Personal variables, work environment, organizational justice, job embeddedness, and satisfaction as predictors of turnover intention among nurses
Abstract onlyThis study, which aimed to determine the personal variables, work environment, organizational justice, job embeddedness, and satisfaction as predictors of turnover intention among nurses employed a non-experimental causal-predictive research design involving 92 nurses through complete enumeration. A standardized questionnaire was used, and it was based on the objectives and data gathered. Analysis of data involved both descriptive and inferential statistics. Frequency, percentage and measures of central tendency were utilized for descriptive statistics. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s R and Multiple Linear Regression were used to determine the relationship between variables in the study. Findings suggest that the majority of respondents perceive a positive work environment, contrasting with negative perceptions of organizational justice. High levels of job embeddedness are prevalent, while job satisfaction remains ambivalent among many. The respondents intend to remain with the organization, with age significantly linked to perceptions of the work environment. Length of service correlates with both work environment and organizational justice perceptions, while diligence influences organizational justice and job satisfaction. Work arrangement has an association with organizational justice. Factors such as age, sex, civil status, length of service, work arrangement, salary, area of assignment, compassion, discipline, and integrity show no significant association with turnover intention, but diligence notably impacts turnover intentions. Work environment, organizational justice, job embeddedness and job satisfaction are related to turnover intention. Overall, findings underscore the importance of work environment, organizational justice, and job satisfaction as predictors of turnover intention among nurses.Includes bibliographical referencesDoctor of Management major in Public Managemen

Development of instructional video of Mazurka Boholana: A Spanish-influenced Philippine folk dance for Grade 12 learners
Abstract onlyThis research aimed to preserve and promote cultural heritage by developing an instructional video for teaching Mazurka Boholana, a Spanish-influenced Philippine folk dance, to Grade 12 students. The Mazurka Boholana is significant in Philippine cultural history, blending indigenous and colonial influences. However, its complexity and lack of accessible instructional materials challenge its transmission to younger generations. The study's objectives were to: describe the Mazurka Boholana’s origin, development, dance steps, and count pattern; detail the appropriate costume, music, and intricacies; design and develop an instructional video; and evaluate the video. Using the Input-Process- Output (IPO) model, the study began with analyzing the needs of PE teachers and students through key informant interviews. The process included outlining learning content, developing the instructional video with expert guidance, and evaluating it using a rubric by professionals in PE, choreography, and folk dance. The final output focused on creating and refining the instructional video. Employing a developmental research design, the study systematically created the video. Findings highlighted the importance of understanding the dance’s origin, steps, and cultural context to enhance cultural appreciation and preserve artistic traditions. Additionally, detailed knowledge of costume, music, and dance intricacies was deemed necessary for mastering Mazurka Boholana. The instructional video provided an innovative educational tool that enhanced visual learning, cultural awareness, and artistic creativity. The evaluation process ensured the video's clarity, engagement, and authenticity. Data were collected through surveys and focus group discussions. The main output is a developed instructional video for Mazurka Boholana, (designed for what and to whom?)Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Physical Educatio

Abstract only“Sayaw llonggo”, a contextualized instructional material in MAPEH featuring llonggo dances, designed for Grade 7 junior high school learners, was developed in this study. Developmental research design, specifically the Input-Process-Output (IPO) model, was utilized to create, evaluate, and refine the instructional material. The analysis draws on qualitative data obtained from responses to a 10-item open-ended questionnaire from three MAPEH teachers as participants. Their responses revealed several key themes, and sub-themes, which include (1) Experience with Teaching Folk Dance: enthusiasm and cultural appreciation, teaching rewards and challenges, and development of skills and confidence, (2) Strategies for Interactive and Engaging Lessons: diverse teaching methods, and interactive and collaborative learning, (3) Ensuring Inclusivity and Cultural Sensitivity: respect and cultural awareness, student participation, and sharing cultural insights, (4) Assessing Student Learning and Progression: Comprehensive Assessment Methods, (5) Fostering Teamwork and Collaboration: cultural showcase and interdisciplinary learning, and creative expression and collaboration, (6) Connecting Folk Dance Lessons to Other Subject Areas: interdisciplinary integration, and real-world connections, and holistic learning approach, (7) Staying Updated on Trends and Best Practices: continuous professional development, and observational learning and feedback. The output, the developed instructional module “Sayaw-llonggo”, was rated ‘excellent’ by the three validators. Results indicate that the module is highly effective in achieving its educational objectives and enhancing student engagement. Implications of these findings are significant for educational practice and future research, suggesting that culturally relevant instructional materials can play a vital role in promoting cultural education and appreciation among students.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Physical Educatio
Developing a central dogma scale model in enhancing protein synthesis lesson for Grade 10 learners
Abstract onlyTeaching protein synthesis to Grade 10 students posed significant challenges, particularly due to its complexity and the difficulty of traditional methods in making the concept accessible. This study aimed to address these challenges by developing a Central Dogma Scale Model (CDSM) as a more interactive and visually engaging teaching tool. Using an Input-Process-Output (IPO) design, the CDSM was collaboratively designed, developed, and evaluated by five experienced science teachers from a university in Iloilo City. The study identified three key themes from the participants’ feedback: challenges in teaching protein synthesis, suggestions in teaching protein synthesis, and suggestions on how to develop a CDSM. The teachers acknowledged the difficulty of teaching protein synthesis, especially for non-biology majors. They suggested that interactive teaching strategies, such as multimedia presentations, software simulations, and hands-on activities, would be more effective than traditional lectures. Evaluations of the CDSM yielded exemplary effectiveness. The CDSM proved valuable in enhancing the understanding of complex biology topics by integrating visual and interactive elements, making it an innovative tool that supports deeper student engagement. The study recommends that educators adopt such interactive tools to improve the delivery of challenging molecular biology concepts.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Secondary Education major in Scienc
Development of instructional video in basic skills in Arnis for Grade 7 learners
Abstract onlyThis study was conducted to develop an instructional video on basic skills in Arnis for grade 7 learners for the school year 2023-24. Specifically, it aimed to determine the challenges of teachers in teaching Arnis, the techniques, and strategies in teaching Arnis to Grade 7 learners, develop an instructional video in teaching Arnis, and evaluate the developed instructional video. Based on the findings, Arnis experts are facing classroom management difficulties, time management difficulties, poor communication due to a slow internet connection, and quality of learning materials to ensure that all the athletes have the same level of knowledge and skills in Arnis. Experts are putting in more effort by communicating openly with athletes on online platforms and uploading Arnis modules and videos in advance. Instructional videos are very effective for teaching Arnis, and helping athletes understand the proper execution of techniques. However, athletes face penalties for not attending virtual training sessions, as they are responsible for improving their skills for upcoming tournaments. While the instructional videos are effective, athletes find them similar to other videos they have seen. The researchers recommend that the instructional videos be made more interesting and creative to engage viewers better. Adding more videos on different Arnis topics, such as various actions, counterattacks, and strategies is proposed. Also, conducting more research on teaching Arnis is suggested.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Physical Educatio
