Medicinal Plants Traditionally Used in the Management of COVID-19 in Kurdistan Region of Iraq
Coronaviruses are infectious respiratory tract illnesses, but they can also affect the digestive tract and infect both humans and animals. The new coronavirus results in complicated health problems all over the world. The most urgent concern of all researchers around the world has been the treatment of the virus. The following study aimed to use quantitative ethnobotany to help scientist in addressing the deadly virus. Expert sampling method was adopted with the aid of an in-depth interview guide. Thirty-nine respondents were interviewed. Eighty-one medicinal plant species from 35 families were documented. Males 25 (64.1%) constitute the greater percentage of the total respondents. Majority of the respondents had formal education. Eighty-one medicinal plant species from 35 families were documented. Leaves are the most utilized 25.8 followed by seed 17.7 and fruits 12.1%, respectively. Relative frequency of citation ranged from 0.5 to 0.9, whereas the FL value ranged from 0.4 to 0.85, revealing how effective the documented plant species are in the management of COVID-19 in the region. A greater amount of research into documented medicinal plants is warranted because of the high likelihood that they contain many active ingredients
Decomposition of Fourth-Order Euler-Type Linear Time-Varying Differential System into Cascaded Two Second-Order Euler Commutative Pairs
*is paper presents decomposition of the fourth-order Euler-type linear time-varying system (LTVS) as a commutative pair of two second-order Euler-type systems. All necessary and sufficient conditions for the decomposition are deployed to investigate the commutativity, sensitivity, and the effect of disturbance on the fourth-order LTVS. Some systems are commutative, and some are not commutative, while some are commutative under certain conditions. Based on this fact, the commutativity of fourth-order Euler-type LTVS is investigated by introducing the commutative requirements, theories, and conditions. *e fourth-order Euler�type LTVSs are investigated into commutative pairs of twice Euler-type second-order linear time-varying systems (LTVSs). *e
decomposition theories and conditions are derived, proved, and solved to simplify the use of commutativity for practical and industrial uses. Some fourth-order systems are sensitive toward change in initial conditions or parameters while others are not, and the effect due to disturbance also varies within systems. Furthermore, the stability and robustness of systems have so many issues. But we consider fourth-order Euler-type LTVS to observe, investigate, and tackle these issues. Lastly, the realization of fourth-order LTVS from cascaded two second-order systems can be laboratory experimented which is an open problem for future
engineers to investigate. However, the theoretical results show a good agreement with the simulation results is considered in this work. Perhaps it might have unlimited physical applications in science and engineering as well as theoretical contribution. But beyond any reasonable doubt, the novelty is guaranteed because this study is the first of its kind that introduces the decomposition of the fourth-order Euler-type linear time-varying system (LTVS) as a commutative pair of two second-order Euler-type systems. Economic Impact of Online Education during Covid 19 Process on Students: Tishk International University Case
The Covid-19 process has brought many problems with it. This process has many negative effects on the education sector. One of these negative effects is the economic burden on students and teachers. In addition, this process, which has brought extra economic burdens to educational institutions in general, has deeply affected everyone in the sector. In order to see how this situation affected the students we discussed economically, a Likert scale questionnaire was applied to them. The results obtained showed that these students also had to face economic problems
Design and implementation of Arduino based robotic arm
This study presents the model, design, and construction of the Arduino based
robotic arm, which functions across a distance as it is controlled through a
mobile application. A six degree of freedom robotic arm has been designed
and implemented for the purpose of this research. The design controlled by
the Arduino platform receives orders from the user’s mobile application
through wireless controlling signals, that is Bluetooth. The arm is made up of
five rotary joints and an end effector, where rotary motion is provided by the
servomotor. Each link has been first designed using solid works and then
printed by 3D printer. The assembly of the parts of the robot and the motor’s
mechanical shapes produce the final prototype of the arm. The Arduino has
been programmed to provide rotation to each corresponding servo motor to
the sliders in the designed mobile application for usage from distance
Pericardial dual mesh uptake on PET scan mimicking residual mesothelioma; a case report
Introduction: Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare and aggressive cancer that typically arises
from the mesothelial linings of the lungs. The current study presents a rare case of MPM with a good
clinical response to chemotherapy, associated with pericardial dual mesh uptake in PET scan upon follow
up.
Case presentation: A 33-year-old male presented with dyspnea, severe headache for a period of a month.
He had history dendritic cell sarcoma which had been managed by 21 cycles of radiotherapy. Chest x. ray
showed multiple pleural based masses. Chest computed tomography scan showed multiple lobulated
pleural masses involving right hemithorax. Pleural biopsy showed epithelial type-mesothelioma. The
patient underwent 3 sessions of combination chemotherapy followed by pleurectomy. The patient's
response to chemotherapy was optimal and 5 month-PET scan follow up showed uptake by the
implanted mesh.
