Based on three practical cases, this paper seeks answers to new, digital possibilities for the design of further education formats for artists in Vienna. The practice cases are the NYC Crit Club and Uncool Artist from the United States as well as the Work Show Grow format from England. The three practice cases were researched by case study method according to Yin and combined into a comparative case study for comparison with the situation in Vienna. To enable a comparison, a field of application in Vienna was delimited in a research work. For this purpose, a systematic and comprehensible investigation was carried out to find out which continuing education formats are currently available for artists in Vienna. In the comparison of the comparative case study with the practice field in Vienna aspects could be found, which are missing in the offer spectrum in Vienna. In the course of this, considerations could be made as to how this deficiency could possibly be compensated for. Based on these insights and conclusions, four recommendations for action were produced and recorded. The creation of a digital training program for artists in Vienna is recommended, especially because it would create opportunities for artists both as participants and as organizers. In addition, a conversation between new groups of people could arise. However, interviews are advised to address further research gaps that this work has not been able to address. These concern both organizers and participants in the existing formats as well as artists in Vienna. To further approach a concrete application, two approaches are recommended. On the one hand, the next step should be to set up scenarios in the form of business cases to better capture potential costs and revenues. Here it is recommended to build on the information provided by this thesis. However, the approach via a prototype is also suggested. An exciting insight of the study is that the necessary technology should not be a hurdle and initial prototypes should be fairly easy to realize. Here, a rudimentary application is recommended, which could be used to design further tests. Finally, the development of a learning community in Vienna is recommended in order to establish a constructive network in the city. As more and more offers come onto the market, a vision for Vienna should be worked on. It would be desirable if artists in German-speaking countries would immediately think about the community in Vienna when they aim to develop their work.

    No full text
Background: Although the scientific literature reports extensively on climate change and health risks, the ability of the german population to understand and apply this information is decreasing. However, these skills are necessary for a more sustainable environment. Climate-specific health literacy combines both climate protection and health promotion and could be promoted more among employees by companies due to their social responsibility in the sense of CSR. This work aims to examine the relevance and potential of climate-specific health literacy for employees and employers, such as the linkage of CSR and OHM in this context. Methods: In August 2022, 8 interviews with experts from CSR, OHM and human resources development were conducted on this topic. Results: Although this topic is not a priority for many companies, climate specific health literacy is relevant to companies. The experts surveyed already offer climatefriendly and health-promoting measures and see a wide range of potentials and challenges for employees and employers. Strategically, half of the experts have linked CSR and OHM via the interfaces of personnel development and occupational safety. Conclusions: The promotion of climate-specific health literacy among employees is relevant for companies and creates numerous potentials. Despite the challenges, a strategic link between CSR and OHM makes sense and will become even more relevant in the future.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Backround: Antenatal classes are designed to prepare expecting parents for the upcoming birth by imparting knowledge and providing practical exercises. Birth preparation reduces women's fears and prevents cesarean sections. Numerous studies prove the beneficial effect of antenatal classes for the birth and the postpartum period. These courses usually take place in person. Since the Corona pandemic more and more courses are being offered online. There are no studies on whether online antenatal classes are as beneficial as face-to-face courses. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine whether online courses are as effective as face-to-face courses. Methodology: Before conducting the study, a literature search was done in five databases to reflect the current state of research and to be able to form theories. To answer the research questions and hypotheses, a semi-standardized questionnaire was designed and distributed online to primiparous women. This captured obstetric information, as well as women's anxiety and satisfaction. The questionnaire consisted of 24 items and included the GAD-2 to assess anxiety and the CSQ-4 to assess satisfaction. The results were statistically analyzed using SPSS®. The target group consisted of women who gave birth at term to their first child in 2020 or later and had a singleton pregnancy. Results: A total of 117 women were included in the study (attendance n=64, online n=53). The analysis showed that there were no differences in birth mode, pain, general painkiller use and anxiety. The results showed that women in face-to-face classes gave birth more often in upright birth positions and used more relaxation methods. Furthermore, 30% of the women from online courses stated that they would have preferred a course in person. Conclusion: The present thesis is a retrospective study. The data used is often based on the women's memories. Hence, recall bias may be possible. Moreover, only the statistical and not the causal connection between the two types of courses was examined. There has been no research on the topic at hand to this date. Further research should address this question.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Eine qualitative Analyse der Begriffsdefinition „CSR“ anhand der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattungen der Banken im ATX

