Comparison of Sensitivity, Specificity, and Accuracy of ISS, RTS, and TRISS Instruments in Predicting Mortality of Trauma Patients
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of three trauma scoring systems—Injury Severity Score (ISS), Revised Trauma Score (RTS), and Trauma and Injury Severity Score (TRISS)—in predicting mortality among trauma patients at Inche Abdoel Moeis Regional General Hospital Samarinda's emergency room. Trauma assessment tools are crucial for reducing mortality rates and enhancing patient outcomes. While ISS focuses on anatomical factors, RTS integrates physiological parameters, and TRISS combines both for a comprehensive evaluation. Previous research suggests their effectiveness in mortality prediction, albeit with variations in performance. The absence of a dedicated trauma assessment system at the hospital underscores the urgency of this research. By evaluating the performance of ISS, RTS, and TRISS, this study aims to inform clinical practice and enhance trauma patient management, ultimately reducing mortality rates and improving outcomes in the emergency room setting. The study's methodology involves retrospective analysis of trauma patient data, including demographics, injury characteristics, and outcomes. Statistical analysis will compare the performance of the three scoring systems in predicting mortality with implications for trauma care protocols and resource allocation. Results will contribute to evidence-based decision-making in emergency room settings, facilitating more accurate triage and treatment strategies for trauma patients

The Impact of Counseling on Patient Compliance with Antihypertensive Medication: A Literature Review
Hypertension is one of the main risk factors for heart problems. Apart from causing heart failure, hypertension can result in kidney failure and cerebrovascular disease. Patient behavior with high sodium and fat intake, unhealthy lifestyle and low compliance with taking antihypertensive medication can result in the failure to achieve therapeutic goals resulting in a decrease in the quality of life of hypertensive patients. Therefore, a method is needed to improve these things, one of which is the counseling method. The counseling method used is medication-taking counseling. The results of this research use the journal review method by analyzing 6 national journals and inter national journals. The results of the study explain that non-adherence to antihypertensive treatment not only has a major impact on blood pressure control, but also on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Therefore, clinical pharmacy services provided by pharmacists in pharmacies in the form of counseling are very important to achieve success. Various studies show that counseling provided by pharmacists and PILS (Patient Information Leaflets) has an influence on the level of compliance in taking anti-hypertension medication
Legal Consequences of Negligence Committed by Traditional Health Workers
As stated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, health is a human right and is a component of welfare that must be realized following with Pancasila and the ideals of the Indonesian nation. To be healthy, people not only trust medical health services, but also traditional medicine such as shamans, acupuncturists, healers, and others. This research is a type of normative legal research. This research collects data through relevant literature research. The Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) describes the percentage of use of traditional medicine from year to year, namely, traditional medicine used in 2011 was 23.63 percent, in 2014 was 20.99 percent and in 2023 it was 27.57 percent. This shows that public interest in traditional medicine is relatively high. The results of the discussion showed that the legal consequences obtained due to negligence committed by Traditional Health Workers in accordance with the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 103 of 2014 received administrative sanctions and were also based on the Criminal Code, so the negligence caused could be held accountable by the district in accordance with the provisions Article 205 of the Criminal Code and Article 343 of Law 1/2023 Article 359 of the Criminal Code and Article 474 paragraph (3)
The Effect of Topical 100% Sunflower Seed Oil (SSO) Extract on Trans Epidermal Water Loss (Tewl) and Skin PH Levels in a History of Atopic Dermatitis
The skin barrier function can be disturbed in various conditions, one of which is atopic dermatitis (AD). Efforts to improve the skin barrier can be done by using various types of moisturizers. Natural oil from sunflower seed oil (SSO) can be used as "skin barrier therapy" by reducing trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) and skin pH levels. A randomized single blind clinical trial with a two parallel group pre and post design was conducted on subjects with a history of AD who were treated at the Skin and Venereology Polyclinic at Sunan Kalijaga Hospital, Demak. Samples were randomized into 2 groups to receive 100% SSO or petrolatum as a control. TEWL and pH assessments were carried out at the beginning of the study and at week 4. Bathing habits and complaints about using moisturizers were also assessed. TEWL values decreased in the SSO and petrolatum groups (-5.8±1.93 vs -6.1±9.08, p = 0.9). The pH value in AD patients also decreased after administration of SSO extract and petrolatum (-0.4±0.10 vs -0.2±0.75, p = 0.2). The decrease in TEWL and pH in both groups was not statistically significant. This may be related to differences in bathing habits and moisturizer use in the two groups. Most of the samples in the SSO group stated that they had no complaints regarding usage. The entire sample completed the study without any reports of allergic reactions or hypersensitivity. Administration of SSO extract was effective in reducing TEWL and pH in DA with the majority of samples stating that they had no complaints about use
