    The purpose of the study was to determine the improvement of teacher competence in the implementation of the learning process through classroom visit supervision at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kec, Lareh Sago Halaban in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kec. Lareh Sago Halaban, with the research subjects consisting of 8 teachers. The action in this study was to carry out classroom visit supervision in the implementation of the learning process at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kec. Lareh Sago Halaban. This PTS was carried out in two cycles, where in each cycle there were four stages, namely planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that in cycle I, 87.5% of teachers already had at least good competence in the implementation of the learning process, but there were still 12.5% who had sufficient competence. Because it has not yet reached the predetermined research success indicators. So the research continued to cycle II. The results of cycle II show that 100% of teachers already have at least good competence in the implementation of the learning process, this means that the research success indicator has been achieved. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that classroom visit supervision can improve teacher competence in carrying out the learning process at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Kec. Lareh Sago Halaban in the 2022/2023 academic year

    Pengembangan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa Berbasis Scaffolding Di Kelas XII SMKN 3 Kota Solok

    This research was motivated by the fact that the existing books at school have not facilitated students in learning. The purpose of this research is to produce valid, practical and effective LKS. This type of research is development research (Research and Development), using ADDIE development (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, evaluation). The instruments used are questionnaires of material experts, media experts, and linguists, teacher responses, and student responses, lesson plan observation sheets, evaluation questions. The test subjects in the study were 20 students of class XII SMK Negeri 3 Solok City. LKS media development goes through five stages. The first stage of analysis, namely: curriculum analysis, textbook analysis and student character analysis. The second stage: Design, namely the preparation of the media framework, the presentation of systematic material, and the design of the initial draft of the media. The third stage of product manufacturing is the preparation of media based on linguistic aspects, and the preparation of media devices, revising products based on validation expert input. The fourth stage of product testing. The fifth stage is evaluation of the trial results. Based on data analysis, the average validation reached 89%. The average practicality reached 91%. The average effectiveness reached 88%. Based on these stages, it can be concluded that the LKS media is valid, practical and effective

    THE EFFECT OF USING ENGLISH SONG TOWARDS STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY

           The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of incorporating English songs in teaching on the vocabulary proficiency of fourth-grade students at SD IT Cahaya Madani. The motivation for the study was due to the challenges that students faced in mastering English vocabulary, including disinterest and lack of motivation, limited vocabulary, and perceived difficulty in understanding the language. To address these challenges, the researcher used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design that involved two classes, the fourth Abu Ubaidah class (control) and the fourth Umar class (experimental), both comprising 27 students. Each class did the pre-test and post-test. The vocabulary test was the main research instrument, and the data was analyzed using the independent sample T-test in SPSS 26. The findings revealed a significant difference in the vocabulary proficiency of students who were taught with English songs compared to those who were not. The t-table was 2.059, which was smaller than the t-obtained (16.694). It means using English song enables students improve their vocabulary mastery, make fun learning and avoid stressful. Suggesting that the use of English songs had a significant impact on the students' vocabulary mastery

    THE EFFECT OF INTRODUCING SUPRASEGMENTAL FEATURES TOWARDS STUDENTS’ LISTENING ABILITY

           This research aimed to address the difficulties faced by students in listening comprehension, particularly in understanding spoken vocabulary and grasping the overall meaning of audio materials. The study focused on investigating the effect of introducing suprasegmental features on students' listening ability. The significance of this research lies in its potential to enhance students' comprehension of auditory content. The research followed a pre-experimental design, specifically utilizing a pre-test and post-test approach. The participants consisted of 16 students from XII IPA at SMA N 2 Bukik Barisan. Data collection involved assessing the students' performance through pre-test and post-test scores. The intervention involved providing materials on suprasegmental features supported by audio and video. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test formula, with the obtained t-value compared to the critical t-value at a 5% significance level (?=0.05) and 15 degrees of freedom. The results revealed a significant effect of introducing suprasegmental features on students' listening ability, as the obtained t-value (2.827) exceeded the critical t-value (1.753). Moreover, the post-test scores (68.75) exhibited improvement compared to the pre-test scores (55.31). In conclusion, the findings demonstrate that the introduction of suprasegmental features positively impacted students' listening ability. The results imply that integrating suprasegmental features in teaching practices can assist students in enhancing their listening comprehension skills. Therefore, educators are encouraged to incorporate suprasegmental features to foster improved listening abilities among students

    The purpose of this research is to produce a Digital Module on practical Relations and Functions based on a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach using the Book Creator application. This type of research is research and development using the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This practical stage is a step in implementing the product, which means testing the Digital Module which has been said to be valid to educators and class VIII.2 students of SMPN 2 Solok City as many as 34 students. Practical instruments were given to educators with the response of educators being 96.66% and student responses being 89.42%. The results of the questionnaire response analysis of educators and student responses From the results of the study it can be concluded that the Digital Module developed is practical

