    Get PDF
As a community of multicultural and religions, the effective governance of ethnic and religious affairs is of great significance for maintaining the stability within the EU and promoting the harmony and cooperation among member states. The EU has strengthened ethnic and religious governance by promoting multicultural policies, implementing regional policies, establishing conflict prevention and mediation mechanisms, promoting cross-border cooperation and integration process, focusing on protecting the rights and freedom of citizens, establishing a legal and policy framework, and strengthening dialogue. However, under the rise of populism, the EU is severely challenged, including the intensification of immigration and refugee problems, the insufficient response to religious extremism and terrorist threats and the lack of coherence and consistency of policies, the lack of effective communication and dialogue mechanisms, and insufficient regulation. The article suggests vigilance the dangers of populism, strengthening the rule of law, focusing on education and publicity, preventing and responding to extremism, and promoting the integration of economic development and society. The EU has taken measures, such as promoting legal policy making, strengthening dialogue mechanisms and the governance of migrants, but it still needs to focus on social integration to maintain stability and solidarity. Other countries can learn from the EU experience and develop religious governance strategies adapted to their own situation

    Get PDF
In Systemic Functional Linguistics, grammatical metaphor is categorized into ideational and interpersonal types. Translation, as a process of code-switching, involves choosing between congruent and metaphorical forms, each serving different communicative purposes. Distinguishing these forms clarifies their distinct functions. This paper explores the use and importance of grammatical metaphors in translating The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language based on the author’s independent translation practice. Given this, the study achieves three objectives through quantitative and qualitative analysis: (1) examining the distribution of grammatical metaphors in the translation of The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language; (2) exploring the reasons behind their emergence; and (3) analyzing the role these metaphors play in the translation. Translation strategies were classified into two types based on the retention of grammatical metaphors: congruent translation, which simplifies the text and reduces metaphors, and metaphorical translation, which sustains a formal, academic, and concise style. The study reveals that the same translation techniques can be applied across various word, sentence, and text types, with different contexts requiring different methods even for identical grammatical and semantic units. Regardless of whether metaphors are retained, it is essential to ensure faithfulness, fluency, and aesthetics of the translation. Translators should avoid rigid application and decide on metaphor preservation based on the specific context and text type to best convey the original meaning

    Get PDF
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), as a precious treasure of China has played an indispensable role in combating the COVID-19 epidemic, and receiving widespread attention and high regard. The Chinese pharmaceutical industry is gradually on the Road of Revival. However, there are still many bottlenecks restricting internationalization of TCM. How to specifically expand the international market, optimize product structure, and enhance the competitiveness of TCM exports are key and difficult issues. In light of this, this article selects "Australia" as a typical region with a solid foundation for the development of TCM, and innovatively classifies TCM products into four major categories based on its market access policies. By applying STATA to construct an ARIMA model, this study analyzes and forecasts the total export volume of TCM to Australia, the export structure of each category, and the export value for the Q3 2024-Q2 2026 based on data from 2016 to Q2 2024. The results reveal that there is significant potential in the Australian market for the export of TCM. However, the export structure is heavily skewed towards primary products, with the growth rate of high-value-added products being relatively slow. Consequently, it is recommended to increase investment in the research and development of TCM, enhance consumer education to address cultural differences, promote the export of high-value-added products, strengthen the docking of international standards and export certification of products, reinforce brand building and bolster government guidance and talent cultivation to enhance the international competitiveness of the TCM

    Get PDF
The "Indo Pacific Economic Framework" (IPEF) is the economic pillar established by the Biden government for the "Indo Pacific Strategy. It aims to complement the weaknesses of the U.S. economic strategy in the Indo Pacific region, strengthen ties with other countries, and has a clear tendency of anti Chinese, aiming to create a "new economic order in Indo Pacific" that excludes China. Due to various constraints, the effectiveness of the Indo Pacific economic framework has yet to be evaluated. By examining the main contents of the current IPEF, this paper compares it with other existing regional free trade agreements (FTA), analyzes the impact of IPEF on the political and economic situation of the entire Indo Pacific region, and discusses how China can better respond to the "containment" of IPEF and minimize the negative impact

To explore the psychological condition of medical personnel in fever clinic in Taishan City under the background of normalized epidemic prevention and control, and to analyze the related influencing factors. The medical staff of fever outpatient clinics in 24 medical institutions in Taishan City under the prevention and control of the normalized COVID-19 outbreak were selected as the study subjects, using the whole-population sampling method. The psychological status of the medical staff of the fever outpatient clinics and their influencing factors were analyzed by using statistical methods such as multiple linear regression, with the Self-rating Scale of Mental Health Symptoms, the Stress Perception Scale, and the Family Apathy Index. In the study,a total of 422 questionnaires were collected with a validity rate of 82.46%. Person correlation results showed that stress feeling score was positively correlated with SCL-90 score (r<0.60), and family caring was negatively correlated with SCL-90 score (r<-0.30). Multiple linear regression models showed that respondents had difficulty in falling asleep (b=8.96), early awakening (b=9.07), humanistic care in hospitals (b=6.82), feelings of stress (b=2.29), and family caringness score (b=-1.34), were linearly correlated with the mental health status of medical staff. Medical staff of fever clinics in Taishan City in the context of normalised epidemic prevention and control are still in a highly stressful working environment, resulting in such situations as reduced sleep quality and deteriorated psychological conditions. Hospital management should make effort to provide sufficient humanistic care and sleep guidance for medical staff in fever clinics

Data Assets and Enterprise Total Factor Productivity

    Get PDF
The progression of digital transformation has rendered the assetization of data an inevitable trend. This paper investigates the relationship between data assets and total factor productivity using a sample of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen. We find that data assets enhance firms' total factor productivity via two primary mechanisms: augmenting human capital and fostering innovation within firms. Moreover, this effect is particularly pronounced in large-scale firms, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), as well as firms located in regions characterized by high levels of digitization and economic policy uncertainty. This paper contributes to the literature by enriching and expanding the understanding of the economic consequences of data assets on firms' total factor productivity, while providing a policy rationale for further promoting data assetization as a catalyst for innovation and development