Characteristics of Oral Hemangioma and Vascular Malformation Cases: A Study at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, 2019-2023
This observational retrospective study conducted at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung from January 2019 to February 2023 aimed to characterise oral hemangiomas and vascular malformations. Out of 52 medical records analysed, infantile hemangioma was the most common type (17%), typically presenting between ages 13 to 24 years. Predominantly located around the lip, tongue, and buccal mucosa, it seldom caused bleeding or pain, with women being more affected. Treatment often involved sclerotic agent injections. Venous malformations accounted for 58% of vascular malformations, showing similar age of presentation and distribution as hemangiomas, and were also treated with sclerotic agents. Accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment are crucial due to the diverse nature of these anomalies. Early detection using imaging techniques like ultrasound and CT angiography is imperative, given the potential impact on patients, including pain, swelling, and cosmetic concerns, particularly in the head and neck area. However, treatment approaches vary based on factors such as type and size, necessitating further research to refine diagnostic and therapeutic strategies and optimise patient outcomes
Delayed Hemothorax Due to Thoracic Trauma with Multiple Rib Fracture: A Case Report
Recent evidence indicates that elderly who have suffered rib fractures may develop delayed massive hemothorax. Delayed enormous hemothorax after thoracic trauma is uncommon, but it is nevertheless linked to high rates of mortality. This single case report provides an overview of the ordinary and important delayed hemothorax caused by thoracic trauma with multiple rib fractures in limited healthcare facilities. We observe symptoms and chest X-rays before and after the development of delayed hemothorax. A 56-year-old man came to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath and pain in the chest and right shoulder. The patient said that four days ago, He fell from a height of around 6 meters. After visiting the hospital four days prior, the patient was diagnosed with multiple fractures of the inferior aspect of the right ribs (costa 3-7) as well as a fracture of the right clavicle. However, the patient declined surgery and was made to return home. At that time, the patient did not experience shortness of breath. Currently, the patient is experiencing dyspnea. Blood pressure 138/91 mmHg, heart rate 89 beats per minute, respiration rate 26 times per minute, Spo2 91% room air. The chest x-ray currently shows a right hemothorax. After stabilization, the patient asked to be referred to another hospital for further treatment. Patients with multiple fractured ribs, especially with rib displacement, are at high risk of evolving delayed hemothorax. Close monitoring and observation for several days are necessary
How Safety Knowledge and Work Environment Affect Workplace Accidents: Uncovering the Role of Safety Behaviors
Workplace accidents in hospitals can arise from human or environmental factors, highlighting the necessity of implementing Hospital Occupational Safety and Health (HOSH) measures. Preliminary study at X Hospital shows that work-related accidents persist, with the majority leading to physical injuries. This study aims to observe the impact of HOSH knowledge and the work environment on nurse workplace accidents, with safety behaviors serving as a mediating factor. The research utilizes a quantitative survey method with a cross-sectional design. A total of 123 nurses participated in the study. An analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was conducted to assess the statistical impact. The findings indicate that improving Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) knowledge and enhancing the work environment can significantly reduce workplace accidents. The mediating role of safety behaviors further amplifies this effect. Both HOSH knowledge and the work environment have a positive significant impact on safety behaviors, while HOSH knowledge, the work environment, and safety behaviors each have a negative significant impact on workplace accident

Herbal Soap Formulation as Anti-Bacterial in the Context of Increasing the Community's Healthy Living Movement
Plants have long been used by Indonesian communities for medicinal purposes, including herbal soaps. The number of herbal soap producers has increased, offering various types made from natural ingredients such as lemongrass, clove, and cinnamon. However, the concentration of essential oils in herbal soaps can vary significantly across brands. This study aimed to formulate an herbal soap as an antibacterial agent by determining the minimum concentration of essential oils (clove, cinnamon, and lemongrass) needed to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The research employed a Post-test Only Control Group Design and was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory of Health Analysts in Yogyakarta from January to October 2020. The study tested essential oils at concentrations of 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0%. The inhibition zones were measured to evaluate effectiveness. Results showed that the inhibition zones for lemongrass oil at concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% against Pseudomonas aeruginosa were 6.85, 7.61, 7.89, and 8.92 mm, respectively. Cinnamon oil exhibited larger inhibition zones against both Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Clove oil had less antibacterial effectiveness compared to cinnamon. Cinnamon oil at 2.00% concentration was very effective against Staphylococcus epidermidis, while 1.50% concentration was adequate for Pseudomonas aeruginosa