    Low student learning outcomes are caused by several factors, namely the difficulty of students to understand the material, low student activity when learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematics learning outcomes of class X Office Administration students of SMKN 1 Kota Solok by using handouts in articulation type cooperative learning better than without using handouts. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were students of class X Office Administration of SMKN 1 Solok City in the academic year 2015/2016. The sample of this study was class X office administration 1 as an experimental class totaling 36 students and class X office administration 5 as a control class totaling 36 students. Data collection in this study used a math learning outcomes test in the form of an essay test consisting of 5 questions. Data analysis of student learning outcomes obtained z_test = 1.89 and z_table = 1.64. So z_test  > z_table so that the hypothesis is accepted at the 95% significance level. It can be concluded that the math learning outcomes of students in class X Office Administration of SMKN 1 Solok City who use handouts in articulation type cooperative learning are better than those who do not use handouts

    THE INFLUENCE AND DIFFERENCE OF GENDER AND PERSONALITY TRAITS ON UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN HYBRID LEARNING

          This study was intended to investigate: (1) the difference of English learning achievement between male and female students, (2) the difference of personality traits level between male and  female students, and (3) the influence of gender and personality traits on students’ English learning achievement in hybrid learning. This study employed ex-post facto research design. There were 240 participants from three universities in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia that chosen through purposive sampling technique enrolled in this study. The data were collected through questionnaire and English score. Pearson Product Moment was applied in analyzing the data namely t-test for independent samples, correlation, and multiple regression. The findings of this study showed that (1) there was no significant difference between the male and the female students’ English achievement, (2) there were significant difference between the male and the female students’ in extraversion and conscientiousness while there were no significant differences between the male and the female students’ personality traits namely in neuroticism, agreeableness, and openness (3) gender and personality traits namely extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness significantly influenced the students’ English learning achievement in hybrid learning. The present study could provide new insights in accordance with students’ personality and gender on students’ English achievement in hybrid learning context.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi: (1) perbedaan prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan, (2) perbedaan ciri-ciri kepribadian antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan, dan (3) pengaruh jenis kelamin dan ciri-ciri kepribadian pada mahasiswa pada prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajaran hybrid. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian ex-post facto. Ada 240 peserta dari tiga universitas di Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling yang mengikuti penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner dan skor Bahasa Inggris. Pearson Product Moment digunakan dalam menganalisis data yaitu uji-t untuk sampel independen, korelasi, dan regresi berganda. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara prestasi bahasa Inggris mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan, (2) ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam extraversion dan conscientiousness sedangkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan. perbedaan antara sifat kepribadian siswa laki-laki dan perempuan yaitu dalam neuroticism, agreeableness, dan keterbukaan (3) jenis kelamin dan sifat kepribadian yaitu extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness dan openness secara signifikan mempengaruhi prestasi belajar bahasa Inggris siswa dalam pembelajaran hybrid.     This study aims to determine the influence of Brain Based Learning (BBL) learning on students' mathematical connection ability. This study used a quantitative approach to experiments with a total sample of 68 students selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The research instrument uses a mathematical connection ability test. Based on the results of research and data analysis using t-tests, it shows that there is an influence of Brain Based Learning (BBL) learning on the ability of mathematical connections with a significance value of 0.000 ? 0.05, then accepted and  rejected, meaning that there is an influence of Brain Based Learning (BBL) learning on students' mathematical connection ability

    TINDAK TUTUR EKSPRESIF INTERAKSI GURU DAN SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA SMP NEGERI 3 X KOTO SINGKARAK TAHUN AJARAN 2022/2023

