    Geological Characteristics and Petrography of Granite of Baru Area, Malakand, Pakistan

    Granites are the key rocks of the continental crust that occur in almost all the orogenic belts of the world. This research paper is focusing on the mineral resources and structural elements of granitic rock of the Baru area of Malakand Agency of Pakistan. Petrographical study and Geological mapping of the study were carried out in several rock units. The study is emphasizing on the regional and local geological setting as well as the origin and evaluation of different granitic rock units in the area of Baru, Malakand Agency, Pakistan. The mineralized fractures are in the form of a single fracture or group of fractures with convergence and divergence phenomena. The mineralized fractures are hosted by the fine-med. grained foliated granite is more pronounced as compared to the fractures in the fine-grained sheared granite/aplite

    The connectivity failure could be contributed by device, intermediate device, configuration, problem of duplicates IP, software problem or physical cable. The rise of connectivity problem has become a trend with a virtual interconnectivity when involves Internet of Things (IoT). Many connectivity are dependent to each other. A dependency between each interconnection can cause a limited information transfer if the chain is broken which causes inaccurate data path during travelling to the destination. Application sensors will collect a huge data, but the consumption of the architecture’s loading and processing based on real time and traffic can cause a segmentation of suggestion to change. One of the example is a community based driven application, which depends on users to activate the application to get an information in real time. The more users activate the application, the more accurate route suggestion will be.     Potentials of biomass briquetting and utilization: the Nigerian perspective

    Nigeria can reduce its carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas emissions by switching from fossil-based to biomass-derived fuels. This abundant renewable resource with great potential is currently the most widespread form of renewable energy with comparatively little pollution emissions. Its utilization is further increasing globally due to the concerns over the deleterious effect of the use of fossil fuels on climate change, global warming, and human general well-being. Biomass can be converted into gaseous, liquid, and/or solid biofuels as well as other raw chemical materials and products. Among the biomass conversion technologies, biomass briquetting is one of the means that is storable and portable with a low heating cost. There is huge biomass briquetting feedstock in Nigeria but the technology and market are grossly underdeveloped. The gains of approving the ratification of the Doha Amendment of the Kyoto Protocol on climate change would help Nigeria attract financial assistance and develop its home-grown technologies for biomass briquetting.In line with that, the present study reviews the different sources of biomass available, biomass briquetting feedstock potentials, and the glaring energy paucity. It also highlighted the need for government to provide an appropriate policy framework for the growth of the industry

    Histopathological effects of tobacco leaf extract on juvenile African catfish muscle

    In Subsahara Africa, most indigenous small and medium scale catfish farmers have relied on the effectiveness of tobacco leave (Nicotiana tobacum) to treat ponds before stocking. Nicotiana tobacum in solution eliminates microbes and toxins which can be harmful to fish health. As a follow up, it is necessary to investigate if a left over minute concentration, has adverse effect on aquatic health. For this reason, the effect of ethanol extracts of Nicotiana tobacum leaf on the histopathology of muscles of juvenile fresh water Clarias gariepinus (African catfish) was investigated. The fish were acclimated for 14 days. Sublethal concentrations (0.25 mg/l, 0.50 mg/l, 0.75 mg/l, 1.00 mg/l and 1.25 mg/l) of ethanol leaf extract of Nicotiana tobacum in aqueous media were prepared. Each aquarium had 10 juveniles of mean length 6.9 ± 0.62 cm. After initial acclimation, the fish was exposed to the media for 96 hours. Histopathological micrograph of the catfish muscle tissue exposed to sublethal concentrations of Nicotiana tobacum indicate breakage of myofibrils, disintegrated myotomes, bunding of myotomes, lesions, hemorrhage and tissue inflammation. Preliminary Scanning electron microscopy of the ethanol extract of Nicotiana tobacum leaves showed the micro surface structure (morphology) and elemental composition of the extract. Results obtained from this work indicate that Nicotiana tobacum used as a biological control to eradicating predators and unwanted organisms in the ponds by local farmers in place of agrochemicals, if not controlled can exact varying degree of negative histopathological effect on the muscles of juvenile African cat fish, Clarias gariepinus

    Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is gaining fast global acceptance as a standard to assume environmentally sustainable and socially equitable business practices. Sustainable development, on the other, is emerged as a new development paradigm to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The study aims at investigating CSR activities in the way of sustainable development of Bangladesh. In doing so, extensive desk study and literature survey were done. Although internationally CSR is being practiced in the way of sustainable development widely, Bangladesh is still lagging behind. The difference between the world standard and the practice in Bangladesh shows the lacking here and the scope for further development. There are many challenges to implement CSR in Bangladesh. But its future and prospects are good. Companies can contribute to social and environmental objectives, through integrating CSR as a strategic investment into their core business strategy, management instruments and operations leading to the sustainable development of Bangladesh

    Parkinson’s Diagnosis through Compressed Speech Signals at remote Locations

    Rapid increase in Parkinson’s disease all over the world before the age of 60’s is alarming. Parkinson’s affects the neurological controls of human body. In this paper we intend to adopt machine based learning to automate the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease with help of compressed speech signals sent via network. An advanced Solution is proposed to automate the diagnosis process more rapid than that of ordinary process. In this study Speech samples from 55 subjects have been collected, 43 with Parkinson Disease and 12 Healthy subjects. Speech signals from clients captured from various sensors and devices transmitted to the cloud for processing. In the cloud Speech samples are compressed using compression codecs MP3, MP4, G.722, G.226, GSM-EFR, AMR-WB, SVOPC/SILK, and OPUS, and then same are diagnosed without compression impact and deliver accurate results. Three classifiers SVM (Support Vector Machine), NN (Neural Network), and GA (Genetic Algorithm) are applied and calculated accurate results as compared with compressed and un-compressed voice samples. Successful experiments enabled us to achieve 90.7% accuracy. Same process can be used for online and social media applications which are available in portable devices as well

    As the first dictionary analyzing the structures of Chinese characters, explaining the meanings and identifying the pronunciations, the book ShuoWenJieZi (literally means discussing writing and explaining characters) compiled by Xu Shen in the Eastern Han Dynasty is of important significance in the Chinese language history as well as social language history. By means of researches on the section headers related to “fish” in the book, the development of both the fishery and fish food culture in the Qin and Han Dynasties can be discussed. Based on the section headers related to “fish” in the book ShuoWenJieZi, this paper analyzes the fishery development in the Qin and Han dynasties and examines the tradition of food culture reflected by the section headers related to “fish” as well as the prosperity and development of fish-eating culture

    Lithium ion battery research and development: the Nigerian potential

    Lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) are growing in popularity as energy storage devices. Handheld, portable electronic devices use LiBs based on Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LiCoO2) which in spite of its attendant safety risks offers high energy density. Other types of LiBsbased on Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), Lithium-ion manganese oxide (LiMn2O4, Li2MnO3, or LMO), and Lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (LiNiMnCoO2 or NMC) have better safety issues with lower energy density. These batteries which are rechargeable are used in cell phones, laptops and tablets, electric and hybrid cars (EV), grid storage, cordless power tools, medical equipment, and other high-tech devices. Nigeria, with a population above two hundred million, is a big market for lithium-ion batteries. The mineral ore for the cathode of lithium-ion batteries is available in Kogi, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Kwara, Cross River, Oyo, and the Plateau States. These include amblygonite(Li,Na)AlPO4(F,OH), Lithium Sodium Aluminum Phosphate Fluoride Hydroxide and lepidolite (K(Li,Al)3(Al,Si, Rb)4O10(F,OH)2, Potassium lithium aluminum silicate hydroxide fluoride, spodumene: (LiAl(SiO3)2 Lithium Aluminum Silicate, petalite: (LiAl(Si2O5)2 aluminum hydroxy-[hydroxy(oxo)silyl]oxy- oxosilane; lithium), and graphite which is used as the anode material is available in Kaduna and the Adamawa States. In view of these available resources, the Projects Development Institute (PRODA) Enugu, a Science and Engineering based Research Institute under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has pioneered battery research and development with a particular focus on Lithium-ion batteries. It is expected in the long run that lithium-ion batteries would be produced locally for rechargeable lanterns in view of the country’s energy deficit. This would spring up small and medium enterprises that would drive the economy by the beneficiation and refining of the content of the raw material which is available in the country and thus creating wealth for our citizenry

But research and educational progress of palliative care are still scarce in present day technology based knowledge of medical biology.