    No full text

As the Covid-19 pandemic hit the global environment, enterprises needed to adapt to this rapid change of normality. New trends arise from digitization and new methods were implemented. Furthermore, agile methods of working were demanded more than ever, such as SCRUM and Kanban, Design Thinking, or the Business Model Canvas to overcome the obstacles in the economic crisis and to stay efficient in this volatile time. As we live in the VUCA world that is an acronym which stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity, old patterns of management needed to be reinvented and efficient teamwork was defined through digital methods. Digitization does not only speed up the progress of adapting to the New Normal but is a significant driver of maintaining the world’s economies. As digital transformation in businesses takes place, the aim of this master thesis is to investigate the change in businesses from different industries and backgrounds in order to investigate how companies undergo their digital transformation and what methods or techniques are utilized in the current state of empirical research. For the research part a systematic mapping study will be conducted, inspired by Petersen et. al. (2008). It will especially focus on the terms “digitization” and “digital transformation” and their meaning in the present time for organizations. The results show that digital transformation is prevalent in many different kinds of industries and that a variety of different techniques and methods are implemented in order to digitalize an organization. This thesis shows that not only digital technologies are required for digital transformation, but also innovative ideas and strategies, strong collaborations among organizations and stakeholders under the responsibility of the top-management.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Smart beta asset allocation approaches : analysis of the markets of the German DAX and the Spanish IBEX

    No full text
Smart beta investment strategies have become a well-established alternative for investors which are seeking for a mix of passive and active investment strategies with a rule-based asset allocation approach which leads in the best-case to a superior result in terms of return and risk. This thesis focusses on smart beta asset allocation approaches for the German DAX and the Spanish IBEX for the period from 1991 until the end of 2019. The fundamental factors include low volatility, value, dividend yield, size, momentum and quality and will be analyzed as single-factor portfolios as well as multi-factor portfolios, where all possible combination of the factors are analyzed. This thesis will provide an explanation whether the smart beta asset allocation approach works for the above two mentioned markets and whether a difference between these two markets can be observed. The literature and research papers deliver only theoretical and not current results. This thesis will therefore provide an overview of the current status for the DAX and the IBEX respectively.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

    No full text
The aim of this master's thesis is to show how financial and economic crises influ-ence digitization in the banking sector with regard to retail customer relationships. The financial crisis of 2008, which originated in the United States of America, and the Covid-19 crisis, which originated in China, were examined as objects of investigation. These two crises were explicitly chosen because they caused similar economic dam-age. The causes, consequences, and measures taken during the individual crises are ex-amined. Furthermore, the digital transformation during the crises will be examined. It will be shown which innovations emerge during the crises, what the backgrounds are and how the acceptance of the customers is. The two crises are shown in the theory part of the master’s thesis and should show to what extent they affect the interna-tional banking sector in terms of retail customer relations. The empirical part of the thesis builds on the digital transformation. In the empirical part, a total of six interviews will be conducted with experts from a major Austrian bank. The aim is to find out what options a major Austrian bank has for fully covering its retail business in a virtual space. At the same time, the experts will answer the question of how the legal framework and quality standards and the retail customer relationship are implemented digitally. For the evaluation of the interviews, qualitative content analysis according to Mayring is chosen. This is possible because the topic is examined in depth and presented in the theory section of the paper.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Candidate Experience und Onboarding-Erfahrungen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Digitalisierung und dem Social Distancing

    No full text
The experiences that (potential) employees have with the company and the company representatives before an active application and in the process of it, as well as the first weeks or months in a new job, are becoming more and more important. Especially in recent years, the term candidate experience has seen a rise in popularity in the human resources, leaving much room for empirical research. Although the onboarding process has been sufficiently researched in the past, new research fields arise due to the corona-induced changes. Therefore, this paper aims to contribute to the new realities regarding the formation of the candidate experience, as well as the perception of the onboarding process from the employees' perspective. The research questions aim to evaluate aggravating and facilitating factors of both processes with regard to social distancing, as well as the advancing digitalization. The focus is on the employees, their experiences and perceptions. In order to obtain correspondingly profound and thus useful results in this context, a qualitative content analysis according to Mayring is used in addition to theoretical concepts. The starting point of the work is the assumption that a lack of personal contact between candidates/employees and companies/company representatives in the phases of the candidate experience, as well as those of the onboarding process in terms of communication and trust, is perceived by employees as a hindrance. In addition, it is assumed that the sense of belonging during the onboarding process suffers when social distancing is taken into consideration, and the changed conditions due to the use of digital tools are seen as challenging. Overall, the corona crisis has shown a strong influence on the flow and experience of going through both processes. On the one hand, the theory proves the enormous changes caused by social distancing and digitalization, on the other hand, all affected interviewee report special circumstances and new experiences. In sum, it can be said that personal contact is preferred, but above all it is essential in the onboarding process. Many of the side effects of the corona pandemic also brought positive developments in working life, the new circumstances have changed the way we deal with each other. In this context, new challenges arise, especially for candidates and new employees, which subsequently also have an impact on team dynamics and networks. It therefore remains to be seen to what extent these changes will be sustained and how further developments in this regard will emerge.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
