A produção dos signos numa estrutura social antagônica
Get PDFContrary to some propositions of Mikhail Bakhtin (or N. V. Volochinov) concerning the production of language and of literary discourse, it is proposed a critical application of the peircean Semiotics to the analysis of the production of signs on the level of the representation of conscience. The purpose in doing so is to consider the sign in its whole breadth, not reduced to the mere domain of the "symbolic", and to make clearer the place and role of the several ideological forms within the "praxis".A partir de objeções às proposições de Mikhail BAKHTIN (ou V.N. VOLOCHINOV) sobre a produção da linguagem e do discurso literário no interior das relações sociais de produção, sugere-se a aplicação da semiótica peirceana, devidamente criticada para a análise da produção dos signos no nível da representação da consciência. Pretende-se com isto considerar o signo em toda a sua extensão, e não reduzido ao mero domínio do ""simbólico"", e tornar mais claro o lugar e o papel das diversas formas ideológicas no interior da "praxis"

Get PDFThis paper tries to show how in the theoretical justification of the study of naturally accelerated motion in the Discourses, Galileo would have combined three not perfectly identical methodological attitudes. Those attitudes would be: the ex-hypothesi demonstration from the astronomical tradition, realistically interpreted; the necessary demonstration from the Aristotelian and Euclidean tradition; the typical demonstration of the "mixed sciences". Thus, even Galileo's last work would be far from unequivocal as it regards scientific methodology.O presente trabalho tenta mostrar como na justificação teórica do estudo do movimento naturalmente acelerado nos Discursos, Galileu combinaria três posturas metodológicas não perfeitamente coincidentes. Seriam elas: a demonstração ex hypothesi da tradição astronômica, interpretada realistamente; a demonstração necessária da tradição aristotélico-euclidiana; a demonstração típica das "ciências intermediárias". Assim, mesmo a última obra de Galileu estaria longe de ser inequívoca em matéria de metodologia científica

Get PDFThis article belongs, as a part of it, originally to the dissertation for the attainment of the Master (M.A.), titled "Myth and Parody: their structure and role in the litterary text", presented in november 1983, at the Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem/UNICAMP. The present text belongs to a chapter that develops the myth conceptualization. It tries to dinamically apprehend some of its basic aspects, in the transition from its original form, such as it occurs in the primitive and archaic societies, to its ideological succedaneous in the context of historic societies.Este artigo é parte de uma Dissertação de Mestrado - "Mito e Paródia: sua estrutura e função no texto literário" - defendida em novembro de 1983 no Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem/Unicamp. Marxismo e filosofia: algumas considerações sobre os textos políticos Merleau-Pontyanos do pós-guerra
Get PDFMerleau-Ponty's attempt to approach Marxism, undertaken in the post-war years, is passed through by continuous ambiguity. Notwithstanding the philosopher's purpose of joining the Marxist theory, his political analysis are far from his intentions. Conceiving history as an "adventure" which escapes any rational scheme, Merleau-Ponty questions, since his first writings, Marxist dialectics between logic and contingency in history. The inner tension that lacerates the author's texts during the 40's, proclaiming (and preparing) the refusal of the theory of revolution, which would later appear in The Adventures of the Dialectics, permits us to inquire wheter the dénouement of the 50's would not have been - instead of a cutting in the heart of the work - the necessary result of this problematic attempt to approach Marxism, departing from categories which are alien to it (suitable to philosophies of existence and to phenomenology).
A tentativa merleau-pontyana de aproximação do marxismo, empreendida nos idos do pós-guerra, é perpassada por constante ambigüidade. Não obstante o propósito do filósofo de se filiar à teoria de Marx, suas análises políticas revelam-se distantes de suas intenções. Concebendo a história como uma "aventura" que escapa a qualquer esquema racional, Merleau-Ponty questiona, desde seus primeiros escritos, a dialética marxista entre lógica e contingência na história. A tensão interna que dilacera os textos do autor nos anos 40, anunciando (e preparando) a recusa da teoria da revolução estampada mais tarde nas Aventuras da Dialética, permite indagar se esse desfecho dos anos 50 não teria sido, ao invés de um corte no interior da obra, o resultado necessário dessa tentativa problemática de aproximação do marxismo a partir de categorias que lhe são estranhas (próprias às filosofias da existência e à fenomenologia).

