Enhancing Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes through Interactive Approaches in College Vocal Music Instruction
Get PDFThis study investigates the enhancement of student engagement and learning outcomes in college vocal music instruction at Bozhou University, Anhui Province, China, through the implementation of interactive approaches. Recognizing the pivotal role of music education in shaping artistic and academic development, the research addresses the current challenges in student engagement and identifies the pressing need for innovative instructional strategies. The study employs a qualitative research design, conducting in-depth interviews with 25 undergraduate students to explore their perceptions of current vocal music instruction and the impact of interactive methodologies. Findings reveal diverse student perspectives on teaching methods, engagement levels, collaborative learning, technology integration, and assessment processes. The study highlights the potential of interactive elements, such as active learning strategies and technology-assisted instruction, to positively influence student engagement. Furthermore, it explores the implications of interactive approaches on learning outcomes, emphasizing holistic skill development and leveraging technology for effective learning facilitation. The discussion outlines practical implications for curriculum design, educator professional development, and the creation of a supportive learning environment. The findings contribute valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on effective music education strategies, providing a foundation for curriculum refinement and innovation in the evolving landscape of collegiate music education

Grounded in a robust literature review, the paper highlights the importance of curriculum design, instructional techniques, assessment methods, and the seamless integration of technology in shaping impactful music education experiences.Theoretical frameworks, notably the Suzuki Method and Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory, offer insights into pedagogical and socio-cultural aspects, emphasizing the creation of positive and immersive musical environments and collaborative learning experiences. Subsequently, the paper presents effective strategies, including the incorporation of technology, active learning approaches, and the customization of lessons to individual needs. The multifaceted benefits of music practical teaching in cognitive, emotional, and social domains are explored, emphasizing its role in holistic preschooler development. The study advocates for continuous professional development for music educators, stressing the importance of staying abreast of evolving pedagogical trends, engaging in collaboration and networking, and remaining informed about current trends and research in music education. By embracing these strategies, educators can cultivate a vibrant and enriching musical environment that fosters a lifelong love for music and nurtures the holistic development of preschool learners
Students' Self-Control and Self-Efficacy Through Yoga Practices and Their Influences on Academic Performance
Get PDFThis study explores the influence of yoga practices on self-control, self-efficacy, and academic performance among female college students at Yunnan Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture. A qualitative approach was employed, involving semi-structured interviews with thirty female students enrolled in yoga courses. The integration of yoga philosophy and Self-Determination Theory (SDT) provided a theoretical framework for examining the potential benefits of yoga practice. Thematic analysis revealed that yoga significantly enhances self-control through mindfulness and self-discipline, improves self-efficacy by fostering a sense of accomplishment and community, and positively impacts academic performance by promoting stress management and focus. These findings suggest that integrating yoga into educational settings can support students' well-being and academic success. However, the study's limitations, including its focus on female participants and potential biases, indicate the need for further research to generalize the results across diverse populations and educational contexts

