    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to delve into the influence of tele-rehabilitation nursing on children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. To achieve this, we conducted a thorough search across multiple databases including the Cochrane Library, PubMed, ScienceDirect, CNKI, and WanFang Data, aiming to gather evidence on the efficacy of tele-rehabilitation for cerebral palsy. Subsequently, a comparative analysis was performed to assess the differences in physical structure, function, activities, and participation in daily living activities between children receiving tele-rehabilitation nursing and those undergoing home-based care. For the purpose of this investigation, a total of 30 subjects were divided into two groups: a control group that received tele-rehabilitation nursing, and an observation group that underwent traditional home-based rehabilitation. The findings of our data analysis revealed that tele-rehabilitation nursing significantly improved the daily living abilities of children with cerebral palsy, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Notably, children in the tele-rehabilitation group exhibited a significantly higher level of participation in daily activities compared to the home-based rehabilitation group, while no significant differences were observed in terms of physical structure, function, and activity levels

The Dialectical Relationship of the Arbitrariness and Iconicity of Linguistic Semiotics

    Get PDF
The enduring debate surrounding the arbitrariness and iconicity of linguistic signs centers on the relationship between form and meaning, or signifier and signified. This study aims to clarify the dialectical relationship between these two foundational principles in linguistics. Historically, arbitrariness, as proposed by Ferdinand de Saussure, posits that the connection between a linguistic sign's form and its meaning is conventional and lacks inherent justification. Conversely, iconicity suggests a natural or motivated connection between form and meaning, a view supported by cognitive and functional linguistics. This paper critically reviews the historical and contemporary arguments from both camps, highlighting significant contributions from scholars such as Saussure, Peirce, and Haiman. Through a comprehensive analysis, it is demonstrated that arbitrariness and iconicity are not mutually exclusive but coexist at different levels within language systems. The paper argues for a nuanced understanding that considers both synchronic and diachronic perspectives, ultimately suggesting that these two principles can complement each other, providing a deeper insight into the nature and function of linguistic signs. This study contributes to the broader discussion on the inherent characteristics of language, with implications for linguistic theory, language teaching, translation, and cognitive science

Moderating Role of Corporate Governance on the Effect of Innovation Investment to the Financial Performance among Publicly-listed Software Outsourcing Companies in China

    Get PDF
This study examines the relationship between innovation investment, corporate governance, and financial performance among publicly listed software outsourcing companies in China. Utilizing a mixed methods approach, the research integrates quantitative analysis of financial and governance data with qualitative insights from structured interviews with Chief Financial Officers (CFOs). The study explores how various corporate governance factors, such as board size, independence, meeting frequency, CEO duality, and compensation, influence the effectiveness of innovation investments in enhancing company performance. Findings indicate that while there is a positive correlation between innovation investment and financial performance, the relationship is not statistically significant. Moreover, corporate governance factors, except for board size, do not significantly moderate this relationship. The results suggest that aligning innovation strategies with strong corporate governance practices is essential but not sufficient to ensure enhanced financial outcomes. The study's findings have practical implications for industry practitioners, policymakers, and investors, emphasizing the need for optimized governance structures to support sustainable growth in the software outsourcing sector. However, limitations regarding data reliance, sample size, and sectoral focus are acknowledged, with recommendations for future research to address these constraints and explore additional variables influencing the innovation-performance link

The Differences between Chinese and Western Names and Their Cultural Implications

    Get PDF
Names serve as more than mere identifiers; they embody cultural values, identity formation, and societal norms. This study examines the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western naming conventions, exploring how these practices reflect broader cultural, historical, and religious influences. Drawing on the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, the research investigates how language—and consequently names—shapes worldviews and social structures. In China, naming conventions often emphasize familial ties, cultural heritage, and philosophical principles rooted in Confucian values and ancient traditions. In contrast, Western naming practices tend to prioritize individualism and personal expression, reflecting values of freedom and equality. The study highlights the importance of names in shaping identities and social interactions, particularly in a globalized context. Understanding these distinctions promotes intercultural dialogue and enhances mutual respect between Chinese and Western cultures. The findings suggest that names function as cultural markers, bridging personal identity with collective heritage, and tradition with modernity
