Integration of Quranic Values in Learning Strategies: Review of Interpretation and Implementation
The integration of Qur'anic values in learning strategies is important for successful learning, but there is often a misunderstanding of the values contained in the Qur'an. With regard to that, this study aims to analyze the integration of Qur'anic values in learning strategies, focusing on verses related to learning, namely surah al-Alaq verses 1-5, Taha verse 114, al-Mujadilah verse 11, an-Nahl verse 125, an-Nur 30-31. Implementation of values at MTs. Mizabul Ulum West Lombok is the focus of research. Qualitative methods with thematic interpretation and descriptive analysis were used, as well as observation, interviews, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. The research findings show that Qur'anic values, such as the importance of reading, educational aids, patience, tolerance, and justice, underlie learning strategies. The implementation of lectures, discussions and habituation effectively support students' character building and understanding. Implementation challenges include lack of understanding and practical guidelines. This research has implications for the integration of Qur'anic values in learning strategies that improve learning quality and shape student character according to Islamic teachings. Results support Jean Piaget's theory of constructivism which emphasizes learning not only memorizing, but also internalizing values
Religious Moderation and Student Harmony: A Phenomenological Study of Duha Prayer Practices in Indonesian Overseas Schools
Religious moderation needs to be instilled from an early age, not only through formal education, but also through daily practices. One example is the duha prayer in congregation, which as a sunnah practice requires tolerance from those of other religions. The practice is implemented in the Sanggar Bimbingan Gombak Utara in Malaysia, so this research aims to analyze the implementation with the focus of the study on efforts to build harmony, and the obstacles faced. This research uses a qualitative approach based on phenomenology, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis used the miles and huberman technique. The results reveal that the efforts made to build harmony include the implementation of an inclusive approach, integration of religious moderation in the curriculum, and parental involvement. The obstacles faced include a non-complex understanding of religious moderation and socio-cultural resistance. In the practice of duha prayer, students are accustomed to respecting differences in religious teachings, respecting time, and maintaining good friendships. The results of this study support Vygotsky's social constructivism theory, which emphasizes the role of social interaction in building shared understanding and values
Dayah and Classical Islamic Texts in Contemporary Gayo Land
This article examines the teaching of classical Islamic texts (or kitab kuning) in traditional Islamic educational institutions in contemporary Gayo Land. The study is based on research conducted at Dayah Bustanul Arifin 2 in Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. This research is a qualitative research, where data collection is done with: interviews, observations, and documentation, with the data subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analytical model. The article demonstrates that Dayah Bustanul Arifin 2 plays a role in transmitting traditional Islamic practices in contemporary Gayo Land. It also confirms the research by Martin van Bruinessen, Karel A. Steenbrink, and Zamakhsyari Dhofier on traditional Islamic educational institutions, pesantren, and kitab kuning. The study finds that pesantren in Aceh, known locally as dayah, are traditional Islamic educational institutions that teach Islamic doctrines according to the views of past scholars, both from the Middle East and the Nusantara region, as expressed in their scholarly works written in Arabic language and script. These works cover a range of religious disciplines and represent the intellectual heritage of the Shafi‘i school, the Ash‘ariyya doctrine, and the Sufism of Imam al-Ghazali. The use of classical teaching methods such as sorogan, bandongan, and memorization further underscores that Dayah Bustanul Arifin 2 reinforces and transmits traditional Islamic practices in contemporary Gayo Land. This also affirms that dayah, as a traditional Islamic educational institution in Aceh, retains its resilience and appeal to advance and develop into a professional educational institution
Transformational Leadership in the Implementation of Total Quality Management in Islamic Educational Institutions
The achievement of teacher performance does not only depend on the strategy or approach used, but also depends on the leadership model. The principal of SMPIT Al-Multazam applies a transformational leadership model based on total quality management to improve teacher performance. This research analyzes the principal's role in applying transformational leadership in realizing professional teacher performance. This research uses a case study-based qualitative method, with data collection methods of observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results found that principals' transformational leadership significantly contributes to improving teachers' motivation, parents' involvement and the implementation of systematic evaluation, which overall improves the quality of education in schools. The active involvement of all stakeholders, including parents, also proved important in supporting the learning process. This study recommends that principals continue to encourage professional development for teachers and increase parental involvement in the education process. Thus, the application of total quality management principles based on transformational leadership can be a model for other Islamic education institutions. The implications of this study show that the application of transformational leadership based on total quality management not only improves teacher performance but also creates an environment conducive to holistic learning
Lecturers' Perceptions of The Use Of E-Evaluation In Assessing The Academic Achievement of Students Of The Islamic Religious Education Study Program