As a means of preserving cultural identity and fostering community cohesion, Dai Ethnic Folk Dance plays a significant role in Dai cultural expression, particularly during festive occasions and traditional ceremonies. With China's modernization and globalization, there is a growing interest in blending traditional dance forms with contemporary artistic expressions, presenting an opportunity to revitalize ethnic dance traditions while stimulating creativity in Chinese dance. This research investigates the integration of Dai Ethnic Folk Dance into contemporary choreography, focusing on practitioners' perceptions and approaches to this fusion. Through qualitative interviews with students and teachers from Chinese dance programs at prominent universities, this study explores the implications of incorporating Dai Ethnic Folk Dance into modern dance practices. Findings reveal a shared belief in the potential for blending traditional Dai dance elements with modern choreographic techniques, enriching the Chinese dance landscape and promoting intercultural dialogue. Contemporary College Students' Cognitive Situation and Exploration in Green Wealth View---A Case Study of Zhejiang Yuexiu University
Get PDFWith the escalation of global environmental issues, college students, as the leading figures of the new era, play a crucial role in understanding and practicing the Green wealth view.This paper aims to explore college students' awareness of the green wealth view and analyze their roles and responsibilities in promoting the harmonious coexistence between environmental sustainability and economic prosperity. Firstly, the discussions on the green wealth view in the article are deficient,and that are mainly focus on ecological environment and resource conservation. Subsequently, through methods such as questionnaire surveys, inductive analysis, and literature research, the paper investigates college students' cognitive development regarding the green wealth view. It is found that college students have a serious lack in cognizing the concept of green wealth nowadays.Finally, the article summarizes the roles and responsibilities of college students in practicing the green wealth view, emphasizing the importance and urgency of nurturing college students with the right green wealth view. Faced with the challenges of global environmental issues, college students should embrace the mission entrusted by the times, actively participate in the creation and sharing of green wealth, and contribute to building an environmentally friendly society
Study on the Symbols "Sheng" and "Zu" in Hongshan Culture Rock Paintings
Get PDFFertility and ancestor worship are important expressions of social ecology and natural views in Hongshan culture. Based on archaeological findings, numerous archaeological remains related to fertility have been found in Hongshan culture sites. These artifacts reflect the worship, respect, and emphasis on female fertility by the people of Hongshan culture. Additionally, Hongshan culture demonstrates reverence for its ancestors. Archaeological studies have uncovered numerous sacrificial sites and offerings, indicating the reverence and sacrificial activities towards ancestors during the Hongshan culture period. Ancestor worship evolved from primitive totem worship in transitioning from matrilineal to patrilineal societies. Recent surveys and field investigations of rock paintings in the Chifeng region have identified 130 individual "Sheng" and "Zu" character rock paintings, meticulously documented through data recording. Comparative studies of similar "Sheng" and "Zu" character symbols in artifacts and rock paintings from the Hongshan culture period reveal the culture's emphasis on fertility, ancestor worship, and reverence for life. These beliefs and cultural traits were fully expressed in Hongshan culture and profoundly influenced subsequent cultural developments and people's values. This study enhances our understanding of the beliefs and values of the people of Hongshan culture, their regard for life, fertility, and ancestors, and the role of these symbols in cultural transmission
An Ethnographic Exploration of Performance-Based Learning in Chinese University Music Education

Through observations and interviews, the study examines how live demonstrations, student performances, and ensemble practices contribute to students' technical proficiency, musical interpretation, collaborative skills, and self-confidence. The findings reveal high levels of student engagement and appreciation for hands-on learning, with significant improvements in instrumental and vocal skills. However, challenges such as performance anxiety, resource limitations, time management issues, and varying levels of preparedness were also identified. Recommendations include implementing workshops for anxiety management, increasing funding for facilities, developing structured practice schedules, and introducing peer mentoring programs. The study underscores the importance of integrating traditional Chinese music with contemporary practices, ensuring a well-rounded and culturally enriched music education that prepares students for diverse careers in the global music industry

Findings reveal that while significant progress has been made in improving educational quality and infrastructure, challenges remain in sustainability, market alignment, and support mechanisms. Using Huaiyin Normal University as a case study, the research examines current vocal instruction practices within its Music Department, identifying both strengths and areas needing improvement. The study first provides an overview of traditional and contemporary pedagogical approaches, highlighting the importance of student-centered learning and the integration of technology in music education. Data were collected through interviews with vocal instructors and surveys with students to analyze the effectiveness of existing methods and the feedback from those directly involved. Key findings reveal a need for greater incorporation of collaborative learning, multicultural repertoires, and personalized vocal techniques to foster a more engaging and comprehensive learning environment. The study discusses the implications of these findings for higher education in music and compares them with practices at other institutions. It also addresses the challenges faced in implementing innovative strategies and provides practical recommendations for curriculum development. This research contributes to the broader discourse on enhancing vocal education through adaptive, inclusive, and modernized teaching practices
