    Mechanical Properties and Homogenous Analysis of Semirigid Polyurethane Foam used in Headliner Roof Top Manufacturing Process

    In the automotive industry with four wheels or more, polyurethane is used as the main material in making roof top headliners. The process of making roof top headliners often experiences product defects, namely breaks (cracks or fractures). The study was conducted to analyze the homogeneity of mechanical characteristics at various positions in one block of polyurethane foam that had been cut into sheets with a thickness of 8 mm. Samples were taken representing vertical and horizontal positions and tested using the true experiment spatial sampling method. From this study, it was found that the density in one block of semi-rigid polyurethane foam was not homogeneous. There were differences in density in the upper, middle and lower materials in zones 1 to 9. The density value is directly proportional to the bending strength value and inversely proportional to the elongation value. In the zone where the elongation value is low, there is a risk of product defects in the form of fractures if the product's formability strength simulated using NX software is higher than 18%

    Corrosion and Wear Rate Analysis of SS304 Stainless Steel with Composite Coating Variations: Aluminum/Silicon Carbide/Epoxy and Titanium Dioxide/Silicon Carbide/Epoxy

    The palm oil industry presents significant challenges to material durability due to its corrosive and abrasive environment, particularly affecting components such as screw conveyors made from SS304 stainless steel. This study aims to analyze the influence of composite coating variations based on epoxy resin with the addition of aluminum (Al), silicon carbide (SiC), and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) on the corrosion and wear rates of SS304 in an H₂SO₄ medium. The methods employed include corrosion testing using the weight loss method in accordance with ASTM G31-72, and wear testing using the Ogoshi method following ASTM G99. Four specimen variations were evaluated: uncoated (Raw), pure epoxy, epoxy–Al–SiC (A), and epoxy–TiO₂–SiC (B).The results indicate that Specimen B exhibited the best corrosion resistance, with the lowest corrosion rate of 0.00798 mm/year, while Specimen A demonstrated the highest wear resistance, with a wear rate of 0.00042 mm³/kg·m. The pure epoxy specimen showed the poorest performance in both aspects. These findings confirm that the incorporation of reinforcing particles into the epoxy matrix plays a significant role in enhancing corrosion and wear resistance, thereby contributing to extended service life and improved equipment efficiency in extreme industrial environments

    The Effect of Spot Welding Current on Shear Strength in St 40 Steel Plate Joints

    Steel has several classifications, one of which is low carbon steel St 40. Low carbon steel plate St 40 is usually used for industry, machinery, shipping, household appliances and others. Although it is a low carbon steel and relatively easier to weld, St 40 steel still requires attention to the effects of heat. Excessive heating can change the microstructure of steel in the heat affected zone (HAZ), which has an impact on its mechanical properties. Controlling the electric current in the spot welding process greatly affects the characteristics of the welding results, such as the quality of the weld, tensile strength, hardness, area of ​​the HAZ, and the strength of external influences. This study aims to investigate the effect of electric current in the spot welding process on the shear strength of St 40 steel plate material. The method used is an experimental test, in which the spot welding process was carried out nine times on St 40 steel with three variations of input current (20.36A, 24.54A, and 28.95A) and a welding time of 8.0 seconds, using the shear test method according to the AWS D8.9M shear test standard.Based on the research results, it can be seen that the highest average shear strength is 6.72 MPa, which occurs at an input current of 28.95 A with an output current of 6011.47 A, a welding time of 8.0 seconds with a heat input of 88007.92 J and the lowest average shear strength is 1.67 MPa at an input current of 20.36 A with an output current of 6011.47 A, a welding time of 8.0 seconds with a heat input of 61894.30 J. This shows that increasing the electric current increases the shear strength value and vice versa

    Project scheduling is a crucial component of construction management, serving as a reference for controlling time, resources, and project progress. Selecting an appropriate scheduling method is essential to ensure that project implementation proceeds effectively and efficiently. This study examines the application of the Model Schedule Project ala Syafriandi (MSPAS) method in a construction project using Microsoft Project software. MSPAS consists of three main components—planning, scheduling, and tracking—which collectively provide comprehensive information regarding project duration, activity dependencies, resource performance, and progress evaluation. The results indicate that the use of MSPAS enhances project efficiency by reducing the project duration from 270 days to 256 days, as well as decreasing indirect project costs by IDR 298,453,596. Furthermore, 287 critical activities were identified, including preparatory work, structural work, architectural work, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks. Therefore, MSPAS can be considered an effective method for optimizing project time and cost in construction management

    Influence of Workload and Work Environment on Employee Performance with Work Motivation as a Mediating Variable at PT MAK

