The challenges of modernity have eroded spiritual values in Islamic education, so a classroom management strategy is needed that balances academic achievement and religious character building. This research examines religious classroom management innovations in improving the quality of student learning at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah. The focus is on the school's innovative strategies in creating a religious learning atmosphere, conducive, and supportive of students' character and academic development. The research method uses a phenomenological qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results show that spiritual-based classroom management through the integration of Islamic values, worship habits, and strengthening the spiritual relationship between teachers and students can create a positive and meaningful learning environment. This strategy has an impact on improving discipline, learning motivation, and academic achievement. The findings corroborate Vygotsky's social constructivism theory that emphasizes the importance of social and cultural interactions in learning, as well as Islamic education theory that places spirituality at the core of forming a whole person

Content Analysis of Responsibility Values in Islamic Religious Education Textbooks for Elementary Students

Character education at the elementary school level plays a strategic role in shaping students’ moral awareness and attitudes, particularly the value of responsibility as a foundation of ethical behavior in Islam. However, empirical studies examining how the value of responsibility is represented in Islamic Religious Education textbooks remain limited. This study aims to systematically analyze the representation and alignment of responsibility values in elementary school Islamic Religious Education textbooks. Employing a qualitative approach with a content analysis design, this study examines textbooks for Grades 1, 2, and 3 used in the national curriculum. Data were analyzed through coding and categorization of responsibility values into personal, social, and ecological dimensions. The findings reveal that responsibility values are predominantly represented through personal and social dimensions, particularly in the form of habituation of religious practices, discipline, cleanliness, care for others, and role modeling of Islamic figures, while the ecological dimension of responsibility remains limited and unevenly distributed across grade levels. These findings indicate that textbooks function as important instruments for character formation but require stronger reflective approaches and a more balanced integration of responsibility dimensions. The implications of this study are relevant for curriculum development, textbook writing, and instructional practices in Islamic Religious Education that are more holistic and contextual

The principles of andragogy have not been widely applied in adult learning within Islamic boarding schools, despite their potential to foster learner autonomy and enhance the relevance of instruction. This study aims to describe the implementation of andragogical principles in developing the life skills of santriwati (female students) at Pondok Pesantren Al-Asror. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, the study involved three santriwati, one ustazah (female teacher), and one administrator as participants. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, with data validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. Data analysis consisted of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the application of andragogical principles is reflected in the santriwati’s development of self-concept toward independence, the use of learning experiences to enhance relevance, the alignment of training with learners’ readiness, and the orientation of learning toward spiritual independence and practical skills. Challenges include technological limitations and hierarchical cultural norms that restrict autonomy. The study implies the need for innovation in learning systems and the use of technology to make the application of andragogical principles in Islamic boarding schools more effective and adaptive to contemporary developments

Data analysis is conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The findings reveal that Al-Junaidiyah Islamic Boarding School not only focuses on deepening religious knowledge but also equips students with entrepreneurial values to enhance their competitiveness in society. These values are instilled through the strong commitment of the kyai and pesantren administrators. The planting methods used include integration-based learning, modeling, habituation, discipline, and a reward and punishment system. This study also develops Bourdieu's theory of cultural capital, emphasizing the importance of spiritual and dogmatic aspects in the process of internalizing religious values

Santri in Dayah are required to use foreign languages in the school environment. Those who violate this rule will receive sanctions. Previously, corporal punishment was often given to students who did not comply, but this is clearly contrary to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the problems faced by Dayah Ulumuddin Lhokseumawe in enforcing the language discipline of students after the enactment of the Law, as well as the efforts made in disciplining foreign language students. This research method uses a descriptive analysis-based qualitative method, in which case observation interviews, and documentation studies become data collection techniques. The results of the study reveal that the problems faced by teachers in disciplining foreign-speaking students are the teacher's concern that the disciplinary actions taken by students will be legally problematic, which results in a decrease in the enthusiasm of teachers to enforce the discipline of foreign-speaking students. The disciplinary efforts made are revising the punishment for language violations into educational punishments, innovating language coaching programs, balancing rewards and punishments, increasing learning motivation, and socializing child protection laws to those responsible for enforcing foreign language discipline. This research has implications for the effectiveness of foreign language discipline enforcement among dayah students

Al-Qur'an literacy is a significant challenge in Indonesia, where most students have low reading and comprehension skills. This phenomenon is exacerbated by changes in learning culture, such as children's preference for gadgets and digital entertainment, which reduces the time available for reading the Al-Qur'an. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah as a driver of Quran literacy in Padangsidimpuan City, as well as to explore learning strategies, supporting factors, and obstacles to its implementation. The method used is multisite qualitative, with data collection through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation in two madrasas. The results show that the Qur'an literacy program at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah, including tahsin, tahfiz, and tilawah competitions, is effective in improving reading and comprehension skills, as well as fostering a love for and internalization of the values of the Qur'an. The success of the program depends on teacher competence, parental involvement, and a conducive learning environment. The implications of this study confirm the strategic role of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah as a non-formal institution that strengthens Al-Qur'an literacy, shapes religious character, and prepares a generation of Muslims with noble character and Qur'anic competence

Implementation of the Multiple Intelligence Approach in Qur'anic Memorization Learning: Analysis of Strategies and Students Social Interaction Patterns

Memorizing the Qur'an often faces challenges related to the diversity of students' learning styles. Each individual has a different way of learning, which is caused by differences in intelligence types. Therefore, an approach that accommodates this diversity of intelligence is important in learning, one of which is the Multiple Intelligences approach developed by Howard Gardner. This approach emphasizes that every individual possesses various types of intelligence that can be optimized, such as linguistic intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and intrapersonal intelligence. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Multiple Intelligences approach in Qur'an memorization learning, focusing on the potential application, strategies, and challenges faced in its implementation. The method used is a qualitative case study approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of learning strategies tailored to students' dominant intelligences has a positive impact on improving Quran memorization. The implications of this study suggest that the Multiple Intelligences approach can enhance Quran memorization outcomes and students' learning motivation, consistent with Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences
