    Get PDF
On December 25, 1979, after the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Pakistan became a frontline country to contain the Soviet Union’s southward expansion. In view of its goals of global containment of the Soviet Union, maintaining stability in the South Asian region, and preventing South Asian countries from swinging to the Soviet Union, the United States actively seeks cooperation of Pakistan to curb USSR expansionism and increase the security costs of invading the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. Due to the fact that the amount of the Carter administration’s aid program for Pakistan was far from what the Zia Haq administration wish to get, and the Carter administration had repeatedly suppressed Pakistan due to nuclear issues, coupled with the fact that the United States had not explicitly supported Pakistan in all previous Indo-Pak wars. The combination of multiple factors resulted in the Carter administration not attracting Pakistan to promise cooperation in resisting the Soviet Union

    Get PDF
In the realm of competitive sports, athletes face a complex landscape that extends beyond physical demands. The dynamics of athlete-coach relationships, peer interactions, and societal expectations shape their experiences, especially for new athletes. This study delves into the intricate interplay between two fundamental constructs: domination and courage in the context of coaching programs. Domination in sports manifests through coach-athlete power dynamics, peer pressure, and societal expectations. Coaches wield significant influence, impacting athletes' autonomy and decision-making. Peer interactions exert unspoken pressures to conform to team norms, while external societal expectations, such as academic success and career prospects, add further complexity to athletes' pursuits. Courage emerges as a critical attribute, enabling athletes to confront challenges, embrace uncertainties, and persevere in adversity. Athletes exhibit courage by asserting individuality, challenging established norms, and demonstrating resilience. This courage serves as a mechanism for resilience and empowerment, allowing athletes to navigate and transcend domination. Holistic athlete development is emphasized, extending beyond physical training to encompass mental and emotional empowerment. Coaching programs should create supportive and empowering environments, prioritizing athlete autonomy, mental resilience, and well-being. This study provides valuable insights into the experiences of new athletes, highlighting the pivotal role of courage in mitigating domination and fostering comprehensive athlete development

A Review of Researches on the Relationship Between Critical Thinking and Emotion at Home and Abroad

    No full text
Critical thinking is a key component of essential literacy skills, and it plays a crucial role in students' learning and development. Research shows that emotions have a significant influence on individual thinking activities, and they are important non-intellectual factors in developing students' critical thinking. Up to now, research scholars at home and abroad have conducted a lot of empirical studies to explore the possible relationship between the two variables. However, there is still a lack of research to systematically provide a holistic view. The current study is trying to present a comprehensive network of critical thinking and emotions through the discussion on the four-aspect correlation, that is, the correlation between critical thinking and negative emotion, critical thinking and emotional intelligence, critical thinking, emotion and academic achievement, and critical thinking, emotion and psychological cognition. The study also puts forward the limitations of the current research from the perspectives of research methods, research objects, and research contents, as well as the prospect of future research

    Get PDF
This paper explores the intricate tapestry of Anhui's  traditional music culture, situated in the heart of China, where history, geography, and artistic expressions converge. Spanning epochs marked by conflicts and migrations, Anhui's Traditional Music emerges as a resilient testament to the diversity inherent in Chinese musical history. However, the study unveils critical challenges threatening its inheritance and development. Weak awareness, insufficient exploration of cultural resources, and a succession gap demand urgent attention. Addressing these challenges, the paper proposes practical strategies for the revitalization of Anhui's musical heritage. Broadening dissemination paths, innovating traditional music content, strengthening cultural inheritor training, and integrating music culture into schools form a comprehensive framework. Beyond academic discourse, these strategies present a proactive response to ensure the continuity of Anhui's rich cultural legacy. In envisioning the future, the paper emphasizes the integration of modern technologies, calling for a dynamic engagement with dissemination platforms. This is not a static preservation effort; rather, it is a dynamic call to breathe new life into Anhui's Traditional Music. The proposed strategies aim to usher in an era where Anhui's musical traditions resonate vibrantly, transcending temporal boundaries and enriching the cultural mosaic of China. The paper, thus, extends a collective call to action, inviting scholars, enthusiasts, policymakers, and the public to actively participate in this cultural revitalization, ensuring the enduring legacy of Anhui's Traditional Music in the cultural fabric of the nation

Healthcare professionals, particularly those working in high-stress environments like hospitals, are frequently exposed to significant psychological challenges. This study explores the psychological stressors and coping mechanisms of medical laboratory personnel at the People's Hospital of Keyouqianqi, Inner Mongolia, China. Using a qualitative research design, data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 participants, focusing on their experiences of stress and the strategies they use to manage it. The findings reveal that the most significant stressors include high workloads, time pressure, the responsibility for diagnostic accuracy, and interpersonal conflicts within the workplace. Additionally, personal and social stressors, such as balancing work with family responsibilities, further compounded their stress levels. Participants employed a variety of coping mechanisms, both problem-focused and emotion-focused, with effective strategies including building strong professional relationships, engaging in physical activities, and practicing mindfulness. However, some participants resorted to ineffective coping strategies, such as avoidance behaviors and unhealthy habits, which often exacerbated their stress. This study highlights the complex interplay between individual coping strategies and the cultural and institutional context in which these professionals operate. The findings have important implications for practice and policy, offering insights into how healthcare institutions can better support the mental health and well-being of their staff
