Trabalho colaborativo docente para a melhoria da ação educativa
Get PDFThe potential of collaborative work, particularly in the educational context, has been pointed out as a powerful strategy for enhancing the institutions’ performances. This endorsement occurs either at the scientific and theoretical investigations level, as found in several studies, and at the prevailing Portuguese educational policies, wherein collaboration is depicted as a fundamental strategy to improve and develop the curricular options and the pedagogical dynamics implemented by schools and by teachers. In this study, we aimed at understanding the reality of teachers’ collaboration in the 26 schools of the Central Region of Portugal that participated in our inquiry, as a way to contribute to the discussion on this theme. Data was collected by means of an online questionnaire, available between 15 June and 20 September 2021, and its analysis followed a quantitative methodology based on the descriptive critical approach. The results show a massive recognition of the potential of teachers’ collaboration to enhance educational practices, although collaborative process are still inconsistent and take place mainly in formal contexts and within the limits of each curricular subject or department.As potencialidades do trabalho colaborativo, nomeadamente em contexto educativo, têm vindo a ser apontadas como uma estratégia robusta para a promoção da melhoria dos desempenhos das instituições. Esta apologia é feita quer ao nível do conhecimento científico, como descrevem vários estudos, quer ao nível das políticas educativas em vigor em Portugal, em que é apresentada como um caminho fundamental para o enriquecimento das opções curriculares e das dinâmicas pedagógicas, adotadas pelas escolas e pelos seus professores. Conhecer a realidade das 26 unidades orgânicas da Região Centro que participaram foi o objetivo deste estudo, intentando contribuir para essa reflexão. A recolha de dados efetuou-se através da aplicação de um questionário, disponibilizado online entre 15 de junho e 20 de setembro de 2021. A análise dos dados seguiu uma metodologia de natureza quantitativa, assente numa abordagem crítica descritiva. Os resultados evidenciam um reconhecimento massivo das potencialidades do trabalho colaborativo, mas práticas ainda pouco consistentes no que respeita a esta metodologia de trabalho, uma vez que a mesma acontece mais em contexto formais e numa lógica mais disciplinar
Políticas e práticas de avaliação externa dos alunos na perspetiva dos diretores: o caso das provas de aferição
Get PDFThis paper focuses on the perceptions of public school/school clusters’ principals about the policies and practices of external assessment, particularly in regard to low-stakes national tests. Data are drawn from a broader research project which involved, in the first phase, semi-structured interviews with 25 principals. Findings point to the prevalence of a rather negative view of the low-stakes national tests when compared with national high stakes exams. The participants are skeptical about the relevance and effectiveness of the low-stakes national tests and about the commitment and engagement from the part of students, families and even teachers. They also question the timing of REPA and RIPA reports and they undervalue their formative potential.Neste artigo analisamos as perceções dos diretores de agrupamento/escolas não agrupadas acerca das políticas e práticas de avaliação externa, mormente no que concerne às provas de aferição. Os dados decorrem de um estudo mais vasto que envolveu, numa primeira fase, entrevistas semiestruturadas a 25 diretores de agrupamentos/escolas não agrupadas. Os dados mostram que predomina uma visão globalmente negativa sobre as provas de aferição, pondo-se em causa a pertinência da sua existência, ao contrário dos exames nacionais. Questiona-se, em particular, a sua relevância e eficácia, o compromisso e empenho dos alunos, das famílias e até dos professores na realização das provas de aferição e o timing dos REPA e dos RIPA, subvalorizando as suas potencialidades formativas

Get PDFIntroduction: The experience of parents of children with congenital heart disease is characterized by numerous critical periods, described by parents as an emotional roller coaster and focused on the uncertainty of the possibility of death and the child’s survival. Aim: To reflect on the experiences of hope of parents of children with complex congenital heart disease, in an intensive care unit. Methods: Using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle framework, an episode of practice was explored. Results: Parental experiences are characterized by feelings of fear, despair and suffering, in a permanent uncertainty regarding the future. Hope plays a central role in the parents’ daily experiences. It is essential to intervene promoting a realistic hope, emphasizing the experience of parenthood, family and social support, faith, and celebrating children’s achievements and parental skills. Conclusions: Reflecting on practice, we explored parenting experiences and the positive effect of promoting realistic hope. Recognizing the therapeutic effect of hope in the care process, nurses should adjust the care plan to include hope promoting interventions. Introdução: O Processo vivencial dos pais de crianças com cardiopatia congénita é marcado por inúmeros períodos críticos, descritos pelos pais como uma montanha russa emocional, centrada na incerteza entre a possibilidade da morte e sobrevivência da criança. Objetivo: refletir sobre as vivências dos pais de crianças com cardiopatia congénita complexa, relacionadas com a promoção da sua esperança numa unidade de cuidados intensivos. Métodos: utilizando o referencial do Ciclo Reflexivo de Gibbs, foi explorado um episódio da prática. Resultados: As vivências parentais são revestidas de sentimentos de medo, desespero e sofrimento, numa permanente incerteza em relação ao futuro. A esperança apresenta um papel central nas vivências diárias dos pais, e o desenvolvimento de intervenções promotoras de esperança realista é essencial, salientando-se a vivência da parentalidade, o apoio familiar e social, a fé, a celebração das conquistas das crianças e das competências parentais. Conclusões: Refletindo sobre a prática, explorámos as vivências parentais e o efeito positivo da promoção de uma esperança realista. Reconhecendo o efeito terapêutico da esperança no processo assistencial, os enfermeiros podem ajustar o plano de cuidados com a inclusão de intervenções que a promovam