Although E-evaluation technology offers the potential for increased efficiency and accuracy in assessment, there are still problems related to its understanding and application among lecturers. This research uses a mixed method. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. In this study, quantitative and qualitative data were converged. The research findings revealed that users' perceptions of E-evaluation in the Islamic Education study program of STAI Al-Kifayah Riau showed a high level of approval. The survey showed that respondents had a positive view of the use of E-evaluation. Meanwhile, the implementation of E-evaluation in the Islamic Education study program has a moderate level. Lecturers already have expertise and understanding related to E-evaluation after attending training, but they still face difficulties in implementing it efficiently. The results of this study have implications for the need for additional training and support for lecturers to improve their competence in E-evaluation implementation. This is important to ensure more effective integration in teaching and assessment methodologies and to maximize the benefits of technology in education
Islamic Religious Education Learning Innovation Based on Student Centered Learning: A Study on Learning Fiqh Nisa'
The challenges of globalization and modernization can blur students' Islamic identity, especially in learning fiqh nisa', due to the influence of outside cultures that are often contrary to Islamic values. Therefore, learning innovations are needed that encourage active student involvement and provide direct experience from the reality of everyday life. Among the forms of learning innovation is combining Student Centered Learning (SCL) and Experiential Learning (EL) in learning fiqh nisa'. This research analyzes the innovation with a focus on the form, contribution, and constraints of innovation. This research was conducted at the Personality and Leadership Development Program of Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The research method used is qualitative, with a phenomenological study approach. The results revealed that the forms of learning innovations implemented were problem-based learning and social experience projects. This innovation contributes to increasing student involvement, linking material with real life, and developing critical thinking. The obstacles are the lack of teaching skills, limited resources, resistance to change, time constraints, and the challenge of connecting Islamic values with modern reality. The research findings support Imam al-Ghazali's theory of at-Talim min Khilal al-Khibra wa at-Tatbiq, which prioritizes learning through experience and application
Islamic Education in Non Formal Institutions: The Role of Majelis Taklim Based on Indonesian Local Wisdom
Indonesia is known for its rich local wisdom, including in Islamic education practices. However, the tide of modernization has eroded some of these values. In fact, local wisdom has unique characteristics that can be preserved to strengthen the Islamic values of students. This study analyzes the role of the Majelis Taklim Keluarga Sakinah as a non-formal educational institution in improving the quality of family life, particularly in spiritual, social, and economic aspects. This study uses a qualitative research method based on case studies, with a focus on the various Islamic education programs implemented by the Sakinah Family Majelis Taklim. The results reveal that participation in Majelis Taklim activities has a positive impact on understanding Islamic values, strengthening family harmony, and increasing social awareness. Additionally, it contributes to improving economic well-being and providing social security for its members. The implications of this study indicate that the Majelis Taklim serves as a non-formal educational institution and a social transformation agent in building harmonious families. These findings support Jack Mezirow's theory of transformative learning, which emphasizes the importance of critical reflection in changing individual perspectives. Support from various stakeholders is needed to strengthen the role of the Majelis Taklim in improving the quality of life for Muslim families
Research Based Curriculum Development Model and Islamic Scientific Tradition In Senior High Education
Islamic education is faced with two dilemmas: the demands of modernism and the preservation of the Islamic scientific tradition. This dilemma requires Islamic educational institutions to accommodate both demands in the curriculum. SMA Negeri 1 Adiluwih seeks to develop a curriculum model that integrates modern research and Islamic tradition, which is the focus of this research, including the challenges faced. This research uses qualitative methods based on phenomenological studies with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results reveal that efforts include improving teacher competence, integrating learning materials, and project-based learning. This research-based curriculum and Islamic tradition have positively contributed to the learning process by integrating Islamic values and encouraging students to think critically and reflectively. Development challenges include limited resources and external support, especially from parents. This research corroborates Fazlur Rahman's theory of reformulating Islamic education that integrates modern science with Islamic scientific traditions to answer the challenges of the times. Rahman emphasizes the importance of a research-based approach to building critical understanding, as applied in the curriculum model of SMA Negeri 1 Adiluwih
The Relationship Between Self-Esteem and Cyberbullying Behavior of Muslim Students on Social Media
Low self-esteem can lead to negative compensatory behaviors, while high self-esteem can lead to online aggression. These behaviors are contrary to Islamic values that promote morals. This study examines the relationship between self-esteem and cyberbullying behavior of Islamic students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-esteem and cyberbullying behavior among Muslim students in Islamic universities on social media platforms. A descriptive-correlational quantitative survey approach was used to collect data from a sample of 295 students. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between self-esteem and digital bullying behavior. The findings showed a strong positive correlation (r=0.724) between self-esteem and bullying behavior on social media, with a significance value of 0.000<0.05, indicating this relationship is statistically significant and very strong. The findings also indicate that decreased levels of self-esteem are associated with increased incidence of cyberbullying behavior. This study provides implications for increased understanding of cyberbullying in Islamic higher education settings. The findings guide the creation of focused initiatives, policies, and additional scientific studies targeting the reduction of cyberbullying. Given its emphasis on different demographics, this study is important because it provides a new angle in a broader research domain