Discussion: MPM is reported to be directly linked to asbestos exposure with poor prognosis. The current
optimal management regarding MPM is lacking. Even though PET scan is highly sensitive, sites of in�fections, inflammation, and healing of surgical scars have been reported to show uptake, leading to a
false positive result.
Conclusion: The best therapeutic approach regarding MPM can be multimodal therapies that include
surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy before and after surgery. PET scan follow up of patients with
previous mesh implantations can show uptake and mimic malignanc
One more way to support Ukraine: Celebrating its endangered biocultural diversity
Background: Ukraine holds a rich reservoir of cultural and biological diversity due to its complex history and variegated landscapes. However, the current aggression poses threats to it, attacking its identity expressed through local ecological practices. Therefore, in this photo essay, we aim to celebrate the great reservoir of biocultural diversity that we observed during several field investigations in different areas of Ukraine.
Methods: We selected photos taken during fieldworks conducted by the authors between 2015 and 2021 in ten oblasts (counties) of Ukraine. The pictures were selected based on their efficacy in conveying a story about a local (food) practice or landscape.
Results: Two main aspects of food culture are relevant in Ukraine. First the foraging of wild plants and mushrooms for food and medicinal purposes in forestlands. Second, “babushka markets” where elderly sellers bring a few things they want to sell on the fringes of the official market. They often included preserved as pickles and jams, but also fresh products. In addition, the several traditional Ukrainian landscapes serve as reservoir of biocultural diversity expressed by small-scale farmers and livestock keepers.
Conclusions: We illustrated several examples of the richness of the biological and cultural diversity of Ukraine. Nevertheless, freedom is essential for expressing identity through food practices and landscape management. We hope that such a reservoir can serve as a foundation stone for rebuilding destroyed areas and devastated communities
Factors Affecting Number of Born Children in Iraq
Background: This paper investigates the factors that are associated with the effect of the number of born children in Iraq.
Methods: In this work, we aim to determine the contributing factors that affect the number of born children. Multiple and simple linear regression models together with two-sample t-tests were conducted to verify the potential risk factors that affect the born children which include but are not limited to smoking mother, mother age, a mother with the thyroid gland, mothers that use the medicine, preterm birth (PTB), low birth weight (LBW), high birth weight (HBW), and small for gestational age (SGA). The most important aspects of this study are investigating maternal and paternal factors affecting the number of born children in Iraq. Analyzing and identifying the risk factors that affect the number of born children and those factors that do not the number of born children are part of the contribution.
Results: The multiple regression model predicted that the maternal factors like mother weight ( ), smoking medicine ( ) with (p ≤ 0.05, p ≤ 0.05, p ≤ 0.05, p ≤ 0.05, p ≤ 0.05, p ≤ 0.05) respectively were significantly associated with the effect of the number of born children, while the mother age ( and husband age ( with (p 0.05, and p 0.05) respectively were not significant. Regarding the two-sample t-tests, the first analysis suggested that the smoking mothers significantly affected the number of born children with (p ≤ 0.05). The second analysis shows that the mediation effect of the thyroid gland was not significant with (p 0.05). The third analysis patterning the medicine of the mother did not significantly affect the number of birth children with (p 0.05).
Conclusion: The results obtained from this work predicted that smoking mothers strongly contributed and play a vital role toward the factors affecting the number of born children, these findings would tackle and reduce the higher risk associated with factors that affect the number of born children in Iraq. Most of the existing literature focused on paternal risk factors affecting birth outcomes, while others were restricted to single maternal factors associated with child outcomes. Appell Type Changhee Polynomials Operational Matrix of Fractional Derivatives and its Applications
In this paper, a fractional order differential equation (FDEs), will be solved numerically through
a new approximative technique based on Appell type Changhee polynomials. The operational of fractional
order derivative will be constructed, then its application together with collocation method in solving
fractional differential equations (FDEs) will be presented. The fractional derivatives in the FDEs are
described in the Caputo sense. Some numerical examples are finally given to show the accuracy and
applicability of the new operational matrix
Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Knowledge Sharing and Knowledge Hiding Behavior
During the last few decades, researchers have proven that controlling and sharing employee knowledge is critical for effective organizational transformation, innovation, and competitive advantage. Despite various efforts to promote information sharing inside businesses, individuals may not always be willing to share the knowledge assigned to them due to personal views or environmental restrictions that lead to knowledge concealment. We looked at the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on knowledge sharing (KS) and knowledge hiding (KH). We collected 149 data points from various firms in Iraq to examine this effect. As a result, we discovered a positive impact on emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing and concealment. employees who understand their feelings and other feelings will tend to share their knowledge of the things that they want to share their knowledge and it will impact the company positively to increase creativity, innovation, teamwork, increasing productivity of the firm, but on the other hand, employees who do not fully understand their feelings and other feelings they will lean on hiding knowledge of their own and to conceal most parts. Therefore, in literature, it will affect the company negatively (creating problems, lack of knowledge)