Mística ao pé da árvore: elementos teopoéticos no Canto dos Escravizados de Paulina Chiziane
Get PDF“Write yourself, Africa. Your history is a sealed chest awaiting your work. Look at yourself in the mirror of heaven, in the mirror of God. Picture yourself. Write yourself in true golden letters in the book of life” (Write yourself). Nominated in 2005 for the Nobel Peace Prize, Mozambican Paulina Chiziane is the first woman to have a novel published in her country, and in her work she articulates an appeal for an Africa free from the colonialisms that still figure in its social, political, economic and even cultural structures. Her work can give not only a voice but a spirit to the claim for freedom of her people. In her first and recent poetry work The song of the slaves (2018), Chiziane calls on her people to unite their voices for a life that reveres the sacred experience of their culture, without the interferences and vilifications caused by the mystical and theological conceptions from European colonization. In dialogue with the concept of “an open-eyes mysticism” by Johann Baptist Metz, under the methodology of structural analogy, this article seeks to explore and demonstrate in Chiziane’s work, the African theopoetic richness from the most adequate and most neglected perspective throughout history, that is, the voice of the children of Africa.«Escreve-te África. A tua História é um baú lacrado aguardando teu labor. Mira-te no espelho do céu, no espelho de Deus. Retrata-te. Escreve-te com verdadeiras letras de ouro no livro da vida» (Escreve-te). Indicada em 2005 ao Prêmio Nobel da Paz, a moçambicana Paulina Chiziane é a primeira mulher a ter um romance publicado em seu país, e articula em sua produção um apelo por uma África livre dos colonialismos que ainda hoje figuram em suas estruturas sociais, políticas, econômicas e mesmo culturais. Sua obra é capaz de conferir não apenas voz, mas espírito ao clamor por liberdade de seu povo. Em sua primeira e recente obra de poesias, O canto dos escravizados (2018), Chiziane conclama seu povo a unir suas vozes para uma vida que reverencie a experiência sagrada de sua cultura, sem as interferências e vilipêndios causados pelas concepções mística e teológica oriundas da colonização europeia. Em diálogo com o conceito de «mística de olhos abertos» de Johann Baptist Metz, sob a metodologia de analogia estrutural, este artigo busca explorar e demonstrar na obra de Chiziane a riqueza teopoética africana a partir da ótica mais adequada e a mais negligenciada ao longo da história, isto é, a dos filhos da África
Fascinating Museological Audiences, or the Cinematic Appeal
Get PDFThis review of Mandelli’s book The Museum as a Cinematic Space: The Display of Moving Images in Exhibitions (2019) explains how, according to Mandelli, several viewing dispositifs, understood as a rather flexible assemblage of elements, are increasingly being used in museums to combine education with entertainment. Thus, museums are becoming “cinematic spaces” with an ideological perspective. Mandelli’s approach to the projection technologies of moving images in museological venues is not only chronological but also phenomenological. A three-way interest is recognizable in the alignment of chapters, encompassing the educational value of the dispositifs, their artistic nature, and the experiential factor. As the book provides an interesting overview of two fields that usually are not taken together and contains an assortment of case studies described in detail, it should make a good addition to the fields of Museum and Fil

Pearl: o simbolismo da pérola
Get PDFThe object of study of this essay is the medieval poem Pearl (14th century), which will focus on the symbology of this valuable material, used as an adornment for over 6,000 years. The pearl was the pioneer of gemstones in Antiquity, a preciousness hidden under a cover - the shell prerequisites effort and care to acquire it, the same as to attain Truth or Knowledge. We will briefly argue for the definition of this poem as both an allegory and an elegy. Additionally, we considered it relevant to establish an analogy with meaning and proeminence in other works and, finally, we will conclude whether or not there is a metamorphosis of symbolism over time, as well as the disparities and similarities in different forms of representation of this gem.O objeto de estudo do presente ensaio é o poema medieval Pearl (séc. XIV) e irá focar-se na simbologia deste valioso material, utilizado como adorno há mais de 6.000 anos. A pérola foi a pioneira das gemas na Antiguidade, uma preciosidade escondida sob uma capa - a concha, que requer esforço e cuidado para ser adquirida, o mesmo que é exigido para alcançar a Verdade ou o Conhecimento. Iremos argumentar no sentido da definição deste poema como, simultaneamente, uma alegoria e uma elegia. Adicionalmente, considerámos relevante estabelecer uma analogia com o significado e proeminência noutras obras e, por fim, concluiremos se existe ou não uma metamorfose do simbolismo ao longo dos tempos, assim como as disparidades e semelhanças em diferentes formas de representação desta gema
