Better Education at Ishik University Preparatory School with Extracurricular Activities
It cannot be said that education today in institutions is better than the previous century. Because in the past, students’ mind was not as full of time-consuming things like spending enormous time in front of a computer or a television as today. Subsequently, teachers used to concentrate their job well and students used to focus on the study better because there was nothing serious except studying. On the other hand, it can be said that the youth today are not eager to learn as yesterday. Because of the fact that they are economically free and supported, they do not worry about failing in the exams supposing that they can possess the questions somehow easily and pass the exams. As a result, they think that whatever they want, they can simply gain without pain. Doing homework or extra studies are a torture from students' perspective. As lecturers we are we have to find much more tactics to motivate students in this education era. Hence, extracurricular activities might play a great role for motivating them to study and on their study achievement if they are used in institutions effectively. In my research article educators’ observations and extracurricular activities’ positive impact on weak language learners will be mentioned
Parents’ Positive Role in Students’ Learning Process at Ishik University Preparatory School
The reason that motivated me to initiate this writing is to emphasize the deficiency in the motivation and unwillingness of university youth cause of the parents approach toward the education at preparatory school. Moreover, my aim is to declare realistic suggestions about the issue with the help of observations that have been gained during the profession of teaching. These observations urged me to intensify on the act of the parents and their relations with guidance unit at preparatory school. This study was conducted to attract the significance of parents` involvement and its yield at prep-school
Storytelling in EFL Classes
Storytelling is one of the oldest ways of education and oral tradition that is continuously being used to
transfer the previous nation‘s cultures, tradition and customs. It constructs a bridge between the new and the old.
Storytelling in EFL classes usually provides a meaningful context, interesting atmosphere and is used as a tool to
highly motivate students. Although it seems to be mostly based on speaking, it is used to promote other skills such
as writing, reading, and listening. Storytelling is mainly regarded to be grounded on imitation and repetition;
nevertheless many creative activities can be implemented in the classroom since this method directs learners to use
their imaginations. This study discusses the importance of storytelling as a teaching method, and it outlines the
advantages of storytelling in EFL classes
THE USE OF DRAWING IN LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING
This article is meant to help English language teachers to teach English more effectively. Drawing objects on the
board is very exciting for learners in that it allows students to easily acquaint themselves with new vocabulary
and quick memorization. It would be most appropriate if the words were to be nouns, as it would allow
demonstrating or drawing on the board. It is not required for a teacher to be knowledgeable in art, yet a simple
drawing can have a strong effect in enabling students to store vocabulary in their minds upon sight of the
picturization (visualization) of words. By asking students to comment and discuss the drawings creates an
avenue of reciprocal discussion and this further pivots discourse amongst the students increasing overall
classroom collaboration
The Role of Listening Skills in Developing Communicative Competence: A Case Study in the Language Classroom
Communication occurs as long as people receive and send messages which require good listening and
speaking skills. Listeners listen, understand and respond in a communication process; therefore without
understanding the speaker, learners fail to convey messages. Listening comprehension provides learners
meaningful input to enhance their linguistic knowledge. This study investigated the role of listening comprehension
in development of communicative competence and found that learners developed high communicative competence
by language input provided by listening to language materials
The Effect of Nano-Materials on Hot Mixture “Asphalt-Concrete”
During the past years different researchers have studied the causes of failure of flexible pavements and they offered variety of alternatives for solving these failure problems such as rutting, fatigue and low temperature cracking which are sourced from moisture susceptibility and also temperature sensitivity of either asphalt, aggregate or the asphalt mixture as a whole. This study is conducted to determine the optimum amount and potential applicability of zycotherm nanomaterial in asphalt and asphalt concrete mixtures with two different systems: directly applying to bitumen and diluting and applying to aggregate in order to address the solution of potential failure problems in flexible pavements. The study is carried out experimentally by conducting tests on bitumen and bituminous mixtures. Tensile strength test and retained stability tests were performed on bituminous mixture in order to measure the tensile strength ratio (TSR) and the retained stability index (RSI), which are both the indexed parameters to determine the mixture resistance to de-bonding and disintegration in the presence of water. Penetration, softening point, RTFOT, PAV, BBR and DSR tests were also performed on bitumen to determine the effect of zycotherm on bitumen’s contribution on rutting, fatigue and low temperature cracking of the mixture. It is found that using zycotherm material greatly increases the resistance of asphalt mixture to moisture induced damages and also increases its resistance to rutting, fatigue and low temperature cracking
COMBINING EXTENSIVE AND INTENSIVE READING TO REINFORCE LANGUAGE LEARNING
Reading large quantities of materials offers broad exposure to the target language hence extensive reading has
been considered as an effective way to enhance language proficiency. However, extensive reading may fail to
provide learners a perfect mastery of the target language as a conclusion without detailed analysis of language
materials effective language learning does not take place. Thusly, the implementation of intensive reading
leads to detailed and complete comprehension of language materials. From this point forth, the combination of
extensive and intensive reading leads to substantial proficiency gains in language learning process; while
extensive reading aims at fluency, intensive reading aims at accuracy. This study has found that the
achievement of learners has increased when extensive and intensive reading is combined in the language
classroom
Effect of Non-Technical Dimensions of Service Quality on “Satisfaction”, “Loyalty”, and “Willingness to Pay More” of the Customers: the Case of Georgian Internet Service Providing Companies
The aim of this paper is to measure the effects of non-technical dimensions (Empathy, Responsiveness,
Assurance, Reliability, and Tangibles) on “satisfaction”, “loyalty”, and “willingness to pay more” of the
internet service consuming customers. In this concept, a survey questionnaire was conducted on the
population that utilizes the internet service of any provider. The results were evaluated by regression
analysis IBM SPSS 20. It has been observed that Empathy, Responsiveness, and Assurance have
significant effect on the satisfaction of the internet service consuming customers and satisfaction has
significant effect on the loyalty of the internet service consumers. Finally, customers had willingness to
pay more when they are satisfied and loyal, respectively
Chemical Analysis of the Essential Oils from Three Populations of Lippia dulcis Trevir. Grown at Different Locations in Southern Ecuador
In this investigation, we have analyzed for the first time the essential oils (EOs) isolated by steam distillation of the leaves and flowers of Lippia dulcis Trevir., grown at three different locations in southern Ecuador: the Catacocha canton (Ca), the Vilcabamba parish (Vi), and the Chuquiribamba parish (Ch). Around 98.5% of the oils’ constituents were identified by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) analysis using a DB-5ms capillary column. Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons were predominant in the EOs (79.77, 78.22, and 76.51%, respectively). The most representative constituents of the sample from the Ca canton were β-cedrene (16.75%), δ-selinene (11.04%), and β-cubebene (12.09%), while the sample from the Vi parish was characterized by the abundant presence of β-cedrene (17.9%), δ-selinene (12.52%), and bicyclogermacrene (11.34%). β-Cedrene (18.89%), δ-selinene (11.78%), and δ-cadinene (11.07%) were the main constituents of the essential oil (EO) from the Ch parish. The likely occurrence of low amounts of thermolabile hernandulcin in the volatile oils was indicated by the presence of the fragmentation products 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one and 3-methyl-2-ciclohexen-1-one. In summary, the study gave us a clue to the variability of Lippia dulcis chemotypes depending on the collection sites