    This research is motivated by the existence of teacher speech acts in teaching and learning interactions which greatly influence student learning activities, encourage changes in behavior and provide language experience for students. Middle school students were chosen as research tools because middle school students are teenagers who have a lot of expression when communicating. The communication carried out by teachers and students during the teaching and learning process is of course based on the conditions felt by the teacher and students. This research aims to describe the expressive speech acts of teacher and student interactions in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 3 This type of research is qualitative, with descriptive methods. The data collection technique used is (1) The researcher records teacher and student speech during the learning process, until the data obtained is sufficient, (2) The recording results are transcribed from spoken language into written language. The data sources for this research are teachers and students in the teaching and learning process at SMP N 3 Based on the results of research on expressive speech acts of teacher and student interaction in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 3 X Koto Singkarak, researchers found 87 data on expressive speech acts. Expressive speech acts in the form of anger were found in 39 data, expressive speech acts in the form of surprise were found in 10 data, expressive speech acts in the form of resignation were found in 2 data, expressive speech acts in the form of happiness were found in 5 data, expressive speech acts in the form of disgust were found in 4 data, Expressive speech acts in the form of hate were found in 1 data, expressive speech acts in the form of admitting were found in 21 data, expressive speech acts in the form of congratulations were not found in speech acts, expressive speech acts in the form of pity were found in 5 data. Of all the expressive speech acts found, the most frequently found were expressive speech acts in the form of anger. Anger occurs because the expected situation does not match reality.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keberadaan tindak tutur guru dalam interaksi belajar mengajar sangat berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa, mendorong perubahan tingkah laku dan memberikan pengalaman berbahasa bagi siswa. Siswa SMP yang dipilih sebagai sarana penelitian karena siswa SMP merupakan remaja yang memiliki banyak ekspresi ketika sedang berkomunikasi. Komunikasi yang dilakukan guru dan siswa pada saat proses belajar mengajar tentunya didasari oleh keadaan yang dirasakan oleh guru dan siswa tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tindak tutur ekspresif interaksi guru dan siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia SMP Negeri 3 X Koto Singkarak tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah (1) Peneliti merekam tuturan guru dan siswa pada saat proses pembelajaran, sampai data yang diperoleh sudah cukup, (2) Hasil rekaman ditranskripsikan dari bahasa lisan ke dalam bahasa tulis. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar di SMP N 3 X Koto Singkarak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindak tutur ekspresif interaksi guru dan siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia SMP Negeri 3 X Koto Singkarak, peneliti menemukan 87 data tindak tutur ekspresif. Tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk marah ditemukan sebanyak 39 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk kaget ditemukan sebanyak 10 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk pasrah ditemukan sebanyak 2 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk gembira ditemukan sebanyak 5 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk jijik ditemukan sebanyak 4 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk benci ditemukan sebanyak 1 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk mengakui ditemukan sebanyak 21 data, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk mengucapkan selamat tidak ada ditemukan dalam tindak tutur, tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk mengasihani ditemukan sebanyak 5 data. Dari keseluruhan tindak tutur ekspresif yang ditemukan, yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu tindak tutur ekspresif berbentuk marah. Marah terjadi karena situasi yang diharapkan tidak sesuai dengan kenyataan

    The background of the research is about the analysis of speech act characters in Cinta 2 Kodi Novel (Pragmatic Study) because in the novel a lot of dialogue can be included into directive speech act category. The purpose of this research is  to describe the analysis of directive speech act of characters  in Cinta 2 Kodi Novel by Asma Nadia which is requestives speech act, question speech act, requirement speech act, probobitives speech act, permissive speech act, and advisories speech act. This research is a qualitative research. In the research, it is found 104 data about the analyze of directive speech act  in Cinta 2 Kodi novel, which is 11 requestives speech act, 39 question speech act, 27 requirement speech act, 1 probobitives speech act, 3 permissives speech act, and 23 advisories speech act. From the result of the research, it is clear that the most prominent speech act used is question speech act. This is caused by the question speech act is always occurs in every communication between the speaker and the speaker partner. Every interaction in communicating always requires an answer or explanation. That what makes question speech act is always prominent in every conversation. The result of this research also proved  that every communication between 2 people (speaker and speaker partner) will success if thw speaker partner understand what the speaker try to deliver.Latar belakang penelitian tentang Analisis Tindak Tutur Direktif Tokoh dalam Novel Cinta 2 Kodi (Kajian Pragmatik) adalah karena didalam novel terdapat berbagai macam dialog yang dapat dimasukkan dalam kategori tindak tutur direktif. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan analisis tindak tutur direktif tokoh yang ada didalam novel Cinta 2 Kodi Karya Asma Nadia yaitu tindak tutur requestives, tindak tutur question, tindak tutur requirement, tindak tutur probobitives, tindak tutur permissives, dan tindak tutur advisories. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Dalam temuan penelitian, ditemukan data mengenai analisis tindak tutur direktif dalam novel Cinta 2 kodi terdapat 104 data, yaitu tindak tutur requestives sebanyak 11 data, tindak tutur question sebanyak 39 data, tindak tutur requirement sebanyak 27 data, tindak tutur probobitives sebanyak 1 data, tindak tutur permissives sebanyak 3 data, dan tindak tutur advisories sebanyak 23 data. Dari hasil penelitian terlihat bahwa tindak tutur direktif yang paling menonjol digunakan adalah tindak tutur question. Hal ini disebabkan karena tindak tutur question selalu terjadi dalam setiap komunikasi antara penutur dan mitra tutur. Setiap interaksi dalam berkomunikasi, pasti menghendaki jawaban atau penjelasan. Hal itu lah yang membuat tindak tutur question selalu menonjol dalam setiap percakapan. Hasil penelitian ini juga membuktikan bahwa setiap interaksi komunikasi antara 2 orang (penutur dan mitra tutur) akan berhasil jika mitra tutur memahami maksud yang disampaikan oleh penutur