    This study is grounded in the critical role of human resource management within the dynamic maritime logistics industry, where workload and work environment are key factors influencing employee motivation and performance. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of workload and work environment on employee performance, with work motivation serving as a mediating variable, conducted at PT MAK. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey method involving 64 employees as respondents. Data analysis included validity and reliability testing, classical assumption testing, path analysis, and hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that both workload and work environment have a significant effect on work motivation. Furthermore, the work environment has a direct and significant impact on employee performance, whereas workload does not show a direct effect. However, work motivation is proven to mediate the relationship between both workload and work environment on employee performance. This study offers valuable contributions by providing practical insights for organizations, particularly in the maritime logistics sector, emphasizing the importance of effective workload management and a supportive work environment in enhancing employee motivation and performance. The results may serve as a reference for the formulation of human resource policies aimed at improving operational productivity.   Penelitian ini didasarkan pada peran penting manajemen sumber daya manusia dalam industri logistik maritim yang dinamis, di mana beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja merupakan faktor kunci yang memengaruhi motivasi dan kinerja karyawan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, dengan motivasi kerja sebagai variabel mediasi, yang dilakukan di PT MAK. Desain penelitian kuantitatif digunakan dengan metode survei yang melibatkan 64 karyawan sebagai responden. Analisis data meliputi uji validitas dan reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, analisis jalur, dan uji hipotesis. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja. Lebih lanjut, lingkungan kerja memiliki pengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, sementara beban kerja tidak menunjukkan pengaruh langsung. Namun, motivasi kerja terbukti memediasi hubungan antara beban kerja dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan. Studi ini menawarkan kontribusi berharga dengan memberikan wawasan praktis bagi organisasi, khususnya di sektor logistik maritim, dengan menekankan pentingnya manajemen beban kerja yang efektif dan lingkungan kerja yang suportif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan kinerja karyawan.     Influence of FOMO and Trends on iPhone Purchasing Decisions: A Generation Z Perspective in Semarang City

    The intensifying role of digital social influence combined with continuous exposure to online trends has encouraged impulsive buying behavior among Generation Z. Despite this, limited research has directly explored how Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and Trends contribute to purchasing decisions, particularly in the context of premium products like the iPhone. To address this research gap, the present study analyze the influence of Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) and Trends on iPhone Purchase Decisions, specific focus Generation Z consumers in Semarang City. This study adopts a quantitative design through the use of a survey. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, with criteria specifying that respondents must be members of Generation Z in Semarang who have previously purchased an iPhone and are actively engaged with iPhone-related trends. Data analysis was conducted employing multiple linear regression. The findings and discuss demonstrate that both FOMO and Trends significantly shape purchasing decisions, with FOMO showing a greater impact compared to Trends. These results indicate that the greater the fear of being left out and the higher the engagement with trends, the stronger the tendency to make a purchase. Therefore, the study suggests that companies such as iBox should leverage digital social dynamics by designing marketing strategies based on exclusivity, limited product launches, and collaborations with influencers to reach Generation Z consumers more effectively.   Meningkatnya dorongan sosial di ranah digital serta paparan intens terhadap tren media sosial telah mendorong munculnya perilaku konsumsi impulsif pada Generasi Z. Meski demikian, kajian akademik yang secara khusus meneliti peran Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) dan Tren dalam membentuk keputusan pembelian, khususnya pada produk premium seperti iPhone, masih relatif terbatas. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini dirancang untuk menelaah secara mendalam bagaimana FOMO dan Tren memengaruhi Keputusan Pembelian iPhone dengan menitikberatkan pada Generasi Z di Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui metode survei. Responden dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria bahwa mereka merupakan bagian dari Generasi Z di Kota Semarang yang pernah membeli iPhone sekaligus aktif mengikuti tren terkait produk tersebut. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil pengujian memperlihatkan bahwa baik FOMO maupun Tren berkontribusi signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, dengan FOMO terbukti memberikan pengaruh yang lebih kuat dibandingkan Tren. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa semakin besar rasa takut tertinggal dan semakin tinggi keterlibatan dalam tren, semakin besar pula kecenderungan seseorang untuk melakukan pembelian. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar perusahaan seperti iBox memanfaatkan dinamika sosial digital melalui strategi pemasaran berbasis eksklusivitas, peluncuran produk terbatas, serta kolaborasi dengan influencer guna menjangkau konsumen Generasi Z secara lebih optimal.     OPTIMALISASI PEMANFAATAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA GEN-Z PADA PROSES PEMBELAJARAN ERA REVOLUSI INDUSTRI 4.0

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki kemampuan dan pengetahuan mahasiswa Gen-Z menggunakan AI serta self-awareness dalam AI tersebut agar tetap memahami batasan-batasan etika akademik dalam proses pembelajaran. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi Politeknik Negeri Semarang. Hasil pembahasan sebanyak 64,5% mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi menyatakan bahwa mereka menggunakan AI untuk menulis tugas atau makalah ilmiah lainnya, 72,7% menyatakan bahwa jika mereka tidak tahu mengenai AI, maka mereka akan mencari tahu mengenai kecerdasan buatan. Sebanyak 76,9% mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa AI mempercepat kinerja saat menulis serta 81,8% menyatakan mereka paham mengenai penggunaan fitur-fitur kecerdasan buatan. Selanjutnya 75,2% mahasiswa menyatakan AI membawa dampak positif pada proses pembelajaran dan 65,3% menyatakan akan mengajak orang lain untuk menggunakan AI. Hasil menarik terlihat pada pernyataan pelatihan penggunaan AI di kampus atau tempat lain secara online maupun offline, 42,1% responden menyatakan mereka tidak mengikuti pelatihan penggunaan AI. Mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi sudah mampu beradaptasi dengan kemajuan teknologi dan penguasaan terhadap teknologi walaupun tidak mengikuti pelatihan AI