Squabbles between the Jesuits and the Franciscans:: a historical review of policies of two christian orders in Japan
Get PDFThe different interpretations of Rome’s policies and the varied ways of apostolic work seem to be the reason for the unending tensions and conflicts between the Jesuits and Franciscans in Japan’s history of Christianity. However, politics also play an essential part in that situation upon closer examination. Behind the two Christian orders were two rival maritime powers, namely Portugal and Spain. The national sentiments of their fellow citizens might sometimes prevail over the interests of the mission in Japan. The Patronatus missionum issued by Rome yet intensified the conflicts and made the situation worse and irreversible, which eventually caused heavy loss to the whole mission. This thesis will paraphrase the following arguments between the Jesuits and Franciscans for a better understanding. The first and the most inciting one is commerce, the second is the separation of the parish, the third is apostolic approaches, and the last is practical policies. It is also worth mentioning that the situation seems not yet to be improved even after the “Twenty-six Martyrs” in Nagasaki, and the tension between the Jesuits and Franciscans grows into endless accusations against each other.Throughout the history of Christianity in Japan, tension and conflict have persisted between the Jesuits and Franciscans. At face value, this appears to be due to their different readings of the policies of Rome and varied approaches to apostolic work. However, upon closer examination, politics also played an important role. Behind the two orders were two rival maritime powers – Portugal and Spain, whose fellow countrymen’s feelings of national sentiment may occasionally have outweighed their interests in the mission in Japan. In an attempt to keep the peace, Rome had issued the Patronatus missionum. However, it intensified the conflict and rendered the situation into an irreparable state of disarray. This eventually caused heavy losses to the whole mission. For a better understanding, in this thesis I summarize the following arguments between the Jesuits and Franciscans. The first, and most salient, argument pertains to commerce; the second pertains to the separation of parishes; the third to their apostolic approaches, and the final argument is on their practical policies. It is also worth mentioning that the relationship between the Jesuits and the Franciscans was not eased by the 26-person Nagasaki martyrdom incident. Indeed, this was a heavy loss

According to statistics, the book has been translated into 12 full translations, 50 selected translations, and two adaptations. The metamorphosis process of “full translation – deep translation – diversified retranslation”, has passed through four stages, namely religious, literary, philosophical, and diversified reinterpretation phases. Thus, from the perspective of Damrosch’s view of world literature, this paper summarizes the characteristics of different stages based on different spatial-temporal contexts. In the light of translation form, translational outcomes, and translation mode of reading, the path in which Chuang Tzu entered into the field of world literature is specified for the operational mechanism of promoting national literature to world literature, which is dedicated to the enlightenment for practical translation work of introducing Chinese literature abroad. Meanwhile, by reviewing the history of English translations of Chuang Tzu, this paper sums up the deficiencies of current translation activities and research activities, with an attempt to provide constructive suggestions as well as to point out the direction for the futuredevelopment of overseas studies of Chuang Tzu
Como devemos pensar sobre a prosperidade comum e seus desafios no contexto da capitalização?
No full textChina is actively promoting common prosperity to address the contradiction of unbalanced and inadequate development. Financialization has become the backdrop for common prosperity. How understanding the changing connotations of common prosperity and the factors influencing it in this context becomes the subject of this paper. We argue that the imbalance between income from assets and labor and the new forms of value generation are the reasons why common prosperity is difficult to achieve. To justify this conclusion, this paper examines financialization from the critical perspective of the Marxist political economy, cites the financialization case in China and discusses the real and ideological challenges facing common prosperity. The paper analyzes the nature of a new form of fetishism, financialization fetishism, and introduces the concept of narrative value, thus exposing the distortion of people's value ideology by financialization fetishism and the obscuring and erosion of labor value by the mystification of narrative value.A China promove ativamente a prosperidade comum e resolve a contradição do desequilíbrio do desenvolvimento. A capitalização tornou-se o pano de fundo da prosperidade comum. Como entender as mudanças na conotação da prosperidade comum e seus fatores de influência, no contexto da capitalização, tornou-se o tema deste artigo. Acredita-se que o desequilíbrio entre ativos e renda do trabalho e a nova forma de geração de valor são as razões pelas quais a prosperidade comum é difícil de alcançar. A fim de provar a racionalidade dessa conclusão, este artigo examina a questão da capitalização a partir da perspectiva crítica da economia política marxista e toma o caso de capitalização da China como um exemplo para explorar os desafios práticos e os desafios ideológicos enfrentados pela prosperidade comum. No full textFrom the perspective of pragmatic diplomatic philosophy, Peace Corps can benefit the United States, which is an important reason for the domestic support it receives within the United States. Through the volunteers’ acculturation experience, cultural exchanges between the United States and host countries are promoted and the awareness of the American society about the Third World countries is raised, which is the true value of the Peace Corps from the perspective of American interests. As members of American society, Peace Corps volunteers gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the Third World in their host countries, which is not only an important part of improving the awareness of the American society the Third World, but is also an important bridge to spread this awareness in the United States. When volunteers return to the United States after finishing their service, they bring their understanding of the Third World to different industries and fields in American domestic society. Among them, American education and diplomacy are mostly affected. These are of great significance in improving the international vision and awareness of American education and the reliability of American foreign policy.Do ponto de vista da filosofia diplomática pragmática, o Corpo da Paz pode beneficiar os Estados Unidos.
