-control) approach in Islamic counseling is expected to provide a solution to address the phenomenon of social media addiction among adolescents. The primary focus is on applying the core concepts of tazkiyatun nafs, namely muhasabah (introspection), taubat (regret and commitment), and qana'ah (sufficiency), as a healing strategy. This study used a library research approach in conjunction with a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was conducted through fieldwork from journal reviews, books, research reports, and other sources. The analysis indicates that muhasabah plays a role as the first step in raising adolescents' awareness of the source of their addiction. Furthermore, the process of taubat (repentance) supports the determination to make changes, while instilling the value of qana'ah (contentment) can act as spiritual protection that reduces social media addiction

The Role of Islamic Psychoeducation in Muslim Family Counseling in The Digital Era

    No full text
The digital era brings both opportunities and risks for Muslim families. While technology facilitates access to Islamic knowledge, it also exposes families to harmful content, reduced emotional connection, and moral degradation. This conceptual study explores the role of Islamic Psychoeducation—a psychological educational approach integrated with Qur’anic and prophetic values—in strengthening Muslim family resilience amid digital challenges. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of Family Psychoeducation (FPE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Islamic Psychology, the article proposes a six-pillar model encompassing: (1) tauhidi meaning-making, (2) value-based digital literacy, (3) emotion regulation through tazkiyah al-nafs, (4) Qur’anic communication and problem solving, (5) family–school–mosque collaboration, and (6) gradual evaluation. This model aims to integrate evidence-based psychological practice with spiritual principles, offering a culturally and religiously congruent counseling framework. Further empirical validation through controlled trials is recommended to strengthen its scientific reliability and contextual applicabilit

The Key To Successfully Navigating The Career World: Perspectives From Holland, Super and Krumboltz Theories

    No full text
This study is a literature review in the field of career and industrial counseling. The purpose of this research is to examine major theories in career counseling, particularly the theories proposed by John L. Holland, Donald E. Super, and John D. Krumboltz. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using a library research design. Data were collected from various academic sources, including scientific journals, books, and research reports relevant to career development theories. The findings indicate that three major theories significantly contribute to understanding career development. Holland’s theory emphasizes the congruence between individual personality types and work environments. Super’s theory highlights career development as a lifelong process influenced by self-concept, life span, and life space. Meanwhile, Krumboltz’s social learning theory explains that genetic endowment, environmental conditions, learning experiences, and task-approach skills shape career decision-making processes. By integrating these three perspectives, individuals can better understand and navigate career development in a dynamic and competitive work environment
