Investigation on the Incidence of Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Among Adolescents in China
This study investigates the incidence and influencing factors of nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents in China. Using a group sampling method, 1,368 students from a high school in Guangxi Province participated in the study by completing electronic questionnaires. The NSSI diagnostic criteria from the DSM-5 were applied to identify cases. Results revealed an NSSI incidence rate of 18.72%, with no significant gender differences. However, significant variations were observed based on age, residence, mental health status, family environment, social relationships, and academic performance. The study underscores the need for targeted prevention and intervention programs by health sectors, educational institutions, and policymakers to mitigate the prevalence of NSSI and promote adolescent mental health
Analysis of The Professional Development Program of General Foundation Course Teachers In Higher Vocational Colleges in China:Basis for The Teacher Professional Development Framework
Higher vocational education in China plays a vital role in national economic development by preparing a skilled workforce. General Foundation Courses (GFC) are crucial in this system, providing essential skills in mathematics, language, and basic sciences, yet they often receive less attention and fewer resources compared to specialized courses. This disparity leads to outdated teaching methods and insufficient professional development for GFC teachers. Professional Development Programs (PDPs) aim to address these issues, but their effectiveness needs thorough evaluation. This study assesses the current state of PDPs for GFC teachers in China's higher vocational colleges, identifying challenges and proposing a comprehensive framework for improvement. Using qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews with 12 GFC teachers and document analysis, the study highlights the importance of institutional support, relevance of training programs, and continuous professional development. Findings suggest that increased resources, customized PDPs, and ongoing professional growth opportunities are crucial for enhancing teaching practices and student outcomes. The study's implications underscore the need for policymakers and educational administrators to prioritize resource allocation, design tailored PDPs, and promote continuous learning to improve the quality of vocational education and contribute valuable insights to the literature on teacher professional development
Analysis of the Clinical Value of High-Frequency Ultrasound in Differentiating Orbital Lymphoma from Inflammatory Pseudotumor
This study aims to investigate the clinical value of high-frequency ultrasound in distinguishing between orbital lymphoma and inflammatory pseudotumor. The research questions include: Can high-frequency ultrasound provide sufficient information to differentiate these two lesions? What is its diagnostic accuracy? What are the advantages and limitations of high-frequency ultrasound compared to existing imaging techniques? By addressing these questions, we hope to offer clinicians a more effective and safer diagnostic tool to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with orbital lymphoma and inflammatory pseudotumor
Study on Sleep Procrastination Behavior and Psychological Prevention Strategies Among University Students During Vocational Awareness Internships
The concept of sleep procrastination is a newly introduced notion in the field of health behavior procrastination. It can be summarized as the behavior where individuals, without any external hindrances, still choose to delay their predetermined sleep time. With the rapid development of the socio-economic environment and the internet, people are increasingly going to bed later, making sleep procrastination more prevalent. However, psychological research on sleep procrastination in China remains significantly lacking. This study aims to investigate the current state of sleep procrastination behavior among college students during vocational awareness internships and propose psychological intervention strategies. Through an electronic questionnaire survey of 641 students majoring in Infant Care Services and Management from a vocational college in Weifang, Shandong Province, 541 valid responses were obtained after excluding invalid questionnaires. The results showed that the sleep procrastination behavior of the students was at a moderate to low level, with no significant impact from variables such as only-child status, gender, and place of origin. This study proposes intervention strategies for sleep procrastination behavior among college students through behavior intervention, psychological adjustment, and environmental optimization to improve sleep quality, overall quality of life, and academic performance in vocational awareness
Characteristics of Risky Internet Behavior and Psychological Intervention Methods among College Students in Reproductive Health Management
In recent years, the phenomenon of internet dependency among college students in reproductive health management has become increasingly severe, particularly with the widespread adoption of online education, which has significantly increased the time they spend online, exacerbating internet dependency issues. Internet dependency not only affects academic performance and daily life but can also lead to psychological and social problems such as anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal. Therefore, early detection of risky internet behavior in students has become an important topic. This paper summarizes the characteristics of risky internet behavior among college students through literature research, including loss of time management, noticeable emotional fluctuations, changes in social behavior, and decline in academic performance. It proposes a series of measures for the early identification and intervention of risky internet behavior, providing references for educators and parents. The results of this study show that early detection of risky internet behavior in college students and active psychological intervention are of great significance
On the Narrative of “Things” in Tobacco Road
American writer E.,Erskine Caldwell’ s novel Tobacco Road depicts the ignorant, backward and miserable lives of poor whites in the American South, revealing the ills of the southern society during that era. In the novel, the boundaries between people and objects are blurred, and people are objectified as victims of land and social oppression. Furthermore, things have an active power in the novel, driving the plot and carrying historical and spatial significance at the same time. The dilapidated houses and deserted farmland symbolise the end of an era and foreshadow social change. By analysing the “things” in the work, we can gain a deeper understanding of the tensions between peasants and natural resources, as well as the injustices in the social structure. The perspective of the object narrative also provides us with profound social and cultural insights into the economic exploitation and cultural oppression suffered by the poor sharecroppers in the South under the imperial rule
