Impact of Gender Identity Conflict on Mental Wellbeing with Mediating Role of Body Satisfaction in Emerging Adults

This research aimed to investigate the impact of conflicted gender identity on mental well-being with the mediating role of body satisfaction in emerging adults. A cross-sectional research design was used to collect data from the emerging adults with at least an intermediate level of education. Results indicated that gender identity conflict had a negative relationship, while body satisfaction had a significant positive relationship with mental well-being. When gender identity conflict decreases, mental well-being increases because a high score on the gender identity conflict questionnaire represents low gender dysphoria and a high score on the mental well-being questionnaire indicates good mental well-being. When body satisfaction increases, mental well-being also increases. Gender identity conflict and body satisfaction emerged as significant predictors of mental well-being. The result also showed that body satisfaction significantly mediated the relationship between gender identity conflict and mental well-being. This research helps in evaluating the recent rising trends of conflicted gender identity and body image in emerging adults, moreover, its adverse effects on mental wellbeing could be minimized

This study aimed to investigate the teaching strategies used by English teachers to enhance ESL writing skills at the O-level and SSC levels in Karachi, Pakistan, focusing on comparing the differences in their teaching approaches. The study followed mixed method research. A questionnaire was administered to English teachers at both levels to collect empirical data. On the other hand, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interview questions from English teachers at both levels in Karachi. The findings from quantitative data, through mean difference, reveal that the English teachers at both streams employed global problem-solving and support writing teaching strategies, with slight differences in their teaching approach. Furthermore, applying the T-test over SPSS software also revealed that there was no significant difference between the two groups of English teachers at O-level and SSC-level in adopting teaching strategies for teaching writing in Karachi. The findings from qualitative data through thematic analysis proposed the use of multiple specific strategies such as resources-based, task-based, and activity-based teaching strategies. Despite differences in both the education systems, the results suggest that there is coherence in writing pedagogy across the two levels

Sleep Quality and Work Engagement as Serial Mediators in the Path Between Social Networking Addiction and Work Performance among Working Adults

This study explored how social networking addiction correlates with work performance in working adults, using both sleep quality and work engagement as the mediators in that order.  The Sample comprised working adults from 4 different work settings (hospital staff, teaching staff, industry, and marketing), which included males and females. For the assessment purpose, the Social Networking Addiction Scale, the Individual Job Performance scale, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, and the Sleep Condition Indicator were used. Findings revealed that social networking addiction is linked to sleep quality and work performance; however, the serial mediation effect as proposed was not shown. The differences proved to be statistically significant in various organisational situations, implying that the workplace milieus moderate these associations. Overall, the research provides valuable information about how social networking practices affect occupational performance and the need to be cautious in the application of social media in the work environment

The recent study aimed to screen suitable plant extracts to control the snail especially which have medical importance. The Molluscicidal activity of leaves, stems, and seeds from Acacia farnesiana, Alhagi maurorum and Myrtus communis against the snail Physella acuta was studied. The plant M. communis was more toxic than the A. farnesiana and A. maurorum to the snail P. acuta. The stem extract of M. communis and A. farnesiana was more toxic than leaf and seed.  The seed of A. maurorum was more toxic than the stem and leaf. LC50 of leaf from A. farnesiana, A. maurorum and M. communis were recorded as 24.1, 38.8, and 6.5 part per million (ppm) respectively. LC50 of the stem were (13, 43.8, and 2.7 ppm) respectively. LC50 of seed were recorded as (15.3, 21.7, and 20.2 ppm) respectively. The study concluded that the plant extracts utilized were have molluscicidal activity and can used to kill the snails

Shari’ah and Digital Currencies: Analyzing Cryptocurrency in the Islamic Finance Framework

From the historical development of currency and an Islamic perspective, it is evident that the use of any specific form of currency whether gold, silver, or any other medium is not mandated by religious commandments. Instead, currency is seen as a social convention, determined by what people collectively agree to use as a means of exchange. The emergence of cryptocurrency, or technology-based money, has instigated deliberations on whether it complies with Shari\u27ah rules and how it will affect the financial and economic sectors, especially in the context of the Islamic financial environment. As a result, in today\u27s high-tech world, the necessity for research into the possible effects of this new currency on the Islamic financial system has become a more pressing issue. This research adopts a ‘normative research’ approach applied to understand, evaluate, and offer recommendations for future actions. A comprehensive analysis of the body of existing literature and a careful review of the secondary data from various sources insights into the nature of cryptocurrency, its Shari’ah compliance, and the potential impact of its adoption in the Islamic financial system

The Role of Technological Innovation and ICT in Ecological Footprint: Evidence from Asian Countries

The study investigated the technological innovation, information and communication technology (ICT), gross domestic product (GDP), trade openness, and urban population on ecological footprints in Asian countries. The data from 1990-2023 was used to estimate the mentioned objective. The study employed an autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model. To assess the robust results and comparison, the study used three models, including pooled mean group (PMG), mean group (MG), and dynamic fixed effect group (DFE). The resulting statistics obtained from the test suggested the pooled mean group and dynamic fixed effect to be superior to the mean group. Findings suggest that technological innovation and ICT have a negative and significant relationship with ecological footprints in the long run in Asian countries. The coefficient for economic growth, trade and urbanisation demonstrated a positive association with ecological footprints and held statistical significance in Asian countries. To mitigate ecological footprints, Asian countries must establish and enforce strict environmental regulations that promote the adoption of green technologies and discourage environmentally harmful practices

This study aimed to explore the influencing factors of smart cities on e-government (e-gov) in KSA. It also included the overview of smart cities and their applications, e-gov platforms, and the benefits of e-gov in KSA. After exploring the detailed definitions, the study identified the benefiting scenarios of e-gov in KSA, and discusses the different opportunities. By merging and contrasting the themes or metaphors of several qualitative research, the meta-synthesis technique is used to construct interpretative translation, lay the foundation for theories, or ground narratives. This technique compares, interprets, translates, and synthesizes several research frameworks to integrate many studies to create complete and interpretative findings. The findings reveal that e-gov is essential for improving government efficiency and serving the public, however, the Line City in KSA has emerged as the most well-known and cutting-edge of these smart towns in terms of maintaining 100% natural living along with a complete reliance on natural energy and lack of usage of vehicles
