    No full text
Abstract onlyMarketing strategy is a construct that is central to the practice of marketing and is at the conceptual heart of the field of strategic marketing. This study focused on the influence of marketing mix strategies on repeat purchase intention among online selling customers. This study uses a descriptive research design in order to address marketing mix strategies that influence repeat purchase intentions. The researchers distributed the researcher-made questionnaire to the 100 online respondents with the use of a convenience sampling method. The results indicated that product, place, and promotion were influential, and all of them influenced online customers to make repeat purchases. However, the price has a description of being moderately influential, which signifies that the majority of the online customers have a repeat purchase intention. And with that, there were no significant differences existed in the level of influence of marketing mix strategies in terms of product, place, price, and promotion on the repeat purchase intention among customers on online selling when grouped according to age, sex, shopping frequency, spending on online shopping, family income, and purchases. Therefore, the customers’ subjective knowledge about the marketing mix strategies turns out to be relatively positive, and all of them are good moderators of repeat purchase intention.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Managemen

Abstract onlyThis descriptive study was conducted to determine practices in the preservation and conservation of library materials in academic libraries in the province and city of Iloilo as basis for a proposed preservation and conservation plan. A one-shot survey using a modified instrument from Olatokun and Wole Michael's study (2008) was used to collect data from 33 academic librarians. Data were analyzed using frequency count, percentage, and mean as statistical tools processed through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Result shows that 73% of the academic libraries are public owned while 27% are private. Majority experienced degradation of printed library materials and incurred minor damages such as those associated with dust, change of color of images in photographic materials, and fungi on disc surfaces in non-print materials. Vandalism and bad shelving of library materials were not experienced. They employed similar essential preservation and conservation practices to avoid deterioration, owned, and managed different storage media for duplication. Inadequate funding was the main constraint, among others, of 97% of the academic libraries. Majority have formulated and implemented preservation and conservation policy. Professional development for staff and educational programs on proper handling of library materials, using proper storage facilities, implementing effective environmental controls, using reformatting and migrating practices for materials that are physically deteriorating, creating disaster recovery plans, and physically treating materials in need of repair and restoration are among the prioritized activities in the proposed preservation and conservation plan for the academic library.Includes bibliographical referencesMaster in Library and Information Scienc

Intracellular production of recombinant GnRH1 in yeast, Pichia pastoris, and its potential as oral treatment to advance gonadal development in juvenile orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides

Journal articleLate maturation and large size at maturity are significant challenges when administering hormonal treatments in captive broodstock. Here, we report the potential of yeast, Pichia pastoris, as a vehicle to orally deliver a recombinant gonadotropin-releasing hormone (rGnRH1) aimed at stimulating gonadal development in juvenile orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides. Two recombinant GnRH1 constructs were designed utilizing pPIC3.5, the yeast expression vector lacking a signal sequence, hence retaining the recombinant within the yeast. The first construct (rGnRH1_1xGAP) comprised of GnRH1 decapeptide and the GnRH-associated peptide (GAP) separated by a cleavage site. The second construct (rGnRH1_10x) consisted of ten GnRH1 decapeptides, each separated by a cleavage site. Expression of the two recombinant peptides was confirmed by mass spectrometry. ELISA for the GnRH analogue (GnRHa) was validated to determine the level of rGnRH1 from the yeast extracts. Parallelism between the serially diluted GnRHa and serially diluted extracts from recombinant yeast confirmed validity of the assay. A luciferase reporter assay showed stimulation of tilapia GnRH type 3 receptor by the yeast extract, suggesting biological activity in vitro. In a short term experiment, lyophilised yeast loaded in gelatine capsules and fed once to juvenile orange-spotted grouper resulted in a significantly higher plasma GnRH compared with the control. In a 4-week experiment, lyophilized yeast containing either rGnRH1_1xGAP or rGnRH1_10x was incorporated in fish pellets and fed daily at a dose of 1 μg rGnRH1/kg fish body weight/day. The mean gonadosomatic index and oocyte diameter did not vary between the treated and control fish. The mean plasma levels of FSH, LH and GnRH in the rGnRH1-fed and control fish did not also vary significantly, however there were individuals in the rGnRH1-fed groups that had increased level of the hormones. Together with histological evidence showing oocyte development in a proportion of fish fed with the recombinant, results of the present study point to a biological activity in vivo of the rGnRH1 in yeast. With further refinement, this technology has the potential to provide a non-invasive method for broodstock management of large, late-maturing species of fish and of small, delicate endangered species that require breeding in captivity. This project was funded by grants to AE from the Australian Seafood CRC (No. 2008-745: The advancement of reproductive development in Southern bluefin tuna using hormonal manipulations of kisspeptin, the gatekeeper of puberty) and from the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR FIS_2012_101: Developing technologies for giant grouper, Epinephelus lanceolatus, aquaculture in Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia). This study was also partly funded by SEAFDEC/AQD (Study Codes: TV-01-F2020T, Br-03-F2018T). PP was supported by a John Allwright Fellowship from ACIAR

