    Get PDF
This study aimed to evaluate how technology-mediated learning assists English language learners in improving their speaking skills. The study is action research in which an action plan was made and executed for four weeks. For this study, the cycle used was of Kemmis & McTaggart (1998; 2000). The action plan of this study had four cycles and students were introduced to TED Talks, Flip Grid, and BBC Learning English along with other learning materials. The researcher planned the action after reviewing the literature and did a situation analysis to ponder the reasons for students’ failure to speak the English language. The action plan was executed for four weeks and data were collected by taking students’ interviews and comparing results of pre and post-assessment. The findings of the study showed that technology-mediated learning is effective and helps learners improve their confidence, fluency, grammar, lexical, and pronunciation

Let Them Play: A Systematic Review Investigating the Benefits of Free Play in Emotional Development of Children

    Get PDF
Play-based learning has been increasingly discussed in existing literature as it enhances holistic child development and facilitates essential life skills. Free play is often regarded as most beneficial for child development allowing children to take charge of their learning and encouraging problem-solving skills and creativity. Free play allows children for independent learning as it helps them to gain essential life skills making it an important aspect of holistic child development. Owing to its autonomous nature, it nurtures emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of the personality in early childhood. Therefore, this review of the literature aims to investigate the role of free play in fostering emotional development during early childhood. The researchers employed a systematic literature review. The existing literature on free play was meticulously studied, following the given guidelines and methodological framework. The existing literature suggests that free play can facilitate the development of emotional intelligence, resilience, emotional expression and coping strategies. During free play, children are free to use their imagination and creativity without adult interference which leads to intrinsic motivation, creativity and self-exploration

Autoimmune Polyglandular Syndrome Type 1: An Illustrative Overview

    Get PDF
One of the rarest autoimmune diseases is the autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 1 which is caused by defects in the AIRE gene leading to affection of several endocrine glands. Two out of three criteria are needed for diagnosis including hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency along with other non-endocrinal symptoms such as mucocutaneous candidiasis. Management of the condition is multidisciplinary with regular long-life follow-ups. Generally, there is a paucity of illustrative articles in literature about the pathogenesis and the main signs and symptoms of autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 1 in a simplified manner which lead to the need for such articles. This article attempts to fill that void as an illustrative overview for the purpose of education and awareness about this condition because the early the treating physician can diagnose and accordingly treat the patient, the better the prognosis of the disease becomes with less morbidity and mortality rates

Spectrophotometric Estimation of Phenylephrine Hydrochloride via Oxidative Coupling Reaction with p-Aminobenzophenone

    Get PDF
In this research, a rapid, simple and accurate spectrophotometric approach was described for the estimation of phenylephrine hydrochloride in the pure and in its drug forms. The suggested method was based on the oxidative coupling reaction of phenylephrine hydrochloride with p-aminobenzophenone using potassium periodate as an oxidant. A taupe-red dye was formed at room temperature and showed maximum absorption at 512 nm. The linearity of the standard calibration curve was compatible with Beer\u27s law within the concentration range of 2.0-20 μg/mL with a determination coefficient (r2=0.9986). The apparent molar absorptivity and the sensitivity of Sandell\u27s index were calculated and found to be in the values of 0.552x104 L/mol.cm. and 0.0368 μg/cm2, respectively. The nature of the resulting dye has been studied between phenylephrine hydrochloride to p-aminobenzophenoneand and it was equal to 1:1. The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were estimated and found to be 0.0094 and 0.0313 μg/mL, respectively. A relative standard deviation and a relative error were also calculated and they will be in the range of 0.0715 to 0.0216 and -0.0479% to -0.0145%, respectively. The recommended procedure was applied to assay phenylephrine hydrochloride in drops and injection and no interferences were observed from the common additives found in the drugs

Assessment of Antibacterial Activity in Vitro: Eco-Friendly Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles

    Get PDF
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are one of the most essential and interesting nano materials between different metallic nanoparticles that are implicated in biomedical utilization. The expansion number of resistant bacteria create an inquiry for new antibiotic methods. Metallic nanoparticles have derived as a new platform against different microorganisms. The nanoparticles can by oxidative stress damaging the membrane of bacteria and DNA. Synthesis novel sliver nanoparticles using different reducing and stabilizing agents and Study antibacterial activity of the synthesized silver nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesis by utilizing green, simple and easy approach chemical reduction method using glucose as reducing and gelatin as stabilizing agent. The optimum conditions of AgNPs synthesizing were obtained by varying the concentration of AgNO3, concentration ratio of glucose /AgNO3 and temperature. The synthesized AgNPs were determined by UV—vis spectrum. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. Chemistry method for producing. The obtained AgNPs with particle size 75.7nm. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) showed excellent antibacterial against Gram -negative bacterial strains Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia and Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus

Expression of MacAB-TolC and MdfA Efflux Pumps in Associated with Multi Drug Resistant Salmonella Enterica Serovar Typhi Isolates

    Get PDF
Salmonella Typhi is the cause of typhoid fever. Together, Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella serovar Paratyphi A are the major agents of enteric fever. Typhoid fever affects millions of individuals each year in low-income nations. Human infection severity is determined by infectious doses and organism pathogenicity. Bacterial membrane and periplasm transporter proteins construct this barrier. These proteins remove antimicrobials, organic solvents, and toxic heavy metals from bacterial cells. Overexpression of the macAB-TolC genes induces macrolide resistance in Salmonella enterica. Salmonella pathogenicity is reduced in mice by macAB-TolC gene deletion. Due to its ability to expel structurally unrelated drugs. MdfA, a single cytoplasmic efflux protein, exports antibiotics when overexpressed

    Get PDF
This study aimed to determine the impact of social media marketing on brand trust and online purchase intention, to determine if social media marketing and electronic word of mouth undoubtedly help customers get more and more information about the product or brand more than the conventional means i.e. word of mouth, to determine the impact of brand trust on online purchase intention as well to know the consumer\u27s assurance in purchasing products online. The research design employed in this study is causal research, aimed at understanding the behaviour of social media users. To gather data for the study, social media platforms served as the data collection channels. A total of 219 respondents participated in an online questionnaire, and the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique was utilized to track the hypothesized causal relationships. The outcomes of this study identify that consumers exhibit more trust in social media marketing compared to social EWOM. As a result, it is advisable to prioritize hypotheses that garnered acceptance and appear more viable and dependable for generating online purchase intentions. It\u27s important to note that this research is confined to the apparel industry, with data primarily collected from urban areas due to their higher levels of literacy, awareness, fashion sense, technology use, and income compared to rural areas, where social media device usage is limited