Journal articleThis research was conducted to determine the level of knowledge, the quality of experience, the extent of expectations and the level of satisfaction of operations staff on audit services of a Microfinance NGO in Iloilo. This study sought to confirm claims of lack of knowledge and unmet expectations of operations staff results to the dissatisfaction rating received by the internal audit department. In some studies, information satisfaction or knowledge about a product or service is an item contributing to disconfirmation or eventual dissatisfaction of a customer and is usually correlated to expectation formation as another satisfaction item in what all call Expectation-Disconfirmation (EDT) model. Through a survey and analysis of data gathered, this study revealed that knowledge has nothing to do with ones’ level of satisfaction as it did not show any significant relationship. On the other hand, experience and expectation have proven to be the major satisfaction items for consideration with significant relationship to ones’ level of satisfaction as what several studies have also shown

    Get PDF
Journal articleMusical data mining covers a number of methodologies to successfully apply data mining techniques for music processing, drawing together a multidisciplinary array of top experts. The field of music data acquisition has grown through time to solve the difficulties of obtaining and engaging with enormous amounts of music and associated data, such as styles, artists, lyrics, and reviews. In order to improve the quality of music teaching, a music teaching evaluation based on data mining is proposed. Data mining is becoming more widely accepted as a viable form of inquiry for analyzing data obtained in natural settings. More and more attention is paid to music teaching. Actual data is frequently inadequate, unreliable, and/or lacking in specific behaviors or patterns, as well as including numerous inaccuracies. Preprocessing data is a tried-and-true means of resolving such problems. Music teaching data is divided into three steps after preprocessing, that is, “object and object type,” “music teaching data normalization,” and “data integration.” A model is built with a high-dimensional characteristic distribution and essential parameters of convergent teaching capacity. The experimental results show that the data mining method can be used for music teaching evaluation and has the advantages of short evaluation time, high accuracy, and clear indicators

Trundling of plastic crates and reused corrugated boxes for carabao mangoes as transport packaging in RORO vessels from Guimaras to Iloilo and Passi City

    Get PDF
Abstract onlyThis study aimed to compare and evaluate the more appropriate container between plastic crates and reused corrugated boxes to investigate the deterioration of carabao mangoes during sea and land-based transport handling after experiencing impact damage, compression, and abrasion present in the distribution environment. It also intended to conduct a cost analysis to determine which of the two packaging options is the more economical to use. In order to carry out this study, engineering development tests including compression tests, vibration tests, and drop tests were conducted. The results of compression and drop tests were in favor of plastic crates, and with the vibration test there was no visible damage to the two packaging materials. For the trundling test, the conduct resulted in plastic crates being a better choice compared to reused corrugated boxes. Viewing the results, it would seem that plastic crates would be the better packaging to transport mangoes via land and sea. According to the cost analysis, the reused corrugated boxes are far more inexpensive in comparison to plastic crates. However, plastic crates were the most cost-effective packaging material for mango transportation in the long run. After the conduct of the engineering development test and trundling test, as well as the cost analysis, reused corrugated boxes proved to be a great alternative for economical and short-term uses.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Packaging Engineerin
